First Cuba cruise

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Celestyal Crystal

I chose this Cuba cruise because my husband wanted to go to Cuba and I wanted to go on a cruise. First time for both of us. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The ship is an older, smaller ship but very clean and well staffed. The pool and hot tub were tiny (only 1). But I didn't really go on this trip for swimming. The crew were amazing!! The waiters/bar staff were ...

We just came back from cruising around the island OF CUBA on the Celestial Crystal and had a blast. The ship may be older, but it is in great condition and spotless!!The staff on this ship is what made this cruise so exceptional. The waiters are so attentive, the cabin stewarts eager to please and the entertainment staff are full of energy with lots of activities. Danny, the head of the ...

The ONLY reason we chose this cruise was to visit Cuba. We liked the fact that the ship would spend 2 full days in port in Havana. We have taken over a dozen cruises but this was the first with NCL. Although the ship is somewhat older, we found it to be very clean and up to date. Although the ship was full, at no time did it seem crowded. There were always deck chairs and available if desired ...

Booked a last minute deal as a Solo traveler

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sky

I actually booked a last minute deal on this website, Cruise Critic after following a link from Facebook. The teaser rate was $279, add the taxes and port fees, bumps it to $440, but wait, you aren't done-- add another $75 for the Cuban visa and $19 a day for the mandatory service (gratuities) charges. Still, a 5 day cruise as a solo traveler for around $600-ish is a pretty great deal! This deal ...

An amazing experience in Cuba!

We chose this cruise because it sails to Cuba and we were not disappointed! The Cuban theme was echoed throughout the ship with live salsa music, specialty meals in the Main Dining Rooms, and mojitos everywhere! What a bonus to have a drink package included in the cruise price, even the food and drinks at Great Stirrup Cay were included! That's a tremendous value! The ship decor is a bit dated ...

I absolutely loved this trip. I probably had the best service I have had since taking my first cruise about 10 years ago. Don't know if it was because the cruise was short, 4 days, but the staff was friendly, helpful, and appeared to genuinely aim to please. So many times, I feel like a cruise may start that way, but then they just seem to get less and less attentive as the cruise goes on. I ...

NCL exceeded my expectations! Cuba, not so much.

I booked our cruise a few days before sail date and honestly did not expect much out of the Norwegian Sky ship itself or from the dining or service. I was wrong. NCL exceeded my expectations. The ship is actually very nice, especially for its age. It is a smaller ship, so we did feel quite a bit of movement and you could actually feel the engines moving it along, but this was not a negative ...

This was an absolutely wonderful cruise. We chose this cruise mainly because it was going to Havana and that it had an overnight itinerary there. After reading many reviews, I finally booked it for my husband's birthday and I am so glad that I did. Many reviewers said that the boat was old. This worried me, but I found the boat to be very nice and well kept. The staff is extremely ...

First Carnival cruise to Key West & Cuba after hurricane Irma

Always wanted to go to Cuba, booked 6 months prior to Irma. When I left for Florida by car, cruise was in jeopardy of being cancelled. Carnival called when I was almost to Florida, they said Cuba was a go but Key West was off. Three days later as I boarded the ship, Key west was put back on. A lot of trash type damage in Key West along with numerous boats sunk and blown on to shore. The people ...

After reading several critics before sailing last week I was expecting a ship that was below par on every detail including the rooms, food, and entertainment. However, I was very impressed from the moment we got on board. I had an inside room (#6109) and it more room than we needed, Plenty of closet space, safe, small couch, refrigerator, and nice size bathroom with extra hot water (lol), bar and ...
