From the moment we boarded in Venice to the time we left this cruise was an absolute nightmare. Firstly there were incredible lines waiting to board making everyone stand in the sun in above 40 degree temperatures. There were only two people handling this and it was so poorly run. Then we left the port 10 hours later than scheduled which then impacted on the time we spent in Split, Croatia. We spent the grand total of two hours in port!!!!There were four other cruise ships in port at the time and all of the others left at scheduled time. All of the port stops were short and rushed! The disembarkation procedures were appalling and poorly processed. The entertainment on board was pathetic and the activities did not cater for all passengers. The quality of the buffet food was terrible and was continually the same and some of the reception staff were rude and did not know what they were doing. This cruise was supposed to be the relaxing end to a wonderful European holiday but it turned out the be such a disappointment! Will NEVER use this cruise line again! Read Less

2nd rate cruise line! Beyond terrible customer service (sent 4 emails with no response and several calls with no answer including a 54 minute call which I have a screenshot of); stained sheets on the cruise (I have a pic); 2 of our 3 excursions were horrible; hard beds; teenagers allowed in the adult only pool area but not kids; kids pool hours limited; 90% of the food on the windjammer deck was the same day in and day out; lack of smiles; little direction causing mass confusion when disembarking. Despite several attempts to be nice and work things out with RC, they would rather have a upset customer rather than attempt to repair the damage and win back their customer. Best way I can say it is once they have your money, good luck. A once in a lifetime trip to Greece was ruined by the inability of the staff and the company to be able to empathize and properly take care of their guests! Because they do not even want to attempt to win me back as a customer, I will never recommend them! Read Less

Great destinations and most staff. However the ship is a disaster. They spent millions extending the ship when really they should have towed it to the middle of the Atlantic and used it as target practice.... The stairs and lifts are not logical. Some go all the way some stop a floor before you want and others stop before one before you want to get to.all If you have a window or an inside cabin don’t bother trying to sleep before well after midnight because the noise from discos and bars will definitely keep you awake. Even with the best possible earplugs I can STILL SING ALONG WITH THE MUSIC!! Guest relations offered me €100! So kind.... If I could get a flight home I would. If you have booked change it. If you are thinking about it DONT!! Go on something, anything else. I have done 17 cruises and this is the absolute WORST!! The entertainment crew were certainly enthusiastic. If a little loud, and mostly in Italian..... Dining is fine. Service in the MDR was excellent. The food was ok, portion size was small. One carrot does about three tables, the Buffet was a nightmare!! Pushing, shoving and loud. Forget if you want a table. The coffee was awful too. Thankfully the destinations was fantastic. Mykonos was lovely, Santorini was a bunfight. But the highlight was Corfu town. Lovely and lovely people. A couple of places were tender. A queue was ages but they dealt with it ok and they did use larger tender ships to get us off. A good idea that other cruise companies should adopt. All in all great destinations but a old tug and appalling ship and terrible terrible customer service. My view is the same AVOID even if it was free!! Read Less

This was the only cruise that fit schedules for everyone in our family. We also thought maybe we should try new cruiseline after 5 cruises with the same company. Big mistake. The ship itself looks beautiful. Embarkation was fine. Excursions were fine. Cabin was fine except that some guests decided to smoke in their cabins so our cabin smelled smoky too. My cabin has “no smoking” sign inside not sure about others. Complained twice, nothing was done. The housekeeper even said he did not want to anger other guests. Bad smell aside, it’s for the ship safety. guess safety does not matter. Food was bad. Buffet breakfast was cold or overheated (rubbery) scramble eggs. Yogurt was in a big open bowl so gross that someone could easily spit on it. Buffet lunch or dinner was a collection of pasta and pizza, a little grilled chicken, grilled fish, nothing spectacular. Dinning room only went twice. Dining room did not serve any drink, not even regular tap water. You are forced to buy bottled water or wine. Definitely no coffee or tea after the meal. Meal was way below any cruise line standard. I could possibly do better at home in terms of taste and presentation! This cruise was 95% Italian focus. Shows were mostly in Italian and there was 1 in French. For my family, pure english speaking, no entertainment for the entire cruise. To be honest, the singing was ok, dance, acrobatics were below other cruise lines standard. Disembarkation was a disaster. 3 hours delay due to some event happening at Venice. We were expected to believe that this event was new and they knew nothing about it and did not think it would affect disembarkation. Really? According to our “daily program”, we should be out of the ship by 9:30 then changed to 10:30. We did not get off until 11:45. We missed our flight or many guests missed the flights or we had to scramble to look for alternatives paying extra. All we heard from the customer service, which probably more appropriate to call them customer no service, was that it was not their fault, there was nothing they could do. YES, you could do something and that was simply providing accurate information from the beginning! Being pure English speaking Asian from the North America, definitely minority in this trip, my family did not feel welcomed at all. No crew ever said a hello to us even if we walked right into each other. There was this lead Spanish officer, she was so cheerful and bubbly speaking in her language with her people but when she saw me, she took away the smile and simply looked and walked away. The worst I have ever been treated in my cruise experiences. MSC clearly is not ready to handle international guests in Europe, at least with this cruise and this crew. The whole cruise is tailored for Italian, Spanish or simply white. Going forward we will stick with more reputable cruise line, get our money worth. Read Less

