After 16 cruises with Royal Caribbean in three and a half years (Diamond Members), I can say without a doubt that this is probably our last RCL cruise. Unfortunately, I can also honestly say they probably don't care and won't notice. Our first cruise on the Jewel was marginal at best for the ship but great for the ports so when we saw this cruise to the Holy Land, we booked it. While on the Harmony a month before we left for Europe, we found a great deal in the "Next Cruise" office for a back to back on Jewel so we grabbed it. BIG MISTAKE!! The cruise director and her activities director are screeching, pompous people that care nothing about the guests but only their own "spot light". Since most activities are packed around a small Centrum so you can't walk through the ship without hearing those phonies screaming. The customer service desk was given a nick name of Dr. NO by another guest and I could see why. Our second balcony was tiny, the drapes were ripped, the little two seat love seat they wedge in there was torn and dirty, the closet door was broken and nailed twice and nailed a third time after we spoke with our Loyalty manager who was great. We asked for extra sheets and covered up the dirty love seat. It was an adjoining bedroom and they hammered a love seat in it so they could rent is as a cabin. The bartenders were great, the food staff was great, our cabin attendants were great but you could really tell the house keeping and hotel manager never walked through the cabins. Upper level management at RCL think only of $$$. The loyalty only flows from the guests to the company and not the other way. As I mentioned, we will probably not sail RCL again and they really don't care. Read Less

We chose MSC cruises based on their "family friendly" policies and although the reviews weren't great we were willing to give it a go. I have previously cruised with many other lines, however these were all pre-children and so i was interested to see if this was going to be a good way to travel with a small child. I will state that not all my findings were within MSC's control and some things are observations that will hopefully assist others when planning their trips. Some things i never in my life thought would be annoy me...but did, perhaps i am not so easy going now i've entered motherhood! MSC boats appear to have 2 family rooms, these are a such a perk when booking with young children, on the Sinfonia these are rooms 9002 and 9006. They are at the very front of the boat and give you a bedroom and a sitting room (that can be converted to another bedroom). Plenty of storage and loads of rooms travel cots. I pre-booked a travel cot via email before travelling. When reading the pre-boarding FAQ's it did say you are meant to declare pushchairs upon booking, but when i rang them prior to our trip they said this was unnecessary...which brings me to the first "annoyance" Their website is rubbish, lots of misinformation...such as timings for the baby and mini club. Advertised Mini Explorer tours for some of the ports we were visiting but not available when going to check on excursions, when i emailed to ask they said to keep checking back as it may open up closer to disembarkation time. These were never available on this boat so might be worth bearing in mind if it's something that is swaying your decision to book with them. Embarkation in Venice was ok, you get to the terminal and then go on a bus to the actual check in, after that it was fairly quick, we embarked after 2 so our cabin was ready and our cruise cards were available. The muster was awful, we got there on time but it didnt seem to start until the last person arrived (30 minutes later) and took almost an hour to complete, 30 minutes of which is explaining everything in 5 different languages. The buffet closes in the evenings from 4 until 7, we didn't realise this would be the case every night and it was tricky to feed the little people...the grill is open, offering burgers, hot dogs, chips and pizza. There is a small