The excursions were fairly good and so was the food and servers. Everything else was horrible. The beauty salon was awful, terrible communication skills and high pressure staff, like your money was their personal piggy bank. The cabin steward was obviously so badly trained he put dirty sheets with bedbugs on the bed. The Reception staff customer service skills were horrible, assumptions like offers to clean luggage as though I brought the bedbugs aboard, nasty responses to tired travelers in a bad mood, that you’re a bum if you forgot to register a credit card early on instead of a courteous reminder. There was garbage, water leaks and construction debris in the halls most of the time. At one point at dinner, the air had the smell of Depends undergarments and I had to leave before I puked. On one tour, woman behind me rudely talked on phone making hearing the guide impossible but the guide refused to address it. Found a bug on the table after room service arrived once. If you like nightmares, MSC is your best bet. Read Less

The ship is very unorganized. The food was the same every day. Front desk clerk named Barbara Uchiyama was always scowling and treating guests without the least education and attention. The tours were disorganized. The guides hired by MSC knew almost nothing about the tours, reaching the height of not wanting to take us to the Mount of Olives in Israel because he preferred to take it to a store that certainly earns commission. The drinks level was 0.50 cents more to force you to pay for a higher plan. Suite members, who have a golden package, have no privileges on board or on board as mentioned at the time of purchase. The only space reserved for member Aurea spent half of the trip closed for maintenance. The cleanliness of the ship's toilets was deplorable Excursion outings were tumultuous and always with guides who did not speak the languages sold Read Less

Joined dream on 18 dec looking forward to visiting Bethlehem and Jerusalem for the Christmas period. We were on the ship for two weeks supposedly the whole itinerary since booking in September was changed we were not told about Jerusalem and Bethlehem stop even though the ship had been doing this for the last six weeks until we got on board so that the company did not have to refund us or compensate us for yet another change. Our cabin was absolutely disgusting there was vomit on the floor which had less stains on the carpet the beds were soiled with other peoples bodily fluid the head pillows were further soiled with blood and sweat and absolutely stunk after the first night in the cabin I developed breathing difficulties from the dirty tired air-conditioning. We spoke with guest relations manager and told him we needed to leave the ship due to the breathing difficulties I was experiencing thing on board. We left the cabin that day to return to find everything of our belongings were taken from the cabin the carpet been ripped up a brand-new carpet laid and glued down the fumes from the blue further exasperated my breathing problems but as there are no further cabins on board vacant they are unable to move us the ship further even due to my illness could not get off the ship for six days and even then they wanted me to pay for my own flights home when we had £200 in our on-board spend account. They agreed after speaking to their head office that we should pay for our own flights on our card and they would then refund us are on-board credit in cash we flew back to Cardiff and had to pay for hotel accommodation there before we could do our return journey back to London. The food on board the ship was absolutely diabolical the cheapest nastiest sausages bacon thick with fat or collect together frozen vegetables cheap wines and poor quality food chicken still on the bone , stale sandwiches with curled up edges for afternoon tea sausage rolls served warm with no sausage. Every day the buffet service was an absolute feeding frenzy with very dangerous hot serving trays which are sat into a bath of boiling water when you reach into the serving tray the steam comes out and burns you on your wrist and lower arms. The ship overall condition is poor and tired and dirty the rust inside and out is very apparent and the boat creeks and moans when she’s at sea . The pollution that she puts out is unbelievable and the smell of fumes within the ship is disgraceful. The Christmas decorations on board were absolutely pathetic with a small 3 foot blowup Santer being your main feature outside your restaurant door Christmas trees were about 4 1/2 foot 5 foot tall with old-fashioned tinsel and decorations randomly thrown on the tree the whole affect was cheap and shabby. I can only like in the bars and restaurant to a good old-fashioned working men’s club. The pool area even though it was really not hot enough to sit out but not supervised properly and the only thing they had adults could use with a hot tub there are signs up saying that children were not allowed in the hot tub and supervise yet every single day the hot tub is full of children with no adults in sight now we seem to care or do anything about it the ship was full of children with very little entertainment for them on a daily basis. The pool area even though it was really not hot enough to sit out was not supervised properly and the only thing the advice dogs could use where the hot tub is there are signs up saying that children were not allowed in the hot tub and supervise yet every single day the hot tubs were full of children with no adults in sight now we seem to care or do anything about it the ship was full of children with very little entertainment for them on a daily basis Since returning home I have been confined to bed with a lung infection in both lungs having to take antibiotics and steroids daily and rest this has been contracted through poor air-conditioning and is a ongoing serious issue at this precise moment. The ship did organise a private transfer for us to the airport so we didn’t have to go on the coach with the other passages I do actually think as much as we requested this it was probably in their best interest to do this to stop me spreading any kind of infection to other passengers I might of picked up on board the ship I arrived on the ship on the 18th of December fit and healthy. Staff of the ship are way too good to be subjected to what they have to work with there all cheerful smiley bright personable people and way too good to be on the dream. I’m so sorry that I cannot add photographs to this but writing it on my mobile phone it does not give me the facility to upload the photographs of the disgusting cabin and other little treats around the ship Read Less

