I chose this sailing because it was a new cruise line and I didn't pay full price for the sailing.
I had researched this ship and Princess throughly before booking and sailing. I knew what I was getting into because the ship is pretty old. The colors and furnishings are dated. With that said, everything was clean and the outside of the ship looked nice.
Princess is in the same class as ...
This was my first cruise on princess.
Took a mini suite which was nice but the boat gave me a room all the way in the front of the boat and on tender days it felt and sounded like the anchor was in my room.
I personally didn't like the daytime activities on the boat. Didn't seem like there was much to do.
Purchased the premier plus package which was good and worth the money if you like ...
Let me start with this: I love cruising. I've been on 15+ cruises, from the Odyssey of the Seas to the Nordic Prince that was retired ages ago, from RCCL to Princess to Celebrity to Norwegian to Holland America, and more. As cruises go, this was one I won't ever do again. This was supposed to be a "Fall Colors" cruise, but we missed the colors by a couple weeks, I think, as most trees were bare ...
I have postponed writing this review in hopes that Explora Journeys would learn from their mistakes and make significant changes to their operations. After reading onboard comments as well as the reviews here on Cruise Critic, I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Their whole mentality is, we are a different kind of cruise line. Indeed, they are.
All reviews are the personal opinion of the author. ...
Amazing journey from Quebec City to Miami aboard the beautiful Explora 1. First off , this is a beautiful vessel. Elegant, sophisticated with a great vibe. The ship exudes quality at every turn without being pretentious. We have travelled on most cruise lines including all the lux brands and I have to say this new ship and new brand is impressive. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. My ...
This is for a 9 day New England and Canadian cruise. We had an 11AM check in, but were quickly admitted on board 15 minutes ahead of time. Our balcony stateroom on the 8th deck was spacious and comfortable, but on the night of the 70s Promenade "Party" (just a motivation to buy drinks), we heard the bass noises from the 5th deck. Our room steward was very good, even though he forgot to fill up our ...
This was my second time on the Escape this year and I noticed many improvements and a few minor disappointments. We did the Caribbean cruise in February and although fun, the ship was packed with many, many pool chair hogs and loud drunks. The staff was friendly then but on this recent cruise, which was an older quieter crowd, the staff was downright gleeful. I heard singing, whistling and so many ...
Previous sailing on NCL traveled exclusively on NCL for decades . This was last terrible
Cut out cabin service and had no working toilet for hours. Reservations for speciality dining impossible to get. Lines to speak with anyone at desk long. Entertainment fair. The staff is wonderful but corporate has made so many cuts in past perks and buffet choices that it’s not the NCL I traveled for ...
The cruise, booked at the last minute, was a bargain, especially because the solo supplement was minimal. I was hoping that the solo experience would be okay, but that it really was not and the cruise line did almost nothing to make it a good experience.
For me, the highlights were embarkation, disembarkation, cabin size, the gym and extended pool hours. The low points were food, restaurant ...
I chose this cruise for the itinerary and dates of travel. Ports of call were all wonderful, we the exception of St John, NB. No excursion is required in any of the ports (except St John) if you’re willing to walk a bit, or navigate public transport. St John doesn’t have a much to offer after a quick wander and visit tot he old market. Might be worth an excursion to Hopewell Rocks…