We chose this cruise because the kids were free and since we were getting married it seemed like a good choice to offset some of the costs. This was my first cruise but my husband had previously cruised before on many other ships and if it was just for me I would never cruise again based on my experience on MSC but my husband swears that he's never had such bad experience on other cruises. I don't know where to begin. First, our pool towels were never changed even if I left the dirty ones in the shower, they would get folded and put back on our bed. The embarcation and debarcation was a fiasco at each port. It was disorganized like it was their first time which created long waits. The food in the buffet was limited and always running out, long waits for them to refill the food. There was never any ice at the machine except very early morning. ALL the food buffet and restaurant were "ok", nothing special just ordinary. Everything tasted the same because it lacked seasoning. Usually you have a big "always available menu" for when you don't like the dining menu but there was only 2 options there for the entire week, grilled chicken and fries. The portions were very small, we often had to get 2 dishes because of the size. The service in the dining room was awful. Given the wedding, we had a group of 17 seated together but at different tables next to each other. We never (both tables) ate together the entire week. Their table was always finished 45-60 minutes before us. At our own table, we were never served at the same time either since they would bring out dishes as they were ready and not per table which meant that sometimes 3 people would be eating then 5-10 mins later 2 more plates came then 2 more etc. On the night of the wedding, we decided to treat ourselves to the steak (20EURO/person). The steak was undercooked when we received it (20 minutes after our guests received their regular meals) so by the time we got it back it was 45 minutes later. The whole table was done eating and of course the other table in our group had already left which made it hard to serve the wedding cake (which they brought out as I was eating my steak). They then rushed us out because of the next seating was starting to come in which was the case all week but worse that night considering the circumstances of the wedding and cake. After the ceremony, we were taken all over the ship for pictures with the ship photographer which meant we left the ceremony hall with our personal decorations. We called and asked at service desk for the following 3 days (multiple times per day) and nobody knew where our stuff was and they kept saying that someone would get back to us but never did. We FINALLY received our stuff 1 hour before leaving the cruise. The entertainment was "ok". I expected a different act each night but it was the same all week but with different music and outfits. The dances are basically the same. I wanted magic one night, comedy another, dance another, acrobatic another etc. Also, on special nights such as 70's or white etc, they would close the lounges and disco to force you to go to their activity. That was frustrating. We wanted to go dance but couldn't because it would only open after the other thing was done, usually at midnight so on most nights we just went to bed early. My daughter (15) wanted to check out the teen club, we got there and there were young men (20's) hanging out with the kids and couldn't see any MSC cruise member supervising which is how this happened. I don't want my 15 year old hanging out with 20 year old men. Last issue, we had onboard credits while booking our cruise but the reception desk refused to let us use them. We only found out when we settled our bill at the end of the week. If we would of known, we wouldn't of spent to much. We were spending because we thought we had those extra credits. Read Less

We often go on different cruise companies, and we have a large experience of service on cruise ships, but we were 1st time on the Opera MSC ship And unfortunately our vacation was very poor :( As soon as we entered the ship, we were surprised about the small the size of the cabin, although we had a cabin with a balcony, there were not even napkins in the cabin. On the diversity in the restaurant and the buffet, it is better not to remember. The food was from low-quality products and there was no varied choice. Its was no season fruits , except for melons and apples, there was nothing, only apricots were given on the last day Excursions were also not on the high level Where it was possible to stay a little longer, time was abbreviated and one day they just stole from us. We planned this trip mainly because of the city of Mykonos, so this port was canceled altogether and went to another completely un interesting city Chaina The captain's squad referred to bad weather with a storm warning,  although we looked on the Internet, the weather was good everywhere. It was also very economical with parking and time in another port because Chaina was cheaper port than Mykonos The people understand that they not stupid, that on our ship there was an accident on June 2 in the city of Venice and compensation was paid to the people. But we were suffered in the capital, they were saving money on us We decided that we would never again use the services of the company. MSC P.S It was not possible to go out on the balcony and open it, because smoke stood all the time people was smoking on their balconys The administration of the ship did not announced  to prohibit smoking on the balconies, without at all caring for the fire safety of the people and the ship itself. And the night disco started at 9.30 and ended 1.30 -2.00 From loud speakers it was not possible to fall asleep   Read Less