selection on healthier food available as well. No highchairs in these areas though. We ended up eating in the restaurant in the end as they had special children's menus available, this wasn't our plan originally as we were worried about taking them into a formal setting every night but actually it was fairly nice and they behaved well. The worst part of this cruise was the tenders, they were very disorganised. In MSC's defence, it was a slow process due to the weather conditions but there was no real communications or estimates and this made it extremely frustrating. First tender in Santorini took almost 3hrs from when they expected us to leave on our tender number to when we actually made it to the tender, we spent 40 minutes queuing in the stairwell with 2 (tired, over crowded and fed up) toddlers and in the end i found it so overwhelming that i ended up crying. Thankfully the very short time we have remaining to explore Santorini made it worth it, but it is certainly something that i would not like to experience again. Tender off at Sarande was not much better but i think we were more prepared for it. We did not go to the waiting area until they started to call and thankfully as we were on earlier tenders we managed to get off fairly quickly. The major issue experienced was the complete lack of organisation, people waiting everywhere, later number numbers clogging the entrance and not allowing people to pass, later numbers in with the earlier numbers causing some anger amongst other guests. If they adopt n approach similar to disembarkation it would be much easier. People in general were fairly rude, elevators were a nightmare (one of the things i didn't think i'd moan about!), people press the button to close the doors as soon as they open, preventing entry. If you are in there they push and push as many people in as possible and they do not make it easy for you to get out on your floor. My baby got backpacked in the face a couple of times and i managed to not to lash out, so i'm proud of that! You have to book into all but the first and last show, for most this will be fine, but we didn't know what timings we following being out of routine, we did manage to see a few though and our small people LOVED the shows! I thought they were fairly good but this could be more the joy of seeing how excited my little was watching them. Most of the staff on board seemed friendly enough, appreciate that English isn't their first language and most made an effort. The guys in the restaurant made a real effort at dinner times. The food was OK, not as bad as most make it out to be, portions are small but this was enough for us. Our 3 year old went to the mini cub a couple of times and enjoyed it, i took the baby to baby club (where the parent stays with them) a couple of times and there was a good selection on chicco toys to play with and the place is very clean. I didn't leave the baby in the babycare service, it's not something i am comfortable doing. The timings on the website do not match the timings available on the ship, it may differ per MSC trip but it made it tricky to determine when you would use it. It's not as available during the sea days as it is when in port, which seems odd as this is when we need to entertain them more. Disembarkation - due to the weather we were unable to go to Venice and had to be re-routed to Treist, from previous experiences on the tenders we anticipated this to be a nightmare but actually it was fairly good. they assigned colours and asked you to wait in specific lounges at specific times and this was adhered to and was fairly easy to get off the boat.As we then had to bus back to Venice they put on different buses to the port or airport, so we were able to go straight back to the airport where we had booked our hotel. All in all, it was a good way to see lots of places with small people in tow, but i perhaps chose a cruise that had too many stops and it was a fairly hectic itinerary. I'm also not sure I would chose to travel with MSC again. Read Less

