Entertainment and food

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sun

To go to Cuba. Two of the things that are disappointing on Norwegian cruise ships are the quality of their entertainment and food. I have cruised on Norwegian at least 10 times and noticed each year the down turn in their entertainment and food. They have their own group of entertainers that they use almost entirely. So if you don’t mind watching the same individuals several nights, then it ...

First Cruise - Still deciding if I'd do it again

Overall we enjoyed the cruise. Havana is wonderful and just wished we'd had more time there. That port made the whole cruise worth it. The first port, Great Stirrup Caye, is a waste of time in my view. Would rather have another day in Havana. Nothing on Great Strirup Caye except the beach and a couple of bars. It's a cruise line owned island so they are just making money from anything ...

Verry poor food

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Opera

This was the worst food we have ever experienced on a cruiseship. We always said “I have never had bad food on a cruise, but now It’s there. This was clearly the most cheap garbage ever served on a ship. Not just once, but every day. Lunch or dinner, buffet or restaurant. The food budget is obvious shrunk below the limit. This is unacceptable. What are the chefs doing? Taste your own food! ...

This was my first time cruising with Carnival. My sister, who is a Carnival cruise VIP member, and myself booked a Cuba and Cozumel cruise. I want to give kudos to those areas that impressed me. I enjoyed Cuba and the Paradise booked excursion. I recommend the Local Flavors Excursion. The tour guide was excellent. I met a Guest Services Supervisor SANJA VUK who acted when we had issues with ...

Go for Cuba, not the boat

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sky

Cuba was great, get a tour not associated with the boat. We got our own guide, driver and car from 9am - Midnight for only a few more bucks ($350 total for 2). Specialty dining is the way to go on these small boats and the food there was as good as any other. Only 3 on this ship so we ate at one each night. Open bar--- kind of. If you have done the beverage package on other ships this is ...

Did not live up to Oceania hype and expectation

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Sirena

We are seasoned cruisers and chose this cruise for a convenient way to travel home from Rome after attending a wedding in Malta. Past Transatlantic experiences have been exemplary on Cunard. We cruised on the Marina last year and anticipated a similar positive experience on the Sirena. The ship is tired at best and in need of updates. Tiles surrounding the pool were missing and cracked. Oceania ...

Cuba - August 2018

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We have cruised with Norwegian on the Escape and the Pride of America so my expectations were high. The Sun is a bit smaller but nice size. We were able to get the layout fairly quickly. Stayed in cabin 9203 at the front of the boat. Spectacular views and the room was quite nice. One draw back staying in this room is we found we could not use the light on the deck when the boat was sailing. ...

I chose this cruise because of the destination, Cuba. My overall experience was ok, the ship was not crowded, which was very good. The shows were good, the staff were amazing and my room staff(Jerry) was just great. However, the food. The choices were slim to none. The buffet had the same food almost everyday, I have been on two other Norwegian cruises previously and the food was amazing and lots ...

What happened to carnival?

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Carnival Paradise

i havent been on a carnival cruise for a while. First off, i was only offered once a day cleaning, no nightly turn down with chocolate. The buffet doesnt have smoked salmon, the quality has gone down. The debarkation was the worse of all the cruises I took. I hate when i'm told to be at the express debarkation at 7:20am then every person getting off the elevator and stairs cuts in front of ...

Cuba is Amazing BUT HOT HOT HOT in August

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sky

We enjoyed our cruise to Cuba; however Norwegian shortened our time in Cuba by a half day without communication or the option to re-book. Since spending time in Cuba was our sole purpose for this cruise, I deducted 2 stars. I had a lot of questions about cruising to Cuba so I hope this information helps others. 1. It is hot and humid in August. I live in humid Missouri, but I was drenched in ...
