Very nice ship with a few shortcomings

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Venus

Overall, we loved the ship - the size was about perfect to have more amenities but not too many people. The stateroom and public spaces were very comfortable and well done without being ostentatious. The food was generally very good but there were some definite misses. The asian style dishes were generally excellent as were breakfasts and lunch in the cafe. We found most pastries to be ...

I was very impressed with your superior service and staff. The food was outstanding and alway felt it was fresh. The best place to eat was The Restaurant. They also had the best and friendliest staff. I was greeted with a smile and even excellent recall of my favorites! I was not impressed with Italian restaurant service. The staff we encountered at our meal was difficult to understand. She was ...

REVIEW FOR VIKING VENUS THROUGH CRUISE CRITIC This is our fifth journey with VIKING CRUISES, but this is our first time to try an Ocean cruise. My husband and I sailed the Bordeaux wine river cruise in 2017 with friends, the Danube and Rhine Christmas market river cruises in 2019 and 2021 to celebrate my birthday, the Lyon and Provence river cruise with friends in 2022. We thought River ...

Value for money but not for us

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Euribia

We booked this cruise last minute as it seemed to be a good deal with a reduced drinks package fee and complimentary balcony upgrade. We had heard mixed reviews from other cruisers but as it was a good price we were willing to give it a go. Overall impression of the ship - really beautiful aesthetic and the galleria area is impressive, however, on an evening when there are events happening the ...

Shaky start to otherwise excellent cruise

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Balmoral

Booked this cruise over a year ago to go in search of the northern lights. Relocation cruise prior to ours was cancelled due to an outbreak of gastrointestinal cases. This meant some hygiene restrictions were still in place for first few days. This did lead to some inconvenience and slow service. Some toilets were closed. After three days the restrictions were lifted and everything got back to ...

We rebooked on another bargain cruise in Yacht club on Euribia. We loved every minute and look forward to returning soon. The yacht club is well run and all our needs were met. Fabulous staff including butler Abhi and assistant butler Timmy who spoiled us rotten. Any issues were immediately rectified by them along with the excellent concierge team. Food was top notch and restaurant staff ...

Woeful guest relations, otherwise does well

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ambition

Sailing to Northern lights: this 25 year old lady scrubbed up well, better than the old lady writing the review. The ship had 1,090 guests on board and in places you noticed, slow service in some of the public areas and the buffet, "Borough Market", was best summed up by some other passengers as "Cattle Market". It was woeful, traffic flow down narrow passage ways a complete struggle and simply ...

This was our first Viking Cruise but we have been on may others. We heard Viking was very good and a good value, we would now agree. Our goal was to see the Northern Lights, I know they don't control that but even if we hadn't seen them ( which we did 5 nights) we would of been very happy witht the cruise. The ship was spotless and beautiful, the crew was friendly beyond belief. Everyone had a ...

Poor service, poor ship

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Trollfjord

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 70s

When reading the Hurtigruten publicity for the refitted Trollfjord you would expect to find an exquisite small cruise ship, what you get is an overcrowded cheaply converted coastal ferry. The standard cabins are small with low cost fittings. Our bathroom cabinet didn’t close and the shower fitting fell to bits. The bed was uncomfortable. Dinning was not the highlight one would hope for. ...

Trip of a Lifetime to Northern Lights

From the minute we walked on board we could feel the elegance of a Viking Ship. Our State Room was ready and it was what I expected and more. The choices of food are outstanding, and many I have never had before. Service on the ship made us feel like family, all crew members we encountered go above and beyond to help you. Some excursions were cancelled due to high winds at port. Whenever ...