This cruise had good reviews but now I realize the reviews are from Royal Caribbean lifers. FYI if you have kids the ship attracts a majority of older people. There was only 1 main dining room aside from the buffet. I felt pressured to pay extra to eat at the specialty dining rooms because the salespeople were always standing at the entrance to the buffet. Cleaning was poor, I found false eyelashes on my bed when we checked in. They hide the vegetarian and Indian menus in the main dining room. You have to ask if there are any other menu options. Our server asked us to give them good reviews which made us uncomfortable. The chef and the cooks somehow made everything taste similar. On the bright side we didn't gain any weight. Our rooms smelled musty. The first night I could not sleep, there was a terrible noise possibly from the engine. The second night about 6 of us stood in the hallway talking about the noise. The ship sent someone to investigate and it got better. We were on level 3. Entertainment was good except for the jugglers which were silly and boring. Overall do not recommend. One of our excursions was cancelled and the staff at the excursions desk was very helpful. I also found the staff to be more into talking to each other than into helping us. The guys pushing the coffee cart kept power walking by us without a word. It took me 2 days to realise they had coffee and tea and I could ask them to stop by my table. Read Less

We noticed a difference in Service just since our last Norwegian Baltic Cruise in 2017. At first, it was subtle differences like short staff in the dining rooms, failure of wait staff to enter orders to the kitchen and also no towel art. Towel art is insignificant but just a sign of not going beyond expectation to make passengers feel special. The perceived amenities like special dining package, free Wi-Fi and unlimited drinks are nothing but a marketing tool to get bookings and of no or very little value. The specialty dining package had a service fee of $15 per person per meal. That is not FREE. We did not use it. False advertising. The Wi-Fi package was free but only 250 minutes. We bought a full Wi-Fi service package on board for $89 but the majority of the time, it was too slow or unavailable… Turned out to just be a frustration. The free adult beverage package that we got had service fees as well. Actually wasn’t free. The final assault was the last port of Dubrovnik (which is the high light port) was by passed due to technical or mechanical issues or something. It was never explained except to advise us we would be sailing straight back to Venice for two days at sea. We were informed that each passenger would receive a $100 credit on their account which we assumed would be credited to our credit card. We found out later that the credit was just spendable credit at the ship stores which were then closed. That is disgraceful. The trip had 5 ports of call. It canceled one which was not the passengers fault. If they wanted to show appreciation to their valued customers, the offer should be a 20% refund b/c twenty percent of the ports were missed. To offer $100 per person was cheap. They didn’t even have port of call charges in Dubrovnik because they didn’t even dock there. Furthermore, the $100 credit had strings attached which resulted in us not even getting a fair shake on that. We felt we were nickeled and dimed the entire trip and every chance to screw us was well noticed by our two cabin travelers. Damn near a SHAKE DOWN! Bottom line, we are looking at another trip in the spring in Europe but will never use Norwegian again.. We have made 6 or 7 NCL cruises before. This being said, there were good times and good ports and good excursions but I booked the excursions privately, not Norwegian although because private is cheaper and not on big buses. Read Less

This was suppose to be a 5 star experience but it was anything but. They didn't go to two out of the 10 ports and only gave us $500 coupon for use another trip which we won't use. They had ending problems and didn't let us know that we were only running on 3 engines instead of 4. Missing two ports with useless compensation was not good. Won't be using Regent again. The shore excursions were below par. Disinterested guides and poor selection of places to visit and inform about. Excursions were too much riding in a bus and not enough walking and exploring, We think that Regent should have given us a cash refund for the 20% of the trip that we didn't get to experience. We have traveled on other cruise ships and had a much better experience. The entertainment was sub par with a cast that was just not up to entertaining on a 5 star ship. The food was good but not better than any of the other 7 cruises we have been on. Will not travel with Regent again. Read Less

We had been on the Marella Discovery before and even cruises on the sister ship Marella Discovery 2 last year. We decided to go on another cruise with my Parents and my Brother and Siater-in-law for my Parents 50th golden wedding anniversary. It started out ok with the only gripe was we were not able to book the Surf and Turf speciality restaurant on the day we embarked (11/10/2019), as we missed out with the speciality restaurant we went to the 47 gallery restaurant and the waiter staff were absolutely fantastic which was a consistent feeling when we dined. But this seems to be the only positive thing about the ship. Throughout the whole week the ship smelt of Fuel and a number of the Toilets were continuously blocked and smelly. The Balcony room was looking tired and used needs another refurb. The cabin staff were friendly but missed things when cleaning. The shows were very mediocre compared to previous Marella Cruises. I’m not sure I could guarantee I will cruise by Marella again. Read Less

I will not cruise with this line or ship again the staff were rude as was the service in general, the food was not good and the entertainment was even worse, there were only three staff members that were worthy of note, a girl named Anne Carolina Silvera our table waiter called Muliaty and the cabin person (cannot remember his name), they were helpful and did their job amicably and all received a well earned tip. The thermal spa package that we purchased prior to embarking, because it was cheaper, did not live up to expectations and was falsely advertised. The internet service we paid for did not work properly throughout the ship it continually came up with "No Service". Don't start me on the drink package which we purchased it was a rip off, example if the drink you ordered was more than 6 euro you wouldn't just get charged the difference but would be charged the total amount even when the difference was .50cents more. We never went past customer service without there being a long queue and mostly everyone was complaining about something. This was an end to a month long journey around Italy and we ended the trip with the cruise to rest up before coming home to Australia, luckily for us. I could go on and on but you get the idea. The food was excellent in latitude 47 and also waiters were excellent too couldn’t do enough to please us shows were 1st classs enjoyed them very much.My husband and I felt let down and was devastated by the constant smell of Fumes all over the ship. Once home my husband visited his GP and was prescribed Steroids for his breathing. Read Less