we choose this ship because of the itinerary We wanted to see venice and hearing they might close the port we decided to go for it now..Unfortunately before we could go the water problems happened but as of the week prior to our trip msc assured us we would be sailing out of venice.. We found out we would be bused to trieste when we arrived at the port on sailing day--no email or text- However they were not prepared for this and didn t have the buses to transport so we had to wait several hours with no one knowing what was happening Finally after 2 !/2 hours arrived at ship Immediately barraged by a line of servers pushing the drink pkg We had purchased a package but were now informed it only included a few choices We had already upgraded to a suite that didn t include any perks so we upgraded Our room was very nice-lots of closets space and drawers and I proceeded to unpack as is my usual. When I returned to the room later to get dressed I opened my drawer and my personal items were missing-empty space on one side of the drawer. Went to customer service and reported- told to come back after they consulted superviser and they may want to do a room search I kept going back and it became a joke that they were all getting a laugh out of . finally insisted on speaking to supervisor and was taken back to our room with 2 security people who did a thorough room search-was told had to consult corporate. A missing item form that i filled out the first day was left on my bed the last morning and i was told someone would be in touch with me.. I did the survey when we returned as instructed and no one has contacted me nor can i get through on any web site. We overspent on this "once in a lifetime cruise" and regret it. Our bed linens were not changed the entire week altho he did keep the bathroom very clean, the quality of the food was not good and when we called to ask for our tissues to be replaced because my allergies were extremely bad, we were told we weren't eligible to get any even tho we were in a suite. The ship seemed to go downhill as the week went on. We did get to see wonderful sights and places but I wouldn't recommend this ship to anybody. We cruise quite often and have been on msc seaside which impressed us with the cleanliness and attention. most likely we won't be using msc as a vacation again. I have tried every web site I can find to contact and hit walls Very very poor To end this we again were bused out of trieste back to venice port and were just left in an empty parking lot (since the port was closed) with no means of transportation our of the port except walking a long distance carting all our luggage out of the port to the people mover to get into venice city to get a cab to our hotel There were maybe 3 msc employees who didn t seem to know any more than we did. A wonderful ending Read Less

SO DISAPPOINTED !! My husband and I were on our 20th Aniversary, we normally travel the first week of December. We arrived at Venece to embark and the first surprize we recieved was an unexpected 2 hour bus drive from Venece to Triste, no advance warning not even a bottle of water were we offered, much les an apology. We had booked the Aurea package directly over the phone, this being the most expensive package we were told drinks were included amoung other incentives, once on board the first thing we were told was that our package only covered drinks up to 6 Euros and 90% of the beverages cost more than the 6€ so we decided to upgrade our already expensive package. The ship only has 2 restaurantes aside from the buffet on the 13th floor and a Specialty Oriental Food Restaurant which wasn't included obviously. Food was HORRIBLE, we came to learn that apparently the ship would be on mantenance after this trip so it seems as though we were being given all that was left over on the ship in order to get rid of what hadn't been consumed on other ships. Chicken in wine sauce on day, chicken in curry sauce the next, chicken a la meditarena the other day, chicken and lamb in every which way you could imagine possible. We booked an excusion in Athens, the bus driver hit a taxi driver from behind, I asked to see the doctor once we were on board and was told that I'd have to pay separatly to have my head checked out after the crash, this is how MSC takes care of their customers, another excusion in Corfu riding Jeep and there were no Jeeps available for us so we were told we would could be provided with a shuttle bus to town but weren't sure that they could provide transportacion back, seriously. Entertainment was limited to one evening show at the theater, worst shows you'll ever see on a cruise ship. Costumes were old and music couldn't be enjoyed it just sounded like a really bad band playing from a box. Due to the problem in Venece with the rising water levels we'll be arriving at Trieste, Italy again at 8am on Sunday, our flights at noon, we asked to be provided with an early desembark in order to make it on time to our flight, the answer we recieved, we'll have to wait and see what is posible .... again seriouly !!! In a nutshell ... we've done many cruises but will NEVER again will we do a MSC CRUISE !!! PS. Our bed sheets had to be changed 3 times because of dirty sheets .... check your beds before lying in them !!!! Or better yet DON'T CRUISE WITH MSC CRUISES !!!!!! Read Less