CONS -Embarkation - we were waiting for two hours in the port. The port guy was constantly shouting at you and people waiting. People in the queue were very poorly mannered, kicking, pushing you and trying to skip the long queues -MSC gave us incorrect drinks package and then blamed our travel agent saying travel agent provided incorrect info ( not true) -MSC allocated our preferred restaurant incorrectly and blamed our travel agent asking for that specific restaurant as per our request (not true) -Dirty bedlinen in the cabin ( stains) -Dirty bathroom ( dirty door, mirror, rust and dirt in the shower) -The balcony cabin is old and carpet/ furniture needs to be replaced very badly - The balcony is dirty and rusty - Customer service is non existent -at the very best they will ignore your complaints, otherwise they will shout at you , they could not care less about your comfort or satisfaction -Cold water at all tea stations- impossible to make a cup of tea -The pool was impossible to get into- too many poorly mannered people pushing you out of the way and kicking you ( we have got a balcony cabin Fantastica experience, which was supposed to be a luxury experience- what a joke!) -The Italian staff were very rude , inpatient, poorly mannered. They were constantly raising their voice and shouting at you. Anything we were asking for was too much of a trouble for them - Our waiter at dinner was really good but service in the restaurant during lunchtime was awful - the waiting staff was ignoring you, you could sit there for 30 min waiting to get a menu, the waiter at the door shouted at you when asked to take order ( shouting that he is not taking orders as he is a door waiter) -They will charge you for water in the cabin even when water is included with your package - They will add Unicef charge to your bill without asking you - I have got a severe allergic reaction within 10 minutes of drinking their cheap pina colada at the pool -They will mix french and english speaking groups together on excursions to earn more money, pure greed ( and will still charge you 90 euro per person). -Disembarking was terrible, staff were treating you like a cattle, long queues again for 3 hours, staff shouting at you, people kicking and pushing you, arrival was also late -Buffet was a mess, people running around, pushing you out of the way and trying to skip long queues - The wines included in the 30 euro per day package were very cheap and of a very bad quality , MSC cocktails gave me a severe allergic reaction PROS -The food was very tasty -Ports / towns where we stopped were very nice - especially Dubrovnik , Venice, Lecce, Mykonos, Olympia -Some Asian staff were very good, polite and friendly -Excursions were interesting and well organised ( except for the guide called Eva in Athens - Acropolis, Plaka and Museum tour- my advice would be to avoid this one) -Entertainment was really good Read Less

Used a cruise company to select suitable ship for 70yrs grandmother, daughter and granddaughter 5yrs, our first time on a cruise. The ship was old and tired throughout. Food was awful, commercial plastic produced selection, it was interesting to see what arrived on your plate after ordering, I sent many main and dessert plates back and lived on the fish dishes. I do not eat the poor quality of food that was offered, in my own home and expected to be wowed by the quality and presentation, not once did this happen. Theatre shows, pathetic. Crew were in general, miserable, especially Guest Services desk, used once and dreaded the 2nd and final 3rd time to settle my account. Child play areas on deck, boring. No play room for parents to take children to be together if you did not want to leave your child at the club! We played in the ship's library. No ice cream available, on an Italian ship!!!, no fresh strawberries or cherries, come on they were in season aplenty on shore! My overall impression of this once in a lifetime cruise, to make memories, "Benidorm on a Tugboat". I was offered 150 pounds voucher off the price of another cruise, I just laughed. Never ever again will I go on a cruise, even if offered free. It was dreadful and I just want to forget, worst holiday I have ever had in my 70 years. Read Less