Sadly where do I start . We had booked a deluxe cabin and to our shock we saw no deluxe at all, the windows were that bad we could hardly see out of them. The shower was that small with a shower curtain, not deluxe to me. No toiletries apart from a small soap and shower cream canister. we enjoy going to the restaurant , only the first night was the best after that we were rushed every night and the food was not always hot and the plates cold. The staff were rushing around and the tables way to close to one another and the staff were not always attentive. In the end we tried the buffet lounge which I have to say the food was much better and the plates piping hot. Entertainment was awful it was a comedian and then entertainment team no professional dancers. Service in bars were very relaxed , there seemed to be a lack of staff. Found out later that this was coming to end of season and some were going home. We had diesel fumes which circulated around the ship even in our room on deck 8. Later the captain explained there were complaints about diesel fumes , explanation from the captain something about doing something to the tanks to put in an eu directive on fuel. Seems rather strange to do this while there were passengers on board. I had to cancel a trip due to the fumes making me ill because I ahave asthma . This cruise was a very disappointment overall. If it was coming to end of season that should not have made any difference we still payed for our holiday which our ruby anniversary was spoiled all together. Would I go back on this ship no, it was more like a Butlins camp . I would love to hear from other people affected by the fumes. Read Less

I chose this cruise because of the new ship the Edge. I’m an elite plus member and I’ve been on many ships starting with the Century I believe Celebrity has cause a major faux pas introducing this series of ships. This ship is for those guests who have it $$$$$$ and those who don’t For instance I chose the infinity room It is a lovely room with an oversized picture window. It can be opened half way with a movable button. However it is not a balcony. If you want a balcony you need to upgrade to a suite. This infinity room cannot be enjoyed by you if your significant other is sleeping. There is no way to order even a pot of coffee without disturbing your mate. Second of all the suite guests can enjoy the top of the ship. The rest of us are not allowed on that floor. The Club established for the elite and above is a darkened room with no windows. Tried it once and at least I’m able to go to other bars for remainder of cruise. On a positive note I will not be spending much time on this ship as we have many ports of call. I’ll be spending future cruises on the Solstice class. At least I’ll be able to enjoy sky lounge and roof top without being turned away because of this caste system. Good luck Celebrity with filling up these ships after the curiosity wears off Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary but were ultimately disappointed with the destinations as the experience was spoiled by ridiculous numbers of tourists, despite it being towards the end of the season. The cabins were fine although the curtains were in dire need of replacing. In general the ship looked tired. The ship was generally very clean and our cabin was spotless thanks to our excellent steward. The food quality varied enormously, as did the service, even though we ate in the same dining room each evening. Occasionally, the food was very good but mostly it was mediocre and occasionally inedible. We did complain about the food on a couple of occasions. There were two formal evenings on the cruise and the information supplied by Royal Caribbean clearly stated that lounge suits or dinner jackets were required in the dining rooms, furthermore any passengers not appropriately dressed would not be able to there and would have to eat in the buffet. Unfortunately, on both formal nights there were numerous people inappropriately dressed in jeans, trainers and t-shirts. We did not take any organised shore excursions as the costs were extortionate. The entertainment was poor. Read Less

This was my 50th birthday treat. Unfortunately the embarkation was terrible. We were made to wait 2.5 hours in the terminal (felt like cattle shed) before boarding (no organisation just all gathered like being at a concert) Compared to other cruise liners this was disgraceful. Staff on board were not that friendly to start with and I think they had so many complaints they had to make an effort, especially to the ‘English Speaking ‘ guests. The food was okay but not a great selection that you get on other cruise liners but the boat was clean. Plus you had to pay extra for tenders and surcharges that we were not aware of. MSC did listen to our complaints and issued chocolate covered strawberries with an apology but there are only so many strawberries you can eat! I hope they do listen and take on board where they can improve on their service. Read Less