We chose this cruise as it was a small ship (660 passengers), was visiting places we wanted to see, and was when we were in Europe visiting other countries. Firstly our cabin was obviously designed for twin beds but the turned it into a double. What this meant was that when your pillow was in the wrong position it hit the light switch and turned all the cabin lights on. This happened several times over the 12 days. Also we were on the 4th floor above the gangway on the 3rd floor, every time we docked we were awoken by banging, crashing, and even one morning by an angle grinder as they prepared for disembarkation in port. One excursion we got absolutely soaked getting from the ship to the bus and had to sit for seven hours in wet squelchy clothes- not good. As it was a small ship you had only one choice of entertainment each night and it was hit and miss as to quality. The acoustics in the dining room were so noisy that my poor father, who wears hearing aids, couldn’t have them turned on so missed out on conversations in the end we had buffet dinners. Also when did you go to a fine dining restaurant and have Purcel squirted into your hands as you entered??? No free bottled water??? Even on the trains in Europe you get a free bottle of water, also free in every hotel - no Princess wanted USD $7 for a bottle of water !!! We have decided that as a family we are never going on a cruise again Read Less

Finally arrived home late last nite after a scary experience with MSC. first time and last time with that company. Ship is filthy. embarking is very unorganized and filled with long lines and no drinks or snacks. No one meets you and handles your bags either. our itinerary was changed 4 times....never got to Israel- the reason we took this cruise- they subbed it for Istanbul instead....never got to Venice and docked 2 hours away from Venice and got everyone to the airport late and did not care. Ship is filthy- no had sanitizers were filled- all empty. not required either. yuk!!! buffet floor was gross and so were the tables and chairs on the entire ship. The staff are rude, and just don't care. The shows are like middle school shows- we went to one ad that was enough. No onboard activities on sea days. Food is terrible and plates and silverware is dirty. Food choices were minimal and meats were disgusting. Cabins were not cleaned and bedding was old and shower had lots of mold and water problems. do not take mac...there are many ships out there and this was the worst. i am done with that company. having done 23 other cruises this was the worst one,and one of the most expensive, tha cabin was very good, clean and comfortable, the public rooms were nice and good service, but thats were it stops, the 2 bars with entertainment was very poor, very armaturish, the shows well thery were terrible not worth watching,i felt embarased to watch them.moveing on to the food its was like hospital food, poorly cooked very salty, bad menu planning and poor quality of meat.for 6 meals in a row they seved pork neck, diferent ways but they hadent been trained hoew to cook it,it was as tough as old boots.one night i complaned to the chef the meat selection was, pork neck chicken leg, meat loaf, and a sausage stew(which was also on at lunchtime) finding a table was like a allin wrestling compertition, and having bought the drinks package it was so difficult to get served so one had to go to the bar yourself(when you rang the bell on the table nobody came) aslo it is very anoying the amount of selling they do tables set up eveywhere, even in the afternoon over the tanoy of bargains to be had in the shops which were always on the move into lounges etc overall a very poor experience and i woud recomend you to avoid this ship Read Less