I chose because of the low cost. unfortunately I got what I paid for. After more than 10 cruises with other cruise I can't tell how disappointed I was. The issue started before I left home. Calling MSC you have 2 choices 2 for new booking or 3 for existing booking. If you choose 2 someone answer within 30 seconds, but if you choose 3 then no one ever answers. I tried several times no luck. Then when arrived at the ship we had to carry our own luggage to our cabin. This has never happened to me before. But this was only the beginning . At every port we had disembark and re board via a very steep ramp. I use a cane and this was very dangerous . At one port we were tendered in the rain but they only used 3 life boats for 4000 people. Coming back we had to wait 1and 30 minutes in the rain, plus when we got to the ship we had to climb a steap stair case on the outside of the ship. The food in the buffet was barely edible and the dining was not much better never more than 3 choices. That started with having to argue for water at our table. We were 6 at our table but never had more than 3 pads of butter. Coffee and tea came very late (I suspect they were hoping we would loose interest and leave . Other than the cabin steward no one was approachable. All the staff did was try to sell us extras. As to special restaurants there were none. I would happily paid for a better meal but that option didn't exist. They did sell a steak in the dining for €23. we took it hoping it would be acceptable and it was. The only good meal in the entire 2 weeks. Apparently sail with MSC a second time. I can't imagine why. Read Less

This is our third time on the Aegean Odyssey. It will be our last time on the Aegean Odyssey. The ship suffered engine problems on the previous cruise and they were forced to issue a Full refund to all passengers. The company has confirmed that our ship suffered a similar fate and the company made a decision to put a priority on getting the ship to Athens. That meant dropping ports, abbreviating shore leave, and using bus transportation across the island of Crete… I.e. five hours round-trip. A cruise with three days at sea scheduled became a cruise of six days at sea. The company believes a $300 credit is satisfactory. Currently, the majority of the passengers are seeking restitution from the company as we believe they did not meet their contract with their customers and materially changed the nature of this cruise. Before booking with voyages, customers should inquire as to the state of the engines and request a copy of the survey and report that was conducted at the end of March. Buyer beware without confirmation that these engines have been repaired. Read Less

The food was poor, even in the restaurant. We decided to go to the sushi restaurant which was also v. poor. The chicken from the noodle soup was dry and resembled the grilled chicken served as an alternative in the restaurant which make me think this was leftovers (paid 84 Euro's to find this out). The 2 hot tubs didn't work for the first 2 days of the cruise, then when they were repaired they had to be shared by over 2,000 cruisers...this was managed by the staff who allowed you a 5 minute turn...really! Are bags were lost on embarkation and damaged on disembarkation. The QUEUES please be very aware that it takes more than 40 minutes to get on and off the ship with only 2 entry/exit points and security that is severely understaffed. This meant significantly less time at destinations and having to cut short are plans. The entertainment, I have seen much much better amateur productions. Not even good. It was the worse cruise we have ever been on. On getting to Rome Port the ship wasn’t there due to bad weather which they were aware of 24 hours beforehand. We then had to wait over 6 hours on a hard chair (if you were lucky to get one) and all we were offered was a small bottle of water and a small packet of crackers which they run out of so we only got 1 to share. When we got to our cabin it wasn’t cleaned out sticky marks on the unit. The toilet smelled. Had to ask for disinfectant. The hand towels were a disgrace ready for the bin. Then our fiasco began our air conditioning didn’t work and we had 5 visits from maintenance before they installed a new unit. We asked to be put into a different cabin but was told there weren’t none as shipwas full. Then on the 5th day toilet didn’t work so once again had to wait in cabin for anew system to be put in. The whole ship looked as if it needed refurbishing. There wasn’t any currency to be had on the places we were visiting . The days at sea were a disgrace nothing organised unless you wanted to gamble or attend an art auction. The excursions cost a fortune so didn’t go on any. All the food in restaurant came up cold and had to keep returning it and the variety of food was very poor. The entertainment was more suitable for children which obviously didn’t appeal to most people as the theatre was never full. It was such a disappointment as we went on this cruise to celebrate my husbands special birthday. Read Less

