Just finished my first trans-Atlantic cruise on Oceania's new Vista. What a special experience. I have loved cruising on other Oceania vessels (Marina, Riviera, Nautica) over the years and was really looking forward to being on the new Vista and it did not disappoint. The ship is lovely, the service, food, and quality outstanding. The staff is very professional, friendly, and service oriented. ...
Let me give you all some background so you understand the perspective we are coming from. My husband I are both millennials and have almost exclusively sailed on the so-called “ultra-luxury” lines, i.e. Regent, Silversea, Crystal and Seabourn as we prefer the small ship experience. Since childhood, my husband had always wanted to take a transatlantic cruise. Thanks to the fact that ships are ...
This was our third Oceania cruise and the first on Vista (previous ones on Marina and Nautica). It was also our first transatlantic and we were really looking forward to all those sea days – we knew it would be a much more relaxing holiday than O’s usual port intensive cruises.
We’d flown from our local airport to London, on the Sunday, staying overnight at Heathrow, then on to Miami the next ...
A 23 year old ship is never going to be impressive compared to a glitzy new one, but you know that before you board. What Infinity might lack in the the latest pizzazz it more than makes up for in style and friendliness and the recent dry-dock has left her nicely smartened up. Many carpets, furniture and beds have been replaced. (They even renewed many balcony chairs mid cruise).
Being a ...
We travelled as a family two groups one group of Grandparents and son and daughter in law with a seven month old baby. We booked two mini suites which were really lovely, well furnished and really comfy beds with lovely duvets and pillows. We took our own travel cot for the baby because Princess did not guarantee that one would be available!!!! The weather was horrendous as we travelled with ...
Having cruised a dozen or so times with several lines, we decided on Celestyal for a short 4 night cruise out of Lavrion. The itinerary was the selling point along with the timing- my daughter's Spring Break kept us locked into a specific week. We knew it probably would be a step down from the Holland Americas of the world but figured the islands visited would make up the deficit. When we booked, ...
Avoid E504 like the plague. The noise in this cabin was like a trapped poltergeist trying to escape from inside of the cabin walls. The banging noise was frightening. This only happened at sea. It took loads of complaints and after 8 days we moved to a quiet cabin. This problem affected quite a number of passengers in the lower/middle ship area. Disembarkation was terrible, its was running over ...
Despite cool damp weather the quality of the young boat and its staff was obvious.
Our cabin, port side, going down river kept its view when alongside.
The exterior and top deck are not well presented/decorated.
Tour guides/coaches were excellent (we enjoyed the inclusive tours).
Our cabin was most attractive, (with large shower cubicle) and so well serviced twice a day we left a tip ...
On Sunday, March 24, 2024 My Viking Paris & The Heart of Normandy 8 Days - Paris-Rouen-Paris River Cruise with my daughter-in-love began. Because the Seine River was too high, our beautiful Viking Fjorgyn ship had to dock at Le Pecq. We were greeted at the Paris Charles de Gaulle Air Port and taken to our ship. We were greeted warmly by the Hotel Manager and his wonderful staff and taken to our ...
We had a great time! Every detail was taken care of. What was especially helpful was the direct flight and the assistance with food prep due to my spouse having a food allergy. The maitre dee always brought the menus the night before so there were no surprises. I only wish that the second leg of the journey aboard the Hermod had been equally impressive. Unfortunately, it was not. Not once did we ...