We wanted to cruise to the Greek islands and chose MSC Magnifica. After the first night my daughter woke up with several bug bites. We moved to a second cabin were she managed to trap a bed bug and take it to customer service. Someone came to inspect the cabin and it must have been heavily infested as we were forced to move immediately although it was past midnight. The third cabin was below the pool deck and we couldn’t sleep due to people jogging or walking all through the night and the movement of furniture beginning at 6:00 am. On the fourth cabin we found bed bugs on two different occasions, one we found on the pillow and killed it and it was full of blood. MSC compensation for all the aggravation; lack of sleep, rest and relaxation; packing and unpacking; bug bites; and damaged clothing sent to laundry: a mere $240, even though it was also disputed with their Miami office. Avoid this ship and this cruise line by all means! Venice is a great departure port. Lots of history, art, St Mark’s Cathedral and Square. Embarkation did not go very smoothly. They couldn’t find our reservation and when they finally did about 2 hours later their system had a glitch and that cabin was not available until the next evening and we stayed in a lower category cabin for the night. Disembarkation was very smooth and did not take very long. The dining was average, servers were very good but very slow. The dining room didn’t had too many choices on the menu. The entertainment was very good, especially for a smaller ship like Magnifica. The service was very good especially our cabin attendant. The ports and shore excursions were excellent, beautiful ports and an ample supply of excursions to choose from. Because of our experience with bed bugs and customer service I will never choose another cruise with MSC. Read Less

As I've travelled on Carnival, Princess, Holland America and others, this is a comparison to these lines. This was a nightmare. Twelve days and nights of misery. The cabin was supposed to be a room for 3 adults but immediately found there were 2 twin beds and a love seat. Customer service said there was a drop-down bunk bed only, for which a disabled 70 year old had to climb into. No way to suddenly cancel at this point since already in Rome. If there'd been a full size couch, my roommate could have slept there. As it was he sat up the whole trip. The "Entertainment" was not entertaining and 3rd class, a juggler who couldn't juggle among other poor acts. The movies they played were not newly released plus they showed same movie 3 times rather than getting a variety. To rent a movie for the room, it was the same reruns they were showing at movie theater and cost $11.99! The gym was decent. The library was miniscule but at least I found enough to get me through the 3 days at sea. Their excursions could have been good but buses to the sites were barely staggered, so everyone arrived about the same time and caused people to be fighting for a turn at the minimal restrooms. Some tour busses did not bother to give but 1 bathroom break in 6 hrs causing a friend to accidently pee on herself. Then she was unable to get out to view the Western Wall and other sites because she smelled and was embarrassed. I'd also never seen the amount of people who got lost on their tours because guides did not give good information, or even hold up their "lollipops" so people could find them. One group lost 10 people. Food preparation and service in Tides was so slow it took 1 - 1 1/2 hrs to get a meal and quite often they brought the wrong order. Holland America has free lobster but Tides charge $29.99. Windjammer was not open decent hours like other cruise ships, the food pretty mediocre but at least one didn't wait forever to get the food. There was a good variety. Room service was not free here like other ships. They would bring you some grits and coffee and minimal objects for free though. Music was played at full blast all hours. Actually made the walls of my cabin vibrate. The beds in cabin had hard mattresses about 4 inches thick so you feel the metal underneath and the pillows were heavy, hard and lumpy. Ship was decorated in wall art that must have cost a few dollars each, just ugly and stupid. Only good thing on the ship was the infirmary, which treated me for an eye injury sustained in the tiny, tiny bathroom. They called twice to check up on me too. Read Less

If you want to pay a lot for a low-cost rip-off cruise in a dated ship and very few activities - this is the ship for you. Six 1 liter bottles of water for 39 USD?? come on. We were on a family vacation (4 families with young kids) and booked a cruise via an agent (who was supposed to help find the right ship) on a home for the elderly cruise with cheap food, very little activities and dated design. If it was not a multi family trip I would have just disembarked with my family on the third day and fly back home. I would have never believed i am boarding a low cost rip-off cruise where if you want to have something eatable for dinner you must pay extra. We had several main complaints - Food - huge amount of low quality food, no proper salads, no health food, very very disappointing!! you have healthier food at McDonald's. Agent in Israel - not nice and not informative. would not help or give basic detail on the ship (like the type of electric sockets in the room, activities... we will definitely take the time to give them the worst review online once i am done with this survey to warn others). Up Sales - 6 bottles of water for 39 USD?? come on. we don't consume much sugar and do not drink fuzzy drinks, so only water which came at an insane cost. video arcade that charges 2 USD per game - no wonder it was empty the entire trip. The rooms were not clean - mainly under the beds, the railing of the balcony door, minibar in both rooms was not cooling. at that point we got tired of complaining. Pools - very small pools with one small pathetic water slide. no indoor kids pool for colder days. our neighborhood pool has more facilities and a private pool at home is bigger. Activities - no real activities for kids, no space for the kids to play next to the parents while the adults are having a break. in general, handling the kids on the cruise was a nightmare, we were lucky we brought our own games from home. Some good things - Service was very good especially from the dinner restaurant staff. the crew is well organised and managed. The experience with them was so bad, i prefer to spend my money somewhere else. SO SO VERY DISAPPOINTED!! Royal Caribbean may have got us tricked and got our money this time, but we will learn for the future and not trust this company again. Read Less

