My wife and I have always wanted to visit Cuba but for most of our lives it has not been possible for U.S. citizens. When it finally became possible, we jumped on it. We have been on many Viking cruises, both ocean and river. The reason we keep coming back is because Viking is the Rolls Royce of cruise lines. We love everything about Viking and will continue to cruise with them as long as our ...
Wanted to do Cuba again since my wife missed out on our last opportunity and this seemed like a reasonable option. Classy. We liked that there are no formal nights. No children is a definite plus. No charge for specialty restaurants. Spa is very nice. I was a bit disappointed in the itinerary. I do not know why we could not have overnighted in Havana instead of having to spend hours on the ...
1. We chose this cruise because it was going to 4 ports including Havana. Itinerary changes made it considerably less desirable: day in Key West and 3 night stay over in Cienfuegas. Cienfuegas is worth one day. I do not fault Viking for these changes, but it was not the trip we hoped for.
2. We were not docked in port but had a 15-minute tender to Cienfuegas.
3. For reasons unclear, most ...
For our first cruise, we wanted a smaller ship and were very interested in visiting multiple locations in Cuba. We were not disappointed! Excursions in Santiago de Cuba, Havana and Cienfuegos were excellent with knowledgeable & fun tour guides. Our week was a 'slow' one on board with only 110-210 passengers. Perfect for getting to know people and superb service everywhere. Chef Jesus in the Leda ...
We have traveled with Oceania on 6 prior occasions and have completely enjoyed all of them. The Cuban trip was fascinating and very enjoyable. It was really a blast back to the past in many ways. Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, and Santiago were all very different and and amazing places to have the opportunity to visit. The people are very friendly and great full to see American’s. Obviously we help ...
I wanted to see Cuba and it's turbulent past before the changes of time.
The dining experience was excellent.the service personnel always friendly and courteous
....we enjoyed the Chef's Table selection and the Italian choices. My mate liked especially
the Market Place Cafe where we had all breakfasts, some lunches and if he could have, dinner. I never surprised me to see the perfectly ...
We were interested in a cruise to Cuba at a time we could go at a reasonable price. It was our first Viking cruise and we booked it over a year ahead, paying the entire cost at booking. The docking at Havana was cancelled resulting in a change of itinerary. Viking compensated us with on-board credit and an overnight stay in Havana at no additional cost. It was a fair arrangement but if I had a ...
We chose this cruise because we thought it would be way more relaxing to go on a cruise for Thanksgiving than go to relatives; and we were delighted to find Azamara had a Thanksgiving cruise from Miami that week as we'd been on Azamara before and loved it. Unfortunately this cruise didn't come close to the last one--embarkation was the worst of any cruise we've ever been on. It took 90 minutes to ...
This is our second cruise on the Azamara Quest. Our first cruise was 1 1/2 years ago when she had recently come out of overhaul and the service, food and condition of the ship were exceptional. This cruise the service and food were again exception but you could see some minor wear issues in the shower and with the carpeting. These are minor issues and the crew works hard to keep the ship ...
Chose this to see Cuba - before it gets too crowded. It would have been better to cruise around Cuba and see more ports rather than the old tired ports of Key West and Cozumel.
The changes to Azamara that are planned will be the death of this formerly 4-star line. Many repeat guest will never come back, including me.
Why?
Production shows by some great entertainers are being cancelled, ...
