Wanted to cruise the changing of the leaves in Canada and New England. The ship is wonderful the crew is also overboard at helping. Our butler Oscar and out maid Evelyn were just superb. The weather was not the best, but such is life. The only downside to the entire trip was the tenders. The tenders on two occasions caused tours to be cut short, both times the scheduled departure from the ship was ...
We sailed the New England/Canada cruise out of Brooklyn during the week of hurricane Michael. With the exception of Newport and Bar Harbor, we had horrible weather, rainy, windy and temps in the upper 40's.
This is where a covered pool area would have been so welcomed, as well as a true covered promenade deck. At least we could have gone outside a bit instead of spending the whole cruise ...
Choose this cruise for the fall colors and Ports it was going to. The wait staff, Bar and room staff were absolutely wonderful. There were lots of restaurant choices and all the ones we went to were great. The Spa was also very good and the service was great. The transfer from the Hotel to the ship was anything but smooth and organized. The people in charge had no organizational skills what so ...
This cruise was awesome, even though we sailed through the remnants of hurricane Michael. (More about that later)
We flew into JFK, arriving at about 9am. Airline temporarily lost our luggage and we waited for what seemed to be forever for the Princess shuttle to the pier.
The Princess transfer was absolutely terrible. Very small bus, not enough room for all the passengers, much less ...
This was our third Viking Ocean cruise and the high standards of the first two were evident on this cruise too! I would rate Viking excellent in all areas--crew, ship design/decor, cabin size/layout, etc. The food was wonderful, and there are several dining areas. We preferred the World Cafe, a buffet style restaurant for most of our meals. They have various food stations where you can custom ...
Has always been on our bucket list to share this New England cruise to see the color changes with friends.
The ports we visited were outstanding and we got to see a lot of fascinating sites. The beginning of the crew started in Quebec city and we had ample time to view the beauty of Canada before we set sail. Each day provided an outstanding view of the countryside and gave us opportunities to ...
Very comfortable ship and efficient crew, but most of the ship's recreational facilities are absolutely useless during late fall cruises since they are all out on the open decks, such as the basketball court, all pools and hot tubs, putting green, ping pong table, running/walking track "movie under the stars" venue, etc. There is no interior pool and the hot tubs are lukewarm at best. the main ...
The 5 stars are for the cruise only. The pre and post cruise services are definitely the weak link. We had booked transfers through Silversea. No one was waiting at the airport as we had been told. We dragged our luggage all over the airport on a wild goose chase until we found the transfer company. The pre-cruise night at the Intercontinental was a nightmare. Check in was very difficult, the fire ...
The cruise itself was ok. The ship is beautiful inside with tasteful decorating and furniture. The weather was beautiful considering all the hurricanes the previous weeks. The food in the general dining area, called the ‘world cafe’ was very good for breakfast ,lunch and dinner. There were two specialty restaurants: the chefs table and the Italian restaurant. The chefs table I thought was decent, ...
We appreciate the time you took to provide a detailed review of your recent voyage around the Caribbean Sea, Lkydawg. We are delighted to hear that you found interior spaces to be...
My wife and I had always wanted to go to New England and see the fall colors. This cruise was suggested to us by some friends with whom we have traveled many times over the years. When we looked the trip up on line we discovered that the price was very high, and so just assumed that this must be a luxury cruise, which appealed to us. Our mistake. Next time we will certainly do more research ...
