We chose it because of the 3 days in Bermuda. It was great. Also loved Bar Harbor and Boston. I did not like that they have eliminated the card room. Met Mah Jongg players on cruise critic but there was no place with a table big enough to play except in the buffet. Very awkward. I loved the captain’s talk on how the ship works. Very interesting. But, I wish there were more experts on board to ...
My husband and I were on NCL Escape, leaving NYC on the Memorial Day Weekend. The 3-day stopover in Bermuda gave us plenty of time to explore and enjoy the beautiful islands of Bermuda!
EMBARKATION:
It was quick and easy. Each of us carried a duffle bag and carry-on, so we bypassed all the people checking their luggage with the porters. We are also NCL Platinum members, which allow us ...
We are seasoned cruisers with 47 under our belt. We love cruising and it is obvious by having a majority of our vacations since 1995 have been on the high seas. Eleven have been with Celebrity and this has been our third on the Summit. The last time was in August 2014.
• Embarkation – Being from northern New Jersey we love the convenience of Cape Liberty. They have been making continuous ...
The good:
We absolutely loved the overall changes in decor on the Summit.
Truly beautiful.
Staff - amazing!!
Luminae continues to be great!
The Retreat lounge became our favorite place, and the servers in there - Alexandra and Ruslana were literally our favorite people on the entire ship.
The bad:
*Entertainment continues to be weak on Celebrity. The high point was the ...
We traveled to Bermuda on the NCL Escape over Memorial Day 2019 for one week leaving from NYC. We had a Mid-ship Mini Suite which is really a balcony room (no suite perks) with a slightly larger and very nicely equipped bathroom.
ROOM - we all know cruise rooms are very small but this room had a comfy bed (requested a pillow top mattress cover that really helped). The bed seemed larger than a ...
The weather was perfection and the ports were also amazing. It is so nice to be in Bermuda multiple days - if you haven't done a multi-day port yet, you should. It is so different when there is no pressure to get back to the ship.
This ship is ship shape and one of the VERY few ships in the world to get a 100 score in regards to health/cleanliness. It shows. The staff is great.
Where are ...
Wanted to visit Bermuda again and the New England ports. Also wanted to go on this ship after the refurbishment.
They have made a super job of refitting the staterooms and communal rooms. Everything looks fresh and clean.
Entertainment was overall good, and the production crew were the best, although they have now moved on to other contracts. The staff were all happy and smiling as usual and ...
I always choose to sail out of NYC because it's easy for me to get there and NO FLYING!!
I love cruising with NCL because of the "do what you want to do" atmosphere. There's always fun night parties and passengers of all ages attend and seem to really have a great time. The dining options are very wide, and although I did not do specialty dining this time, I have in the past and they are ...
Back from the May 24, 2019 sailing of Gem to Bermuda. This was our 19th NCL cruise, and second time on the Gem. All prior reviews are posted on here.
We had an obstructed window room on Deck 8 that had two oblong porthole windows. Love these rooms for their value and location. No complaints here and our steward, Fan, was terrific.
Customer Service overall was subpar on this sailing ...
We sailed from Cape Liberty. The port was driving distance from our home. We had a 1230-1pm boarding time. We drove directly up to the porters and luggage crates albeit a line of cars the luggage drop off went pretty smoothly. The parking garage was on the right after the terminal. Parking for 9 days cost $198. The terminal was a bit crowded with a long line of passengers trying to get ...