Despite my friends and work colleagues telling me to stear clear of this company, the Itinerary was the thing that I required...Venice and Greek Islands. I had booked a late flight back after the cruise so I could go on the Venice Excursion...All booked last year. The embarkation process was a nightmare with people pushing, shoving like animals. No organised lines. 4 hours to get from the embarkation point to the boat...150 feet!!..I booked a balcony cabin on the 11th deck and it was tiny. This was the fantastica experience. there was nothing fantastic about it. The shower cubicle was tiny, whole cabin tiny. It is amazing what PHOTOSHOP can do with a picture. The boat was filled with thick smoke as the Italians and Germans smoked in restaurants, bars, pool decks, corridors, lifts, everywhere despite notices. The buffet would have failed food and hygiene standards as the food was usually luke warm if you were lucky. People behaved in an appalling way, snatching food, pushing in, expletives in whatever language. The boat holds just under 3000 people and less than 100 were English speaking. Because of this, MSC cancelled one of our trips and gave them out to other nationalities because their guide couldn`t speak English. When I wrote a complaint to the head of the excursion team (Stating that the terms and conditions say that smaller groups will be placed with multilingual guides and I also stated that MSC had made an assumption that none of its UK citizens can speak another language - I speak portuguese) the complaint, though handed to her in person, was LOST....REALLY!!...The entertainment was worse than you would get at a cheap holiday camp and lasted half hour. All announcements were made in 5 different languages with English being last...unfortunately we couldn`t hear the announcements as other loud nationalities would start shouting and talking after they heard their announcement. So, I ended up paying £2800 for a week on a floating ashtray with rude people, terrible food, no excursions and didn`t even get to see Venice as the boat arrived late and the excursions people would not advise me how to get to the city centre and instead made me and my friends sit on a concrete bollard by the coaches for an hour before realising they had forgotten about us. we then spent 11 hours at Venice airport....I IMPLORE ANYONE THINKING OF USING THIS COMPANY - PLEASE DON`T...you will regret it....they are not ready to break into the UK market. Perhaps when sailing from Southampton, they are different but I have been on numerous cruise lines and I have never encountered such a shambolic company. Even the ship itself looks ugly...like a giant old tower block. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED... Read Less