We chose those cruise because it was going to places that we wanted to visit and also ports we have never been to be. Right from start it was horrific. We arrived at Rome port to find the ship not there. We were told there would be at least a delay of 6 hours due to bad weather. During that wait, which the cruise company were aware of all we were offered was a small bottle of water and a small packet oftuc biscuits but because they run out of them we had to share. There were not enough seats so we had to stand part of the time. Then we got to our state room to find the air conditioning not working which took them 5 attempts before it was put right. We had to wait in the room to explain the problem each time. Eventually they put a new system in which would have been done on the first visit. Then on 5th day toilet didn’t work so they had to put a new system in there. We asked to be put into a different cabin but we were told the cruise was fully booked. Also our cabin was never cleaned when we first got into it. Our hand towels were a disgrace. I have better dish clothes. The food in the restaurant always came cold and selection very poor. The whole of the ship looked as if it needed refurbishing. I have never been on a cruise where they didn’t have the currency of the places we were visiting. They didn’t even have euros. When we were at sea there was nothing to entertain us except if you were interested in the casino or going to an auction to bid for a painting. We chose this cruise line because of the itinerary and that is the only reason, three days in Israel. Three cabins, two generations of cruisers. We have been on lots of cruises, never on Celebrity and never again! Let me start with the positive: big upgraded rooms (we paid for this!) nice staff. Now the negative: we paid to upgrade my parents, we show up at entry, there is no cabin for them and no one seems concerned. I pitched a fit and they found one. They charge for spin and Zumba and yoga classes, a first in my experience. No free Internet --in fact Internet charge was close to $500. Many rooms off limits thruout the cruise for private functions. Unless you drink tap water, coffee (lukewarm) or tea, you pay for ANYTHING you drink. You pay for specialty restaurants. You pay for gelato! Food in dining room and café was unbelievably tasteless even desserts!! Even croissants! No real fridge in rooms. No bottled water.Certain room service items were extra. Ship dirty and smelly Entertainment and activities scant.Forget TV movies and channels, very limited and mostly UK game shows!! Hard sell on everything, in fact, most "activites" were sale shows. 26 such events in ONE DAY. Port lectures were very poor and unreliable, mostly telling you where to shop at their "preferred: shops. It took us three hours to get a rerplacement bathroom light. Towels and sheets are very old and paper thin. Tap water is vile yellowish. Prized for trivia contests were pathetic...sunglass paper cover, small USB stick...?deck of cards Charged $50 for one small sack of laundry. The experience was laughably bad. Avoid at all costs. I need to share the absolutely terrible experience my husband and I had on our recent Regent Voyager cruise – Return to Sorrento in October 2018. My husband and I had never take a cruise before so we didn’t quite know what to expect. We frequently travel and typically stay at 5 star hotels/resorts and have basically traveled the world. Because of our age (my husband turned 80 last year) we decided to try this cruise based on our friend’s recommendation and the fact that it’s becoming more and more difficult for us to travel like we have in the past. Also, we really wanted to visit Israel for my husband’s 80 birthday celebration and I personally wanted to visit the Amalfi Coast – both of which were on this specific itinerary. Our first disappointment was the condition of our penthouse suite. It was outdated, run down, dirty (the furniture was stained) and the bathroom was filed with mildew. The closet door was always opening and after several attempts at asking the crew to fix this, we finally just gave up. The tours were another major problem. They took us to complete tourist traps and to the worst restaurants in the cities. In Tel Aviv they charged us 10 Euros for a bottle of water and wasted time taking us to cheap trinket stores for shopping. The food on the ship was decent but looked nothing like the photos on their website. Every request I had was handled when I was already done eating my meal. The biggest disappointment was not being able to stop in Amalfi because of weather. I understand this was out of anyone’s control; however, the captain did not apologize and worse yet – they never reimbursed us for what we paid for the tour in Amalfi. Instead they gave us the same amount in shipboard credit and forced us to shop on the ship for things we didn’t need. It took 4 days to get our iPads/iPhones somewhat working after visiting IT several times. Lastly, once we arrived to our final port in Rome, we had to pull our own luggage out of storage and pull it all the way to our bus without any assistance from the crew. We literally felt like they threw us off the ship. In summary, we will never cruise with Regent again. The worst $30K vacation experience of our lives. Read Less

The staff was rude. The waiters were the only ones who actually showed concern and politeness on the entire cruise. We were forced to wait on the stairs for hours after our flights because they didn’t finish cleaning the ship. We couldnt even wash our faces after a 18 hr flight. We were late getting into Naples and had to sit in the theater for over 2 plus hours waiting to get off the ship. We never had anything restocked in our bathroom unless we asked. The entire ship had to take a cold shower the second to last day of the cruise becaue of the fact that no one had hot water. Our toilet stopped working for two days at one point. It was a cruise that didn’t care about the happiness or comfort of the people and it’s a shame that Royal Caribbean would consider this ship and this treatment of its clients acceptable. You have lost a valuable client because of this and me and my family will never travel with this company again. Read Less