Cannot gte anyone in customer services to even respond now. Have your money, see you later. Ship is clearly old, cramped cabins, shower horrendous. Entertainment and waiter staff only good thing. Told me had to adhere to smart casual dress at dinners, was not enforced as people in shorts. Told to queue and then allow people to just push and shove. Was like boarding an easyjet flight before allocated seating. Just poor and fact nobody cares even worse. I was supposed to have 2 cabins 1 with twin room - that never happened. Had an express massage on deck - guy had no idea. Bathrooms on dismebarkation day were so foul my wife threw up when she walked in. All these complaints have been ignored by MSC customer services. The ship is nice and new. I do like the new ship design but I do not think that it is worth the extra dollars to take the Edge. The staff is nice. Our ports were rerouted due to weather. The rerouting of the ports caused chaos for the shore excursions staff. We had 3 Discovery Collection/Exclusive shore excursions, but were only able to take the one in Athens (which was very nice). The others were cancelled due to port rerrouting. For us the excursions are the highlight of the cruise. This is our 10th cruise overall and our 4th on Celebrity. The Santorini excursions were a hot chocolate mess in a flaming dumpster. Due to us being one of the last cruise ships in port many excursions were cancelled and others were very very negative experiences. I recommended the firing of our tour guide and the bus driver. Celebrity tried to make it up to us so I give them 2 stars instead of one. Celebrity also tried to save the excursions for its suite guests in Santorini. In Santorini shore excursions issued free cable car tickets to the many people who had their excursions cancelled. As a result the cable car lines were two hours long and as a result people were walking through the donkey poop. The shows were average in talent level and content, although the layout of the theater was better than the other Celebrity ships. We spent several hours on the magic carpet for a glass of wine. It is very windy out there while the ship is moving. It is convenient for tenders. The Fine Cut and Eden restaurants were very good. The Fine Cut restaurant was difficult to book on sea days. Eden had a menu that was good for our unique dietary requirements. La Petit had a nice projection show, but I preferred the menu choices of previous ships of steak or lobster. The menu choices in La Petit were not as good. The spa was also very nice but crowded on sea days. The embarkation process is very smooth. In fact embark/debark were the smoothest that I have seen to date. The silent disco was very good. I wish that the other cruise lines would adopt the concept. The photographers were very average. On some other lines the photographers take longer to get the perfect picture. Celebrity cruises used to be my favorite line, however the shore excursion debacle on this cruise has knocked their ratings down a notch or two in my eyes. Read Less

I have chosen the cruise by mistake. If you are interested in the short Mediterranean cruise from Venice select the Norwegian. MSC cruise was very badly scheduled - we had almost no time in Myconas, few hours in Santorini and a lot of time in the least interesting place, Ancona. The service was really bad, I had to ask for several simple thinks, like the safe repair, for days. All simple snacks and mineral water on board are very expensive, not free, like they are on other cruises. I have no complaints about the embarkation/disembarkation. Food, cabin and entertainment were good. If you want to see not the Croatia,s national parks, but the port cities, I would recommend to book the excursions on shore, because the ones from MSC are too expensive. You can easily explore Dubrovnik and Split on your own. The ship is clean, but dull without any beatification. I don’t recommend this cruise. Read Less

Before the cruise on Mein Schiff 6 we sailed Celebrity (2x), NCL and Royal Caribbean. As we are German, we decided that it's time to try a German cruise line. The Mein Schiff 6 is one of the newest ships in the fleet and was in a great shape. The public spaces were designed well and very spacious, it was never a problem to find a spot in the bars and restaurants. The food was average at best and even the food at the speciality dining venues was nothing to wow about. The dinnerware was scruffy, the service staff didn't seem to like their jobs. The reason for that might have been that they were treated poorly by their supervisors. Not only once did we see supervisors shouting at crew members. Almost all drinks at the bars are included, but the selection left much to be desired and cocktails were poorly prepared. No frozen daiquiris were available throughout the ship, not even at the pool bar. There is no music at the pool at all, we really missed the great atmosphere on sea days we experienced on American ships. For the price of a celebrity cruise we got an extremely poor experience which was far below the experience we had with Royal Caribbean. We would not recommend a Royal Caribbean cruise to anyone who is used to American cruise lines. Read Less

