Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

My wife and I got a email advertising a great rate 1 week before she sailed so we jumped on it, employers were kind of pissed but hey that's what vacation days are for in our book. Took a bus to NYC, got to the terminal in plenty of time. The embarkation was a bit chaotic, unlike Celebrity and RCL. I attributed it to NYC and the craziness that is NYC. Felt like a mouse in a maze a few times ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Zaandam

We chose this cruise because of the ports of call. Due to the weather ( which was awful) we were not able to stop in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I did enjoy Quebec and our private tour with Tours By Locals, Claude was our guide and he was beyond excellent, I would recommend Clause to everyone going to Quebec . I also enjoy a private tour to the Bay of Fundy in Halifax by Bruce's Tours, I recommend him to ...

Great service with poor food quality

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

Chose this cruise for the itinerary and although the weather wasn't the greatest the ports were still wonderful and enjoyable. Ship is older but was clean and tidy except for very dirty outside windows. Since it is a smaller ship the crew is friendly and good at remembering you and making you feel pampered. Cabin 3124 is small, quiet and comfortable with adequate storage. Unfortunately ...

Relaxing with no issues but nothing remarkable

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We enjoy NCL's product and especially like the "Getaway" nature of the itinerary. We had not been on the Dawn and we were looking forward to the ship. We love this size ship and are especially fond of the Jade and Gem. The Dawn is older and of a different type than the Jewel Class. We found the ship in excellent condition, well maintained and spotless. We love the Bistro and Cagney's and were ...

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Gem

I liked the presentation of Picasso's biography The Norwegian Dawn had better entertainment. The comedian, I think his name was Jeff kept forgetting what he said and was drinking beer during his show. Not funny was several peoples' opinion. The food at the buffet was good. I was glad they had Indian food and Asian night was very good . I was disappointed in Italian night and Caribbean night ...

We have been cruising, for a very long time (( Almost exclusively, with Norwegian )) And had just experienced, a most horrific experience, aboard the Norwegian Dawn (( More on that, in another review )) …. Our almost total displeasure, would eventually surface however, with some personal correspondence, with Norwegian's CEO …. Suffice to say, that an overflowing toilet (( Which would NOT be ...

The Gem beats The Dawn

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Gem

The Gem is easier to get around than The Dawn, especially in the buffet area as there is a separate walkway for passing through so you are not walking into guests who are holding plates, etc. The food has gone downhill every year on the Norwegian line. This year, 2019, the beef was fatty, tough and tasteless. Even the pay restaurants were just average. However, Norwegian has the best ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Silver Wind

We chose this cruise only for the sailing under London Bridge which was definitely the highlight . We haven’t sailed on Silversea for a few years (as Crystal is our cruise line of choice) and remember luxuries like Perrier Juneau being the house champagne and the crew knowing your name within a couple of days aboard, the soap menu on arrival and your mini bar being stocked with your choice of ...

LUXURY CRUISER TRIES OUT A VISTA VERANDA CABIN on ZAANDAM

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Zaandam

OVERVIEW I usually cruise on luxury lines like Seabourn (SB), either solo or with DH, but a cruise I had booked got cancelled short notice. I was in cruise withdrawal and determined to use the time off I had arranged to cruise. Four years ago I had surprisingly enjoyed a HAL cruise to Alaska in a Neptune suite on a large group themed cruise, so thought I would try HAL again, this time as a solo ...

Partial days in ports disappointed

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Viking Jupiter

User Avatar

We chose the cruise primarily for the itinerary - ports in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium and Denmark. Before booking and paying for your cruise, Viking does not identify ports where you will have only a partial day to explore. A full day in Barcelona after embarkation was cancelled and we spent a day at Tarragona, a beautiful stop but not Barcelona. We only had partial days (6 hours) in ...
