We signed up for this cruise in 2020. We hoped by end of Oct. 2022 things with Covid would have settled down. Since this was to be our 6th Regent cruise, 2nd on Explorer, we believed the tours would be very good and safe. We believed we needed to be careful in many parts or the world now. Especially since we are in our seventies and walk a bit slower. We believed Regen would take good care of us ...
We chose this cruise because it was a smaller ship ( 680 guests) and because it was Oceania - a higher end line. We have sailed on Carnival (1x) Holland America (1x) Royal Caribbean (2x) Celebrity (2x) previously. We booked 2 years prior to sailing and we were looking forward to it as we hadn’t travelled due to COVID. The ship was small and because of that, (we had a balcony cabin )the ...
We have about a dozen cruises under our belts split roughly evenly between Seabourn, Silversea and Crystal. Our last cruise was Quest in 2019. Obviously things have changed a bit in the past 3 years and to be clear do recognise that all hospitality venues have had serious challenges whether land or sea based. I did a live blog which can amplify issues so am trying here to take a step back. It is ...
Really was looking forward to this cruise beautiful ship, exceptionally clean, enyoyed swimming pool and solarium. Theatre stunning not all shows good as was geared to American passengers as was trivia games which a lot of passengers had trouble with as online but set for Apple phones not android. Lovely cabin comfortable bed nice hot shower and plenty space, staff very helpful but ship lacked ...
I was a solo traveler, part of a larger group. I have sailed with Celebrity many times in the past, but this was the first and last time I will be on an Edge Class ship. I found the ship to be gaudy rather than elegant in comparison to their older ships. The attempt to make them "contemporary" for me missed the mark completely, and some venues on the ship are truly grotesque. Eden is like some ...
I selected this cruise because the locations it sailed to. The time of year was fine - 1 day of rain, unfortunately when we went to Positano and Sorrento. Due to the rain, we only had 30 minutes in Positano so hard to site-see, shop, etc. My least favorite stop was Santorini - very crowded and on that day there were 'only' 4 cruise ships; Akrotiri was interesting and our guide very knowledgable. ...
A third cruise with Marella, but probably our last. We enjoyed all of the ports of call, Split, Trieste, Ancona, San Marino and Zadar. Usual procedure to board the ship, probably slightly longer due to covid and brexit but once on board were greeted by friendly ,helpful crew. Cabin, outside on deck 9 was beautifully clean and the crew who serviced it twice a day were friendly, cheerful and a ...
We did consecutive cruises for a total of nineteen nights on Jewel. Terrific Itinerary with nine different islands in the Med included. As others have stated, Jewel of the Seas is tired, mostly showing in our balcony stateroom. Chipped paint in the bathroom. Rust on the balcony. Drawers and cabinets literally falling apart. The mattress was hard, the pillows awful, and the sheets were ...
Had been on Viking river cruises and loved them. This was our first Ocean with Viking. Good stuff first:
Dubrovnik Croatia was a pleasant surprise. Barcelona was amazing, guide was excellent. Go a few days early - so much to see! Boat was spotless and perfectly maintained, housekeeping excellent. Had a number of restaurant/bar options. Service overall was good, although not nearly as ...
We appreciate you taking the time to detail your recent voyage, Coz3704, as such feedback allows us to better understand how to deliver the five-star experience for which we strive. While...
Positives:
The balcony stateroom we had on deck 10 was comfortable, lots of clothes hanging space and hangers.
Asked for dressing gowns and they were provided for us without hesitation.
Excellent quality food at all meal times - in Tides restaurant and Windjammer - with so much variety.
Could bring 2 x bottles of wine onboard on embarkation day (but note not at any port stops during ...