Choose this cruise as dates fitted with school holidays.we're do I start! embarkation was very disorganised and took over an hour.when we arrived at our cabin there was a letter saying the itinary had been changed due to unscheduled maintenance activity which would slightly reduce our speed when I went to reception was told all agents had been informed I phoned my agent and spoke to other passengers and they hadn't been informed. As a result of the change we were docking two hours later which meant we were going to miss out flight.Reception staff kept telling us they would find a solution and to go back in a couple of days .I'm the meantime we carried on with our cruise, bar staff on the pool deck are very rude also in the buffet .food was terrible wasn't very hot and very repetitive we never used the main dining room so can't comment.back to reception for our solution to get home well basically it was our own fault as we'd only given ourselves two hours fifty five minutes for our flight so they gave us a list of flights we could get at our own expense if they'd told us this was their solution to begin with we could have got direct flights home instead we had to fly to Manchester and hire a car to drive to edinburgh to retrieve our car from edinburgh airport we arrived home ten hours later than we were supposed to.reception staff were very rude it was like they had a script to read of .Seemingly the ship had been in dry dock in June and in my opinion should have stayed there a member of staff told us this late docking and shorter stats in port has been going on for weeks.I had sailed on msc twice before this so thought it would be ok but will never sail msc ever again. I have been on 21 cruises, 11 with Celebrity and 10 with RCCL, so I know how Celebrity standards should be and what they weren't on this cruise. The Constellation was built in 2002 and it shows. She is going into refurb in March 2020, but only for cosmetic updates and not mechanical fixes. In the meantime, Celebrity is doing NOTHING to keep the ship in good condition. There is visible rust everywhere, the furnishings around the ship are very worn, the balcony furniture looks like it came from a garage sale. For room service one morning, I was served moldy berries. Gross! The room service food was hit or miss, but mostly missed the mark for quality, accuracy of the order, and hot food. The cabins on deck 11 are Aqua Class, and they are not part of the original design. The rooftop terrace with the outdoor movie theater is directly above these rooms and they have movies blaring 12 hours a day, every day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and you can hear the noise from the balcony but not from inside the room. This was a really bad idea to shove Aqua Class rooms in this location. Blu restaurant is insufficiently staffed. It was difficult to have a meal in less than 1 1/2 to 2 hours. If you tried to get a table between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m., there was 1 to 1 1/2 hours to wait. This was unacceptable and frustrating. Since Celebrity added the cabins on Deck 11, there is now too many people in Aqua Class to fit into Blu. The Oceanview Cafe (buffet) food has improved a bit, but the dining room is so very hot, so I ate outside whenever possible. The ports on this itinerary were great! The shore excursions are ridiculously priced through Celebrity if you book closer to the cruise date, but I booked my excursions as soon as they were released, so the pricing was fair. Some excursions tripled in price by the time of the sailing. The quality of the excursions was very good and enjoyable. The downside is the motor coach experience because there's so many people. If you don't have a Celebrity tour, they charge $5 to $15 for port shuttles into town. This is another nickle and dime tactic that I don't appreciate. Transportation from the ship should be free. The theater shows were not very good and it seems Celebrity is cutting back on quality here. Karen is the shore excursions director and oftentimes she was giving us the wrong information about the ports, but you didn't realize it until you got to the port. Her presentations of the ports were unorganized and scattered. Graeme, the Captain's Club host, was a delightful fellow and very helpful. He has a great personality and lots of smiles. This will be my last sailing in the Millennium class of ships. I'll stick to Solstice class ships. Read Less

This was our first, and last, cruise with MSC. Having been on MANY cruises from the US to many different ports including international ports, this was a great disappointment. The food was below our standards in dining room as well as buffets. Often times it was barely warm and the taste left a lot to be desired in comparison to Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruises. The entertainment was mostly a waste of time. We spent more time on our balcony than anywhere on the ship. In all of my years pf traveling, never had I encountered so many rude people onboard. Lots of physically pushing, shoving, and making fun of others. The embarkation was not well organized at all, unless you spoke their language that is. The best part of our cruise was returning to Bari and the wonderful lady who cleaned our cabin. She was super nice and the only blessing on the ship for me. My travel companion enjoyed the spa features as well. Everything else was below our standards and a waste of money. The excursions were rushed and poorly organized. Very little time left to explore or shop. One tour guide was extremely rude to several passengers and yet nothing was done about it. One port was understandably canceled due to weather. The second port had an excursion cut short due to a strike with the bus company. When we complained and asked for a partial refund, it was denied and replaced with a bottle of wine and plate of snacks. We don’t drink at all and don’t eat caviar and the like. The excursion to the hidden beach and caves was not depicted accurately. The beach was a stoney area with a sign of danger - falling rocks. The cave was barely big enough to get a small boat into it and lasted less than 5 minutes. I have been in many caves that were far more interesting and had a lot to look at. This was a rip off! I would not recommend this company to ANYONE! WB Read Less

My wife and I have been on dozens of cruises on almost all the major lines. This company is part of the Royal Caribbean/Celebrity family of companies. The cost of Azamara is at least double of Celebrity for the same size of room and three times the cost of Royal Caribbean. They are using cost to imitate a high end cruise line, sorry Azamara, you’re a long way from being a top tier line. Pros: Cabin attendant service was good, especially after a nice tip to start the cruise. Food service was good and the attitude of the servers was good. The White Night party was fun with good entertainment. While there was not any big shows, the entertainers they did have were very good. Food was OK, but not at the level of Celebrity. Bar service was good and the “free” drinks were OK. Buses for the shore excursions were good. The Captain was very communicative except then the rockets were exploding over our ship in Israel. Cons: Shore Excursions were very poor and not well defined. The ship was sold as Israel Intensive so we booked many excursions. However, after the first excursion we learned that the next day was almost an exact repeat of the one we just completed. The Shore Excursion desk offered (with no luck) to sell our tickets but would not let us change to a different tour. They hid behind the 48 hour cancellation policy. It didn’t matter that their Excursion people on the phone booked the tours and told us they were much different. I would have expected a RCL company to stand behind their own mistakes, but they don’t have that quality of executives. The Shsore Excursions that we took were mediocre at best. Room size is way too small and the furniture is too big for the room, look at this before booking as we had the biggest room not being a suite. Even the comedians made fun of the room size. Conclusion: Either book a Celebrity Cruise or spend more and go to Crystal or one of the high end cruises. This is actually the low end of the RCL company at a ridiculous price. Read Less

