After cruising with Princess three times, we decided to try Celebrity. The Equinox is a smaller and older ship compared to the Royal & Regal Princess. Overall the ship was in good shape. It is apparent that they are letting some routine maintenance items go since the ship is going into dry dock later this spring.
Our biggest issue with the ship was the pool area. The outdoor pool area is small ...
I haven't cruised in 10 years and oh how it's changed!! I would say we had some definite high points and some lows as well.
We were sailing Sky level in a crown loft suite. This allowed us access to a private sun deck which was awesome! Some days we were the only people up there! There was a hot tub and a bar up there and it was at the front of the ship which was also very nice.
We also had ...
Chose the cruise for the itinerary and as an opportunity to begin an adventure in Argentina by cruising to Buenos Aires. Ports were new to us, which was nice. However, disembarkation into some of the ports was disorganized and stressful, taking well over 1 1/2 hours on one occasion. We were recurrently leaving port late, including the night before our disembarkation port, resulting in our arrival ...
We chose this cruise for two reasons - to get out of the cold for 13 days and we did not have to fly to get to the port. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze; no issues whatsoever. We are frequent cruisers and this was about our tenth cruise on Royal and the oldest ship we have ever been on. The Grandeur's age was not a factor. She was clean and surprisingly in better shape than ...
This is a review of the Oosterdam's 2/2/19 Tropical Caribbean cruise. We chose this cruise for the itinerary, four ports in the Caribbean that we had not previously visited, as well as the competitive cost that allowed us to step up to a Signature Suite, when we typically purchase a balcony stateroom. We, a 50ish married couple, are experienced cruisers who have sailed on Celebrity, NCL, ...
We sailed on the NCL Bliss on Feb 2, 2019, Mini Suite Cabin #15770. Both the wife and I are experienced cruisers, this was my 17th cruise. Embarkation was the best I have ever experienced, very quick, 15 min from arrival at the pier at 11:15 until we were on board. Cabins were ready about 1:30. Our cabin was nice, but not as large as other Mini Suites on NCL or on Princess. A strong word of ...
This was our 48th cruise overall, 8th HAL cruise and 5th in a Neptune Suite. It was casino rate promotion and at the time of booking we were informed it had to be a Guarantee and we couldn't select our Neptune Suite as we have been able to do previously with the casino rate bookings. I balked because I have some mobility issues and never book Guarantee cabins. The agent said she would send a ...
After a few days, the design flaws really showed up. With only one show lounge, activities like any form of dance instruction we relegated to the central piazza. Participating in these venues meant being on full public display and the lack of a stage and screens for the instructors made the process unenjoyable. The Princess Live venue is just a lecture theatre with terrible short squab seating. As ...
We decided to get some winter sunshine. The islands were interesting some of which we had visited before. We always went on independent shore excursions and shared taxis with passengers from other ships and had interesting conversations with several Americans and a lovely young German couple. We never use the ship's excursions as they are expensive and not good value. We found Britannia too big ...
Coming from CT and not wanting to fly, we chose Grandeur and Baltimore. We have little interest in RCI’s monsters from Bayonne, and NCL’s product is simply unacceptable on many levels. It is too bad HAL and Celebrity abandoned the huge NY market,
Amtrak to Baltimore beats a winter flight, and Grandeur’s reasonable size was enticing. While food quality and service level show the same ...
