Regent has been on our list for a while so this itinerary seemed perfect for us. The first clue it might not be great was the check-in at Barcelona, the guests seemed very old. I'm guessing the average age was in the 80s, or at least that's how it felt. People just weren't that friendly (unlike the staff) and it seemed to be a who has been on the most Regent cruises competition. The ship was ...
Overall an enjoyable cruise with one of our favourite cruise lines. The food was very good and on a few occasions much better than expected. However the Prima not our favourite ship, by a long way. The layout is poor with small venues and tight walkways, they really have crammed everything into this ship.
THE SHIP
As stated we were not fans of the ship overall, the decor is stunning in most ...
For comparison, we were on the NCL Escape last year. Newer doesn’t mean better. This is the case of the NCL Prima. It feels like being on a moving upscale hotel on water. It’s not like being on a typical cruise ship that we used to. The general areas where the shops, the customer services are located are just “blah”, nothing fancy. There is no sparkling twirling staircase or fancy ceiling. ...
We took this cruise with minimal expectations, and were not disappointed in this respect. Embarkation was at times quite chaotic. The ship is beautiful, quite impressive. The cabin with balcony was quiet, comfortable and as expected. Room Service was not impressive, when we arrived we found that the cabin that was declared cleaned and sanitized was mostly not. But they responded quickly to our ...
We decided to take the 12 days trans Atlantic crossing on the Onward. This was out 14th cruise, 5 or which was on Azamara, and 3 were on the Onward. I didn't expect cruise on Azamara again since the last two Onward cruises were just average at best. But with the past cruise credits we had and the good price on the repositing of the board, we decided to cruise with them one more time.
My ...
Let me start by saying his is the fourth cruise line we've experienced (in addition to Disney, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean) so I have some perspective to compare things with.
We are a couple in our late 30s with two kids (9 + 7), and we're traveling with my in-laws (60s + 30s).
I've broken things into categories below:

Embarkation: We're from Virginia so boarding a cruise in ...
We chose this cruise because it was going to interesting places we hadn't seen before, and finishing in New York. Firstly we would mention that the ship was very nice, as was our room. On the whole, the food was very good, (on many occasions, could be hotter) and in most cases the staff were excellent. However in regard to organisation, It was a shambles! Half way through the cruise they ran out ...
Before I begin my review of the cruise, I want to say that we are Sapphire with NCL. That means that we have spent a few days cruising with NCL and have seen many changes over the past few years. We cruised 46-days with NCL in 2023 alone.
If you think that this is leading up to a bad review then you would be correct. While there were many good things about this cruise, like some of the ...
We had to change rooms three times due to noise above our cabin. Theater was too small for the number of guests on board. My wife and I had to sit apart due to lack of seats. Too many people with long lines everywhere. The infinity balcony was a large window that opened halfway. Very disappointed in design of ship. In Oceanview cafe seats were hard to get and we returned to our cabin to eat. ...
There are no bad cruises, for us they are adequate to excellent. However, I am writing this review while drinking what is perhaps the worst coffee at Sea on Silver Shadow. The saga of the bad coffee at sea pretty much sums up the cruise experience. This is our 4th Silversea cruise and we generally like a small ship experience. Besides SS we have cruised on Crystal, Oceania, Seabourn and Regent. ...
