Older ship

Review for a Cuba Cruise on Norwegian Sky

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary. The ship was definitely an older ship with none of the bells and whistles the newer ships have. The ship was clean and the staff were very friendly. We didn't try any of the speciality restaurants. We did eat in the dining room every night and the food there was good. I found that they didn't change up their menu a whole lot, specifically the ...

We booked this cruise to see Havana, which was great. Glad we did. We also used a private tour guide ,Blexie Tours. They were great. Very efficient, punctual, and professional. For $130 ,the two of us got a six hour private tour of Havana, that included all of the major sites and stops for rum and coffee. lunch was our option ,which was great. The ship tour was over $200 for a bus of 45 people, ...

We chose this cruise because it goes to Cuba. The ship was older but maintained well. We had a forward facing penthouse suite. Very nice for 4. The only big down side to this is that the ship is all alcohol inclusive. The bars are plenty but there is a huge lack of service. There is no rush what so ever. Plus, when you are at the shows or playing bingo/game shows, there is none or just barely bar ...

First impressions were good with the ship looking highly impressive moored alongside the quay at Havana and the staff being very smiley. Once on board, the ship was confirmed as being generally well maintained even if showing some signs of ageing with the odd area of wear and tear. So far, so good then. The cabin was relatively small compared with some other cruise lines and we noted that some ...

We had a nice tirp to Cuba the ship was OK this was our 20th cruise and first with Norwegean, the food was not as good as we expected, the staff were nice, I think we would have to give a lot of thought before we took another on Norwegian. We had an inside cabin the sofa was not comfortable and the tv was not visable while on the couch, our room attendent was friendly and attentive, she keep our ...

The Sky DOES Have a Limit

You know how most things are, "It's all about the journey, not the destination"? Well, in this particular case, it was ALL about the destination - Cuba - because the journey on the Norwegian Sky was pretty underwhelming. Absolutely nothing bad happened, but my apparently-high expectations were not even close to met on this boat. If you want to go to Havana, this is not a bad way to do it. If ...

This cruise was chosen for the itinerary's length of time in Cuba. Since this was a first for me I wanted to get as much in of the country as possible. Embarkation was smooth and went quickly. Our flight arrived in Miami at 10:25 and we were on board the Sky by 11:15 after taking a taxi for $30. I'm not sure if it was due to being a suite guest, or if it just went smoothly, as there were ...

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. If it hadn't been for cruising on this ship, the entire trip would have been the best of times. To save time, here is a list of the positive and negative items Positive 1. Cuba - wonderful people and culture. Our guides arranged vintage cars to take us wherever we wanted to go, including lunch at someone's home. We booked this ...

After along flight (not direct) we arrived in Havana. Luggage was taken direct to the ship, we were advised to take some clothes etc for the following day ( in hand luggage)just in case our luggage was delayed - due to rigorous checks by Cuban Authorities.Ours arrived after midnight. Our cabin was disappointing. It was tiny. We had booked a partial view - more like no view. We never had a ...