We took the msc Lirica for 7 nights med. cruise. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and quality Italian and international cuisine. (as the brochure stated). The food was below average to poor. At the dining rooms the food portions were very small, tasteless bland and luke warm, but often cold. I left most of the meals. We decided to eat at the buffet as was told food better than the dining area, but it was like being in a zoo being pushed and shoved around by people trying to get to the food! It was hectic, fast food, cafeteria, limited choice and poor quality luke warm/cold food. Chicken in parts were pink with some blood, steak was tough, stew grisly and bony, pasta pasta bland and overcooked. Breakfast the scrambled eggs tough and tasteless like cardboard, bacon strands of fat, yoghurt sweet and watery, even the italians moaned bout the food.I left the food, just picked at it to keep me alive! The meal time drink package was limited. The red wine cheap and acidy,I was told they only serve this cheap one with the package. food and wine made me ill all through the cruise. Entertainment poor and boring. Day time was boom boom boom like butlins camp. Staff unfriendly never smiled. Shuttle buses/boats not free, we didnt budget for this. last trip was dubrovnik 14 euros each the local bus was 1 euro!. What a rip off! Never again will we go on an MSC cruise esp. this one. The worst food/cruise ever. Value for money not good.DONT GO unless you want to starve or get ill! Read Less

Our recent trip on Celebrity Constellation from Venice to Rome was a disappointment. The number of people, the noisy activities, the lack of basic information and the continual selling of products produced a less desirable atmosphere. Also, in many ways it was like going to a private club where one did not know the rules. Throughout the cruise we were finding out how things worked or what was or was not available, such as no access to the Reflections lounge in late afternoon unless you were a frequent passenger of Celebrity. I did not feel welcome. The company failed to provide details such as floor plans in each cabin although there was room for a 48-page catalogue of the art work that could be purchased. Basic information about the ports that we visited was not given to passengers although I discovered partway through the cruise that the concierge had some information. And sometimes there were a few maps etc. available if you knew where to look and got them before they ran out. Celebrity advertises its select Dining program as allowing “guests flexibility with evening dining. Guests select to dine between the hours of 6:00-9:30 each evening, much like a regular restaurant”. But the reality is quite different. On the first day we learned that reservations could only be made before 6 pm or after 8:30 pm and only one day in advance, not for the entire cruise. Partway through the cruise we learned that pagers were available so that you could check in earlier than 8:45 pm (the first available evening reservation) and wait to be called (usually 30-45 minutes). As part of the three-dinner specialty restaurant package, we were assigned on the first evening to the Qsine Restaurant, a restaurant that offers a “unique experience”. Here we sat on mismatched chairs and tried to order from icons on a computer tablet. It was not a relaxing environment, especially when the trendy tubes that doubled as spoons spilled melted ice-cream all over our hands. The Tuscan Restaurant was excellent. We selected this cruise because it was one of the few companies offering two days in Malta, a place with a rich history. However, there were no presentations on Malta but there was time for a talk on gemstones. I was told that it was a corporate decision about when to offer “enrichment” talks. Similarly, it was a corporate decision to put the office of the concierge in the library. Hence, the quiet atmosphere was interrupted by phone calls and visits by passengers seeking information from the concierge. In addition, the open staircase in the library led to the computer room where there were classes and other noisy activities such as selling new tablets. The emphasis on the cruise seemed to be one of selling: either new products (tablets, clothes, watches, art work) or packages for activities during the cruise (internet, beverage, dining etc.). For me, travel is an opportunity to experience new places and learn about their history; clearly, my objectives and those of Celebrity are at variance. My lesson – choose another company. Read Less

We have cruised many, times since last choosing RCI. In fact the last time was around 35 years ago. Since then we have travelled with P&O,H&L,Celebrity and many others of the same calibre. This was our third cruise in 2018. We chose this cruise as part of a package put together by IGLU to encompass Lake garda as the starting point and a transfer to Venice to pick up the ship. We had little choice off cabins, normally travelling in Balcony, but we could only get Outside cabins at the time of booking some 9 months ago. We were allocated cabin number 4072. A small unit but adequate for the short 7 days cruise. The location was good being mid ship and near most amenities. And as we had 3 days of severe wind, which stopped us from berthing or using tenders, the location choice was therefore very good, and the rolling of the vessel was less than forward or aft. We had so many moans and complaints but I highlight just some. The Captain, who was obviously, very experienced and handled the ship very professionally, was from South America. This became a problem for us as some of the more important announcements made regarding the weather etc were given which such a pronounced latin accent we had to go to reception to find out what was said. The entertainments director was also Latin American and therefore most of his announcements could not be understood. His deputy was Italian and therefore the same problem occurred. This was then followed by the Excursions managers seminars and announcements, he was also speaking with a strong Spanish accent which could also not be understood. The entertainments Director, delighted in treating everybody like Morons and guests with very low IQ's. His presentations were like something from "Hidy Hi" from the UK 70's TV show and became a great annoyance to a good many people. If he was responsible for interviewing the guest performers, you can imagine what these turned out like........absolute rubbish, apart from a tribute Beatles Band. The Food in the main restaurant and buffet was of good quality but sometimes served cold or very cool. The staff in all of the dining venues were excellent. The Excursions were awful and where an absolute waste of money. Regretably our trip with Royal Caribbean has not only put us off travelling with them again, but also have now managed to put us off cruising deep sea. We are going to have to continue River Cruising where there are not so many crowds and one is certainly not treated as "Cruise Idiots". I could go on but now feel stressed after reliving this bad experience once again in my mind. Read Less