Me and my friends decided to take a Mediterranean cruise, we’ve taken a few Caribbean’s ones, and this cruise was terrible only good thing was the itinerary. I was in a different room and right when I walked in it smelled like fumes, went to my friends room. The floor was filthy, so we went straight to guest services, they did not care at all, throughout the duration we complained multiple times and different people came to our rooms but still both was done. Msc’s Guest service does not care about customer service. They were extremely rude. I had to pay a bit extra for their “Fantastica” option. There was barley any food options. I paid to much money for it to just be a ripoff in the end. Don’t ever take this cruise line. There is no entertainment on board whatsoever, and entertainment on a cruise ship is very important. That was for a disappointment. The gym was very weak, four treadmills, four bikes and four ellipticals, yea because on a big cruise that makes real sense. There was even a wait limit how ridiculous, Food sucks, most of the workers are rude and don’t know a thing. One worker who was on the clock(mind you) in the buffet was very racist to me and my friends for no reason, never experienced so much hatred and rudeness from a cruise in my life. Such a waste of money and such a disappointment. Thank goddess for the ports of call only good thing about the week. I will never cruise with this line ever again. Read Less

The cruise experience is terrible on this ship with fun prohibited at every turn - one small pool for 3000 guests to fight over - pool marshals warn kids not to splash, just sit and be quiet NO FUN - on the disco the DJ asked that no drinks be brought onto the dance floor NO FUN - casual events such as bingo and trivia are hard to come by, no prizes / swag to be won NO FUN restaurant staff are pleasant but seem rushed and service is slow theatre productions are hit or miss The ship uses powerful facial recognition on board which makes you feel like you are being spied on during your vacation. For example, I had an issue with my beverage package and the manager said he would get back to me. Later that evening as soon as I sat down for dinner he showed up to chat about my issue. Other crew I spoke with about various issues happen to run into me around the ship but it was too coincidental. Worst of all, I never asked for facial recognition to be used on me. This is why facebook is in hot water - because of the invasion of privacy and not notifying customers of the extent of the data collection and usage. The same with Celebrity. Only this time, it is not a free social media service but an overly expensive cruise operation. The cruise is not worth the money and I would not take my family on it again. Read Less