We just went on this ship in September 2019. I have sailed on many cruise ships and this one, in particular, showed its age and wear and tear. So many things not working and broken on the ship. My suggestion to Royal Carribean is to remodel this ship. It is so outdated. I can rant and rave but that's, not my purpose. The food in comparison to other cruises I have had with Royal Carribean was substandard at best. I hate to talk about bad food as the world starves with hunger. So I make comparisons with my other cruises with Royal Carribean and other cruise lines. It was so sub-standard we chose to eat off the ship as much as we could. The cabin vibrated at night and it shuddered and rattled. We were told the ship was sailing at 20 knots and it is an older ship. There newer ships do not provide that experience Our cruise was saved by the excellent service and the ship is really clean but not well maintained. The destinations were amazing. Royal Carribean, we have had 5 cruises with you before. Very disappointed and maybe its time to try a more upmarket cruise company that cares. Great job on the service. Terrible ship Read Less

It was on our bucket list to go on a cruise. Having chosen the MSC line and wanting to go on a cruise to include the Greek islands MSC seemed a good choice however from admission in them sun at 13.30 in Venice being treated as sheep at the dock was a bad start. No greeting by happy staff. A muddle through check in and on to a shabby ship. Very run down. During our cruise every time we docked and got on board again was a total nightmare. Security staff never smiled or greeted guests with exception of I think SA staff. Total shambles. The rest were surly individuals. In the restaurants the majority of the staff initially appeared untrained and only at the end were getting into their stride. One night at about 23.30 and still having dinner, as the second sitting took a long time to serve, there was a fire alert after a few power failures. The staff all went into panic, not knowing what to do. No control and allowing guests to use the lifts and chaos reigned. Eventually the captain spoke and he too sounded in a panic. We were not able to visit Mykonos due to bad weather but no alternative was given or perhaps even some sort of small compensation for missing out on a port of call. Entertainment was repetitive. Very disappointing trip. Read Less

The worst service we have ever received on more than 50 holidays. Bad food, bad service with no eye contact or a care for the customer and you pay for everything - literally nothing is added for the enjoyment of the customer. We were an inconvenience to the staff. The waiters could not be bothered to offer a service. We queued for half an hour- glad we didn’t get the drinks package-we would still be waiting to get value for money. You literally get sober waiting for another drink. There is a sewage smell throughout the walkway and cabins at times. The waiters are rude, the eating areas are not kept clean. There was blackouts which left the ship feeling hot and stuffy. Two people we were travelling with were feeling sick and there was engine issues which made the boat sway from side to side. We don’t mind rough seas, but this is a Mediterranean cruise. Our kids who normally love kids club, thought the entertainment was not great as they felt hot and cramped in the small space. The quality of air on this cruise is terrible. We felt hypoxic as there is a lack of oxygen. Safe your $ and choose a different cruise line. Unless you enjoy talking for hours on end about how bad a cruise you had. So glad we are getting off today. MSC Masters of the sea??? Perhaps Masters of Bad Service. It would remiss to not add that Natalia at Guest Services was excellent. The only person besides Adi our room attendant that know how to treat a customer. No one else deserves their positions. There are no leadership on this cruise. No team work. How MSC is in business is a mystery. Read Less

