We are just off the Divina. We chose this cruise because of the price and great itinerary.
food: good to not good. The buffet is overcrowded and finding a place to sit us not easy for breakfast/lunch. Although food is plentiful, we found both breakfast and lunch very repetitive. MDR for dinner was hit and miss. My husband is gluten/dairy intolerant. While they tried to accommodate him, they ...
Had a wonderful time on my first MSC, the Seaside so booked the Divina. Was very disappointed in several things on the ship.... yet I did meet many very nice staff..... but.... never received any of the scheduled/promised events, including the Cruse Critic meet and greet... the "Black Card" party nor the "Voyager". There were NO upgraded amenities... not even a "bar" of soap. My cabin ...
Well, it was our first cruise to this part of the Caribbean and we picked as to the number of different islands during the cruise. We‘ve been on a number of other cruises before, several of those with Celebrity which is so far our favorite cruise line.
Although we enjoyed the cruise, I have to say it does not fully met our expectations.
The itinerary was interesting, the islands are ...
Great price - good value for the number of days.
Every crewmember seemed to want to give the best service. Our room steward was excellent. He couldn't do enough to please us, and was very personable.
There were too many ports. We would have liked to have had more sea days.
We were disappointed that there were no guest speakers and theme.
As for the food, we found that it ...
This is the first time on a Viking Ocean cruise and will probably be the last. Have been on two previous Viking River cruises in Europe. Our cabin was 6042 (deluxe veranda). We have been on more than 24 ocean cruises and have experience with numerous cruise lines. Our favorite cruise line still remains Oceania even after trying Viking Ocean.
The cruise embarkation (Jan 28, 2019) was late ...
The ship is not handicap friendly!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO walk in showers --have to CLIMB in a VERY TALL TUB.Ramps that are very difficult to move on a walker without - assistance. Service in the dining rooms were VERY SLOW most usaually the food was warm at best when served . When you want something HOT to eat you needed to go to the HOT ROCKS at night or during the day the buffet on deck 7 or snack ...
We are experienced cruisers with 25 to 30 cruises on many different brands. Celebrity has always been a favorite as we have watched many former preferred brands such as Princess and Holland America slide downhill into medicocrity.
We booked on the Edge with a group of neighbors and friends largely to experience the new ship together.
Summary of likes:
--Best main dining room food EVER! ...
The trip from the islands to visit was all interesting, but we were disappointed by the restaurants. The only restaurant interressant on this boat was Le Bistro and the Cagney steak house, it seems that the employees are poorly trained one evening at the restaurant they brought me the wrong order I warned the server he told me not to understand. In the evening impossible to sleep during the shows ...
This was sixth cruise on Norwegian and until this one, had never considered any other cruise line. Always enjoy the freestyle dining, beverage package, entertainment, ports and considered it to be a good value. This one got off to a bad start which soured the first couple of days. Here's what went wrong:
1. Pre-paid shuttle service from airport to ship was terrible and cost more than twice ...
The itinerary was excellent. Embarkation was very smooth as was the disembarkation. The cabin was clean but used glasses and coffee cups were not always replaced with clean ones. Washroom and shower functioned well. Pool towels were always available.
Entertainment was varied and generally of a good quality.
Spa services were excellent.
The eating areas were all extremely loud ...