Chose this cruise for the dates, the itinerary and for the nice reviews our friend gave. However, I found the cruise to be lacking in several key areas. First, the ship was old and dated and desperately in need of refurbishment. Second, the food was beyond awful. Other than breakfast, totally inedible, There was to nights that my wife could only eat soup and breadsticks. The specialty restaurants were fine, but they charged EXTRA (not so on Seabourne) and we literally had to beg to get in, as they would NOT allow reservations pre-boarding, and once we boarded, they claimed all booked up. Talk about a Catch-22. Third, the cabin was disgusting. there was an old and moldy shower curtain that, because the shower was so small, was constantly touchy our bodies. (photos on request). Talk about a dirty feeling! For the SAME price of a Seabourne cruise, this vacation was sorely lacking. Avoid this cruise line and spend your money elsewhere. Read Less

We chose MSC through previous good experiences in 2008 and 2014. However, our experience this time left us feeling cheated. Ports of call were in most instances too short in time, particularly if you have limited mobility. The evening dining experience left very much to be desired. We had to complain numerous times about the temperature and standard of food being served, and it was barely tepid. The quality of the food also left a great deal to be desired. Moreover, as for the amount of food served on the plates, this left one feeling, was it worth the effort in ‘dirtying the plates’! It was pitiful. One evening my wife was served a 'Shank of veal' as a main course. It filled the plated about an inch thick comprising entirely of BONE & FAT. When questioned what was wrong, my wife explained, and she was offered another meal, but quite frankly she was put off by her experience. Additionally, I personally enjoy cheese following my meal. The amount served on the plate certainly would not have appeased a reasonably sized mouse! The wine as part of our all inclusive package was undrinkable. The self-service food quality and standard was appalling and not kept at reasonable temperatures. Hygiene, cleanliness of tables, seating etc, was very questionable too with only quick wipes of tables and remnants of food brushed onto floors and chairs! As for the cleanliness of the staff, their uniforms were in a dirty state and some were viewed with splits in trousers! As for deck bars, unless everyone had left the ship to go ashore service was virtually non-existent. One had to wait to be served at the bars as Bar Service waiters were at most times not present or insufficient. In the evenings, things were no better, and one constantly waited at the bars before being served. There appears to be no provision or training given to helping people with disabilities. We are made to queue as everyone else despite having restrictions in mobility and ability to stand for any period of time. Only once in the entire week onboard was I offered assistance in the self-service restaurant, a commendable gesture. However, on another occasion whilst walking around the self-service area, using a walking stick as always, I was made to back up by one of the staff as distinctly he would not give way to me. This was witness by another passenger who looked on in total disgust! Because of my limited mobility and after discussing and receiving a high recommendation from an onboard representative at the excursion office, my wife & I agreed and looked forward to an evening out for a Greek Night in Mykonos. We were to have left the ship at 5.00 pm for a 15-minute transfer by boat. A letter was delivered to our room with the timings. For whatever reason, we were late leaving the ship and arrived at the Mykonos port after 5.30 pm. We were all ushered off the transfer boat. After some commotion by the representatives we were herded onto another boat and taken across to the other side of the harbour. We were advised that it would save time! We arrived at our venue a few minutes before 6.00 pm. We were told originally dinner would be served 5.15/5.30 pm. We were at the Greek Night venue for just on an hour before being ushered out by 7.00 pm. The entertainment comprised of 2 people doing 2 short dances. Certainly nothing like our previous experience of Greek Nights. The food was tepid and diabolical. It comprised, a bowl with salad shared between two people. A plate was served to the table with a small amount of chicken on a stick and one similar of lamb, a couple slices of spiced sausage, with yoghurt a few chips. Of the six persons at our table, virtually all food served was returned uneaten. The dessert comprised of a small square of inedible sweet which was purported to be typically Greek. But, in my personal experience of Greek cuisine, I have never ever seen or tasted such! It was also stated that we would to be taken to see the sunset at a particular place but ended up after a short walk at about 7.15 pm on the harbour side as a group whilst the representative spoke to others in different languages. We missed the setting sun. We had to return to the ship via boat by 8.15 pm latest. For this we were charged an extortionate sum of 62.99 euros each, total 125.98 euros. Our previous experience of Greek Nights was excellent, enthralling and entertaining. This was a shamble and certainly not value for what we paid. We felt cheated. Having experienced this excursion we certainly would not book another, certainly not value for money. The shows onboard compared nothing to what we had experienced on previous cruises and cruise lines. One night comprised of a couple a songs being sung with a dozen other persons dressed up to the nines purporting to be dancers but just strolling and standing around looking pretty! Then we had to contend with the introduction of the Captain and Staff. The show element was no more than about 30 minutes! Embarkation was a mess with passengers waiting around for over two hours with no information as to what was happening! The ship had apparently docked late and previous cruise passengers were late getting off. We were only told this once on board. Disembarking was a fiasco again and being given the wrong information. On the surface the ship looked good but once you scraped away the surface paint, it left a great deal to be desired! Never again, we spoke with several other passengers who felt that they had been ripped off as clearly the service, quality/standards were not what MSC state and I quote “The MSC Cruises experience embodies the elegant side of the Mediterranean to create unique and unforgettable emotions for guests, through discovery of the world’s cultures, beauties and tastes. MSC Cruises translates its passion for the sea into a commitment to excellence in hospitality, professionalism, dedication and mastery of every single detail to ensure the complete happiness and satisfaction of each and every guest”. An absolute nonsense and certainly not what we had experienced. Lastly, at times communication was a problem in being understood and some staff were very rude indeed. Read Less