This was honestly the worst cruise I’ve ever been on. It was truly awful. I had my two children with me as we couldn’t get away during the summer holidays due to work commitments. This cruise is not family friendly at all. 1. Not once was the climbing wall open 2. The indoor pool bans kids between 2-5pm covering a good part of the hot part of the day. I pay the same amount of money as everyone else, I should have the access to the same facilities. 3. The kids food at the buffet was rock hard and quite frankly absolutely bogging. It had obviously been out for a very long time. On the final day you can expect no kids buffet. 4. The pool tiles are broken and one of them actually cut my sons foot.. it’s very obvious it’s about a foot wide. The staff are friendly but the entertainment is like butlins. It’s really loud, you can’t sit at the pool and have a conversation with someone without some game show rubbish or having to listen to some pub quiz. If butlins is your thing, this is for you. Also, as a footnote, I not only saw the cruise director speak to a member of staff like crap but also the deputy cruise director do the same.. uncomfortable. Much of the entertainment was awkward and just so over the top it was ridiculous. I witnessed bar staff being rude to kids when they were asking for things at the bar. Just no need. It was overall a really poor experience and despite cruising with TUI 7 times now I won’t be going with them again. I certainly would never recommend this for a family. Read Less

I have been on numerous cruises With various cruiselines over the years but I have never been on a cruise as BAD as this! Dirty cabin, dirty food halls, overcrowding, rude staff, the list goes on! Spend your well earned cash on a more reputable company because MSC falls way beyond poor value. I shouldn’t have to ask for a clean cabin, I shouldn’t have to ask for for clean linen, cutlery and crockery at the restaurants, But yet I did! Overcrowding on sundeck to the point where you can’t walk along as everywhere was blocked and not to mention the extreme danger and fire hazard that is created by allowing people to block fire exits. Not a good company, would never travel with them again and would certainly never recommend them to others. So if you have worked hard all year and looking for a lovely cruise, don’t book with MSC! Nothing but stress from start to finish! Read Less

We are a family of 4, been cruising for several years now. Was our first time on mein schiff 6 and definetely the last. The advertisments for this cruise show smiling people having a good time but none such person was in sight on this cruise. In all our travel we have never experienced anything like that. During the whole week we were treated like rubbish by other passengers. Our son was even physically abused by an old man in the pool. He pushed him under the water and smashed him to the wall of the pool. All of this happened because a 10yr old boy splashed some water while swimming. By the way the man was over 1m away. When reported we were told that the man was pissed off. As if it is acceptable to physically and verbally abuse children. Cruise personnel were helpful and polite. Food choice was good. Hygiene excellent. Balcony cabin was small for 4 persons. Was always clean and ready. No entertainment during the day which made days at sea boring. Shore excursions were taken with maltese rep. Most passengers we met were selfless and arrogant, so to all people who would like a nice relaxing holiday for the family don't even try to consider going on a Mein schiff. Mein schiff is catered for german people only and not for any other nationality. Read Less

American Airlines Cruise recommend this cruise and for that they will never get my business again. I have been on numerous cruises Carnival, Princess, NCL & Celebrity and I would pick any of these any day. We booked an Aura Suite because we wanted this to be a trip to be first class, but we got 3rdclass besides the private sunning area. We were suppose to get priority embarking and disembarking, we got non of that, they can't even put a bottle of free water in your suite even though we didn't have to pay for it on the boat. There was nothing special that you get paying a lot more. The food was terrible and the only good meal we had to pay an extra $20 euro for a steak which I have never seen in the regular dinning room and only at a specialty dinning. We stopped going to dinner and eating off the boat and bring on food as much as possible. The buffet was worse and the only thing that was edible was the French fries, pizza was marginal. The service in the dinning room was great and at the bar and casino, our cabin steward was also great, the customer desk was another thing, long lines and lack of information or help. Getting on and off the boat was a nightmare, no organization and fights almost broke out due to lack of staff and information on how to get off. They charge for every transport to get off the ship which I had never encountered before. It took so much time to get off the boat at some ports by the time you got off you almost had to get back on. When I booked it stated 1 day at sea and we wound up with two and shorter times in the ports. Mykonos we pulled in at 8pm and left at 3 AM, what the hell can you see at that time when it takes an hour to get off the boat. The entertainment if that is what you called it was like high school musical, there was limited in the other areas and at the pool if you didn't want to learn to dance or do aerobics you were out of luck. Their few games they had were horrible and the same stuff everyday. I don't remember anything really happening at the pool at night. I am sorry but I have been on small and older Carnival ships that outclassed this ship or it amenities. After spending so much money on a suite and this cruise, I will never cruise this line again even if the other ship are new and great. This cruise nickels and dimes you and gives you nothing.