We were guided by our Cruise company to book this one as it fitted the dates and they said it was a good itinerary and lovely ship. The departure city, Venice is breath taking and it is worth spending time having a look around or booking an extra night before or after, but be careful where you stay as lugging suitcases around Venice over bridges is not easy. The Ship, looked nice until you got closer, there was lots and lost of maintenance going on, frayed and lifting carpets on stairs and busy places, broken chairs, beds etc, dirty windows you could not see out of. The cabin was spacious enough (balcony), we spent a considerable time in here as the ship was full to bursting so space was not something you had in comparision to other cruise lines. Food, there was plenty if you had no allergies, my husband enjoyed the savoury the sweet all looked different but tasted the same something sweet! Ports; there were some we were so excited about, but sadly one we failed to arrive due to the weather, however we were informed by staff this happens regularly for Mykonos, so be warned re MSC cruise lines and this port. Athens was lovely and well worth a visit but it is so so hot, need to go out first thing and be under shade in the cool by midday. Activities; they were all done on the deck in the hot sun, so for those whom needed a little shade they could not take part. The shows were good and had different kinds each night, some were really clever especially having the entertainers who were more acrobatic so it made it more visual. Staff, we had a couple of nice ones, however there were some very rude and unkind and unhelpful which impacted a lot on the cruise. Reports of issues took forever (a whole week) to finally get resolved which is far too long. They are not Deaf Friendly or accessible with no transcripts for a Deaf customer, no subtitles on the TV even though they have the subtitles on the remotes and up to date smart televisions. It does seem unfair that a Deaf customer pays the same as everyone else but they do not think about basics that could make it accessible. Having said that they did have areas for disabled people, but again passengers did not care and used them, even when disabled people came along and wanted to access the area the other passengers refused to move who were NOT disabled, staff asked and senior staff, but they point blank refused, disgusting that the staff cannot force them to move as disabled people have enough to deal with, but to not have seating or places that are set out for a person with a disability is plain wrong. This was the same for the lifts, you had to force yourself in to get on a lift if in a wheelchair or with a mobility aid. The one thing we need to warn you about; EVERYTHING costs more, even a class of tap water from a bar is 75 cents!!!! Extra service charges at every turning, we sadly had a deal where gratuities were included, we so wished they had not been part of the package as the cruise line did NOT DESERVE it! We spent a lot of money on the cruise itself and then far far too much (even with watching what we spent on the cruise) on the cruise, it meant it was not 'a good deal' and the ship was not to the standard of P&O, Holland America or Princess cruises; the staff need a transplant in customer services and being sincere and polite. The passengers on the ship, well a high proportion were rude, pushing in, shouting and screaming, smoking in areas that were clearly labelled non smoking, it resulted in us preferring to be in our cabin, luckily we had a balcony, to be comfortable and not having to endure the horrid people and their rudeness and arrogance. Be warned MSC are out to bleed you dry of every penny you have, have a good level of spending money if you dare to try MSC. Be prepared to shout and scream to get things sorted and to be rude and abrupt too! Not a pleasant cruise in fact we feel we have wasted a years savings and have returned with bills and charges, annoyed and upset. We will NEVER use MSC again. Read Less

We choose this cruise due to travel dates and destinations. However if I’d known the minimal standard of this ship I would of seemed alternative options. On embarking it was chaos it clearly states on boarding papers that it commences at 11.30am. However didn’t get on board till 2.30pm. No crew took charge provided any updates. On board it clearly states where smoking is allowed and smoking in cabins or on cabin balconies is not permitted. Leaving Venice everyone was smoking flicking ash etc. contacted reception who advised us to contact them with cabins who were doing it so they could address it. We asked several guests not to flick there ash it was blowing on us but people were rude and aggressive in their response. We contacted reception who said security would speak to guests. However when security turned up they said it was an issue for housekeeping. Our issue with the smoking was that people were flicking aah and not been respectful of others. Mindue has to have a giggle when the ship sells cheap cigarettes onboard. the pool area was overcrowded with on average 40+ adults and minimum 10 children in each of the pools at one time. There is no adult only areas at all. The bars etc has no limitations either. One night we went down for disco at midnight and guests were turning up there with prams with young babies. The music was so loud and young children were grisly. Certainly not a place to take your young children. Excursions. We were meant to go to Mykonos but due to Weather we were diverted twice and arrived at Chania. However customer service could provide no information on the town and there response was they hadn’t been there before. No initiative to seek information for guests. We were then advised that they would discount the bus shuttle for £5. Upon arrival at port it was chaos no crew were there giving directions and the lines trying to get out gates were insane. Finally after people had been in line in the hot sun for over 30minutes the crew went out to assist. It was frustrating as people with young families had stood in line for a long time waiting for shuttles and when you got to gate you could get local bus following the same route for £3.40 and taxi one way was £10. To give them credit we enjoyed the excursions to Olympia, acropolis. However each one costs average of £60 Disembarking: Each person was allocated tags/colours along with times. Initially they were announcing groups then this ceased along with the updates on the screen s. It wasn’t until we approached crew that they advised we could disembark. Upon leaving ship there was one free shuttle to transport all passengers to the main terminal. Again no communication from crew. Terribly unorganised ship Read Less

