I really do not know where to start with my review of the Northern Cruise with MSC.
We have cruised with a few other cruise lines and I can honestly say that this was worse than being stuck in a Fawlty Towers sitcom Hotel/Butlins.
Initially I had read several reviews from various sites in regards to the cruise we had chosen, and I honestly thought that surely it could not be that bad? Oh ...
they don't tell you that the weather will "probably" stink--1st stop Bergen-now they tell us it's the rainiest city in europe-rain coming down sideways-couldn't get off the tour bus-day 1 wasted-sailing to Alta was fine-decent weather-get toAlta-if its cloudy, which it was-there's nothing there-excursions are expensive but necessary-try the husky ride -its very very good-typical clouds, no ...
Sailing to Northern lights: this 25 year old lady scrubbed up well, better than the old lady writing the review.
The ship had 1,090 guests on board and in places you noticed, slow service in some of the public areas and the buffet, "Borough Market", was best summed up by some other passengers as "Cattle Market". It was woeful, traffic flow down narrow passage ways a complete struggle and simply ...
When reading the Hurtigruten publicity for the refitted Trollfjord you would expect to find an exquisite small cruise ship, what you get is an overcrowded cheaply converted coastal ferry.
The standard cabins are small with low cost fittings. Our bathroom cabinet didn’t close and the shower fitting fell to bits. The bed was uncomfortable.
Dinning was not the highlight one would hope for. ...
My family decided to try a cruise as a potential new style holiday with small kids (4 & 1). My wife has cruised once before with RC and was quite seasick but it was a first for the rest of us and we thought we would give cruising one last chance before deciding on future vacations.
We went into the cruise with fairly modest expectations having spent much time reading reviews on here and ...
Pros are supposed to go before cons, so I will put the positives first, but please don’t miss the negatives later in this review, because although there were a few redeeming qualities, make no mistake, I would never sail with MSC again.
First positive, all the staff below the managerial level deserve to be commended for being true, if not powerless, delights. We had many wonderful interactions ...
Have sailed several times with Fred Olsen on the Borealis, this will probably be my last cruise with them. The suite was tired looking, with two large patches of water damage stained black. Despite this, it had everything needed for a comfortable short cruise. The cabin stewardess was excellent, nothing felt like too much trouble, but this really is where the positives end. The ship has not aged ...
The ship is basic having sailed on others it was a poor relation. We had the drinks package which is worth buying just a shame the bar staff are so slow to serve you.
We kept asking for a bowl of crisps but they are so reluctant to give you any I don’t know why, we asked every night but only managed two bowls after asking several times, most of the time they just ignored us.
The restaurant ...
This trip was advertised as Christmas Along the Elbe. It should have been advertised as Cold War History Along the Elbe. After booking this trip back in 2021, the date finally arrived for my husband and my mother to embark on this long-awaited trip to visit the Christmas Markets of Europe we had heard and read about for so many years and longed to visit and experience. Berlin alone, touted more ...
I chose this to visit the Christmas market in Hamburg and Antwerp and as a test run to see whether it would be worth booking a longer cruise. It certainly decided me that I would not make any further trips with Ambassador.
The administration from the head office is somewhat inefficient. I am still waiting for a full response the automatic acknowledgement promised me after I emailed them on ...
