The old lady was rusty and needed a revival

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Queen Mary 2 (QM2)

I liked the idea of going on a Cunard ship and I wanted to stay in the US instead of flights over and back to Europe. One of my travel companions had been on a Cunard and raved about it. I wanted the luxury, exceptional good service, a real ship and the timing and price were acceptable. From the moment I got to my cabin, I was disappointed in the the rust along the edge inside the porthole/ ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Oceania Vista

This was our first Oceania cruise. We were tempted by the new ship and the itinerary. We were certainly not disappointed by the ship nor the itinerary although the itinerary was somewhat spoilt by the weather which affected a couple of stops. The ship is quite beautiful - restful colours everywhere and some very 'interesting' art. Not always to our taste (the painting over our bathroom toilet was ...

Disappointing

We have sailed on many lines but this was our first on Oceania. When we saw this cruise, on their brand new ship, we knew it was time to give them a try. What we liked - beautiful ship, very clean, wonderful bed, good shower, roomy bathroom, comfortable veranda furniture (standard veranda cabin), fabulous cabin stewards (they were really awesome!) What we didn’t like - the food, spotty ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Insignia

I chose this cruise because I’ve wanted to do a leaf cruise and we were on Insignia last December 2022/January 2023 (Panama Canal) and it was excellent. We had every expectation that this cruise would be the same. Sadly it was not. Specifically the food in the Grand Dining Room was not good. The menus were terrible and the descriptions lacking or incorrect. I have never had to resort to the always ...

So much potential, but little of it was realized.

As we had to find an alternative to another canceled cruise - and had our heart set on this region - we decided to give NCL a chance. This was our 21st cruise, but our first with NCL - which we thought we could compare with MSC or Celebrity (and not with other luxury companies that we have also cruised with before). We knew a lot about the history of the ship and felt we had some idea of what we ...

WAY too crowded

The ship was nice and the food was very good. Our stateroom was well laid out with a starboard balcony. The workers were super friendly. We enjoyed five of the six ports. The shows that we were able to get into were excellent, but there were nights when we had nothing to do because we couldn't get reservations and the bars were packed. I'm really going to write about what we didn't like ...

Mangement and Customer Service Ruined this Cruise

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

Previously sailed other MSC ships with good to excellent experiences. Happy to find this ship sailing from NYC. Unfortunately, the cruise was plagued by what we experienced as poor management planning, execution and equally poor customer service on deck 5. What we liked - Room was always well cleaned and maintained. Entertainment by dancers and singers was the best. Main Dining Room service ...

First time cruising with MSC as we are Elite Members with Princess but thought a change was in order. Perhaps a bit spoiled so keep that in mind! Check in at the port, though harried and loud, was efficient enough and we were on board in short order. The ship is large and alternately decorated with classic colors and then nearly freakish colors which, in my opinion, were loud just for the ...

Few issues (easy wins) need sorting

Just off the cruise today and my overriding feeling is that this could have been a lot better experience with not a lot of effort from ncl. The issues being Embarking and disembarking at MCT. Thousands of cruisers coming off the ship mixing with loads of cruisers arriving and everyone squeezing through a narrow exit. Not only cruisers, there are unfortunately about 30 or so scam taxi drivers ...

Great crew

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Emerald Princess

We loved the crew. Everyone was very helpful and very pleasant. The ship was average but it does need some work. Very limited outlets in the rooms. Our bathroom stunk from floor drains that are never cleaned. These should be cleaned and sanitized regularly. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so we could sleep at night and it wasn’t odor from human waste. The sill on our sliding door to the ...