Royal Caribbean should be ashamed to have such an old ship cruising on the seas. I expect more from them than this old and very rub down cruise ship. I was about to book another cruise on this ship for next year but no way after seeing the torn up and dirty ship. We have been on many cruises on RC but I can no longer recommend them to anyone I know. Take the ship off the seas. The food was good but the tears in the carpet is a turn off. The carpet is also dirty. Come on RC. Forget the entertainment is a lot to be desired, or maybe I should say the lack of. Not much to do on this ship. Can you say boring. Need more room for venues and less rooms if you want to try to be competitive. The cabin attendant was good but the cabin was old and dingy. Very disappointed. Read Less

Horrible dining room management and mediocre customer service basically ruined our cruise. I'll start with the Positives: Good price and value proposition Great itinerary with thoughtful destinations Good ship Good stateroom service Can have a great time without buying lots of extras Great food We did this as a big anniversary trip, but also needed to do it on a budget. Knowing we would be exploring most days and just crashing at nights, we got a basic interior cabin which had a good size and I never felt claustrophobic. The food itself was delicious and the buffet was above average. However - huge negative - the dining room service. First of all, their timing was horribly off, so that we had to wait over an hour on two different nights for tables. They simply couldn't time it properly with the shows. We went to customer service to complain and they told us that they would have the staff reach out to us. When we went back up, we were called. We were then told it was a mistake and we would have to wait more. When we asked for the maître d' he literally insulted me to my face and said he didn't care if we went to guest relations. Well, I went directly back there to let them know that I was just insulted to my face for no reason. (this was night one of the extended wait). On night two of the extended wait, we went back to guest relations and they were apologetic and got the restaurant manager above the maître d' and his solution was we were just supposed to call us for (for lack of a better term) a "fastpass" each night and he would *literally* sneak us in a back door to eat. Very unprofessional. We went multiple times to the guest relations to let them know how the dining room was one of the most important aspects for us of this cruise and we were very disappointed. Their solution was a future cruise credit with a very meager amount that expire in a year or so. We let them know that this really didn't due us any good because we only cruise ever 5 years or so. We told them we'd be happy with just one extra dinner in an upgraded restaurant. They "couldn't do that." So, at the end of the day had to negotiate (like buying a used car) to try to get a little more future cruise credit and get them to extend the expiration date for us so *maybe* we could use it. Overall, this cruise was a good value, and a nice ship, with good food. The itinerary was good. I can see why people may be brand loyal to Celebrity. However, that is not me, because I like brand that I know if there is a problem, then they will take care of me and make sure I am satisfied, especially, when the maître d' insults you. (They made him come apologize later, but it wasn't really sincere... he said he just "lost his temper" because he was "stressed" on a "busy night." NOT somebody you want in customer service.) I am really not sure if I will use the credit an cruise with them again. 6 months later I have a very bad taste in my mouth. It's hard to stomach that if you have a problem in a foreign country or middle of the ocean, the guest relations staff is really not capable of helping you solve a problem. Read Less

Disappointed with MSC and state of cabin. Asked steward to bleach shower floor as covered in mould but he said it was a problem with the grout. Looked and smelled like mould and needed a good scrub. They also definitely need more staff to serve in bars and to clear tables. Tables are always left with plates and food and you have to call the staff over to clean your table. Was told in one bar that I needed to buy drinks to get food. Aren't they supposed to feed us whilst onboard? Drink prices are way too high. My gold card got me no benefits when disembarking and had to wait for all the lower cabins to disembark first. Was told if I booked Aurea class I would have been given priority. So the number of cruises you have done does not matter. Would prefer other cruise lines next time. Read Less

You'd rather go to take it yourselve if you want to have something to drink while eating... However dinners were better. - Staff (unless few people) was quite impolite. However it is quite understandable having seen their shifts of work... 7 days a week, morning, evening and night... - Time for excursion is not enough - Pools were very small for the amount of people "staying" at the boat and it was quite difficult to take a free hammock In general, the experience was quite disappointing, they sell a "Magnificent" cruise but it is far away from that.