We had chosen celebrity as we were under the Impression they had the best most Morden ships that catered towards adults, and a focus on well being etc How wrong we where. Its full of children and the ship is so old and run down it was just so naff. You will not get a seat by the pool st any point during your stay and even if you did it will be ruined by screaming children and awful singers and party games. You’ll be charged 18% on every single bill, no matter how long it takes them to bring what ever you’ve asked for, which will most likely come wrong or cold The buffet restaurant is a absolutle zoo, you’ll be lucky to find a table let alone a clean one. The San Marco restaurant is trying to be 5^ food wise but it just isn’t the food is missing something, it’s not that it’s totally bland it just isn’t good enough for the price of the cruise. The ship needs some serious maintenance, paint all over every window in the restaurant and dreadful 80s decor. There’s nothing to do but drink and shop, and at every stage they will try to flog you something, usually a over priced Rolex or a photo package The tours are all over priced by 4x at least. We got a taxi transfer for €15 and celebrity wanted €60 each! You get around 8 hours in port if you get off the boat at 7 and return at the last on board time of 4ish The entertainment is quite good but very cruise ship, think singers who couldn’t make it past the live stages of X factor The other activities are all over priced, £39 to play bingo EACH! Everywhere is full of fat rude Americans which just makes matters worse. Awful holiday and I will never return. Read Less

My husband and I booked this cruise very last minute for our anniversary We have cruised with Royal Caribbean a few months ago and had very pleasant experience. Since Royal Caribbean was sold out, we decided to book with NCL because of the ports of call we were interested in. It was a completely different experience in a very negative way. Everything was so unorganized. Service was horrible. Entertainment was bad. Games shows were horrendous, no body even attended the games shows. Food was OK but then again the whole dining experience was so unorganized. You have to put your name down and you get a table 45 minutes later. They advertise on the website that the ship has a slide. Well, guess what?! it DOESNT. There are not much activities on the ship. It has a small pool and all the beds are usually taken. Guest services representatives who are supposed to help you and be the nicest ones, have major attitude. The cabin is OK size but ours smelled really bad when we boarded and there was a pluming problem that they ended up fixing. They don't even give you a bottle of wine for your anniversary. They just put a card in our room to take to dinner the night we decided to celebrate. We took the card and they brought us a cake that we did not even touch .The desert on the menu was better than this cake. The only thing I liked was t he LA CUCCINA specialty restaurant. The food was great and staff were very nice and friendly. I would not travel on NCL again, I felt more stressed and pissed off on this ship, instead of being relaxed and enjoying on my vacation and anniversary. Royal Caribbean was the best, there was not one nothing I can complain about. The ports of calls were good. We didn't purchase any shore excursions and you really don't need to. When you get off the ship, there are tours and taxis waiting and it's much cheaper. In Corfu, we did hop on - hop off for 20 euros a person. Read Less
