Last cruise pre-pandemic was on the Regal (for us) in December 2019 and first Princess cruise since the pandemic was also on the Regal. Sailed from Rome to Athens (May 28 - June 4) and from Athens to Barcelona (June 4 - 11). First back to back cruise for us. Used Princess' suggested hotels and transfers at both Rome and Barcelona ports. Arrived at port in Rome, had to take a covid test since I ...
21 day Cruise (3 back to backs) Booked flights through EZ Air Flew directly from San Francisco - Barcelona on LEVEL Airlines. After multiple last moment airline changes Princess put us on Level and Princess rep had never heard of LEVEL airline was and sadly is not a good airline, filthy toilets, lazy sullen crew who did not care. There is no food, no water, no cushion, no headphone or blanket ...
Destinations were excellent. Crew very nice. Food ok but not spectacular. Technical staff not qualified to change a cabin light bulb in my opinion. Waited 45 minutes at 11 pm to have someone open our cabin door. Only one person on the ship had a mechanical key. Next day, they decided to change the battery. That lasted 24 hours. Tried again next day as door would not open again. Supervisor ...
This is a beautiful yacht with wonderful service while on board. The food was five star with wonderful variety and healthy options. The room and balcony were breath taking. All the stops in Croatia were beautiful. The staff was attentive to all your needs while on board. They need to fine tune their ability to keep passengers informed and communicate to all the staff any changes to daily ...
We tried to book a cruise around 6 weeks out and managed to reserve guaranteed suite but flights were not available to book. This was supposedly linked to the move of embarkation from Venice to Ravenna. (didn’t Venice ban cruise ships from 1st August 2021? Why was this a surprise 9 months later?) After another week and calls to Seabourn and TA we were advised that flights could now be booked but ...
Review of Princes Regal cruise, May 28 - June 4, Rome to Athens
This is my feedback regarding our cruise on the Princess Regal from Rome to Athens, May 28 through June 4, 2022.
Stateroom:
The stateroom was very clean and functional. LOTS of storage space under the bed. The closet was VERY spacious, with LOTS of hangers. All storage for clothes was exceptional.
Bathroom:

Chose this cruise as had previously been on west Mediterranean trip and had enjoyed most things about the ship. Many aspects of this east Mediterranean cruise were quite disgraceful. Bed linen, towels, pillows were so over used, I couldn’t tell whether they were clean or not. Plastic glasses at pool bars had been in dishwasher a thousand times so were scratched and stained and sometimes there were ...
We chose this cruise as we wanted to see the islands of Greece and Turkey. The staff on this ship were so friendly and helpful, especially the hospitality we received from 'Samiro' who worked the pool deck during the day and then the Squid and Anchor bar in the evening, such a gentleman and was very attentive to us.. The food on the ship was lovely and there was always something to cater for ...
This was a two week cruise so my comments are the same as the previous week but I did wish to comment on the port visits, which in some cases were not as positive as the previous week. As I need to write more I would say that the ship was far more crowded this week, which wasn’t great. It was nice not to have wear masks this week, whether this was because the Covid cases on board had lessened or ...
Multiple countries visited with great included and optional tours. The included tours and optional tours all had knowledgeable tour guides and with the Quiet Vox you are able to hear all important information. The history, art and architecture of the Renaissance city of Florence, the Vatican and Roman sites along with the Sistine Chapel were incredible. The visit to Pompeii with a very ...
