I recently went on a 3 night cruise from Southampton on the Virtuosa. We had a very cheap price (around £350 each for a balcony cabin, inclusive of drinks package) so my expectations were pretty low to start. We have previously sailed Cunard and Princess and whilst I knew MSC were very much the other end of the cruising spectrum, I didn’t expect it to be quite as rough as it was.
Embarkation ...
We just returned from the 10-Day Iceland & Norway cruise. As with any cruise, there are positives and negatives. Unfortunately, the negatives exceeded the positives on this trip.
Embarkation was awful. Waiting outside on a cold and windy day was not a pleasant experience. Getting through security took well over an hour. As we boarded we were given a paper which stated that 2 out of the 3 ports ...
We traveled to Scandinavia out of Amsterdam May 2023. We traveled with 10 people total, including a two year old. Had one penthouse room and three retreat suites.
We had done NCL last October and did the Haven so we were thrilled about trying the upscale Celebrity line.
I’m never using Celebrity again. The food was so atrocious (except for the Eden).
The customer service including an ...
It was cheap !
It was local !
It floated on the water even if if vibrated more than a road menders drill when going at more than 10kts !
If you are after a step back in time with classic carpets and decor with added rust, together with the smell of musty hoovers and damp carpets where the superstructure leaks, coupled with public area windows that have either failed with misty panes, or ...
We took this cruise because we had a voucher we received from Viking due to previous covid related planned river cruises. We had previously taken three Viking River Cruises which were excellent. Organization was outstanding; communication with passengers also excellent; excursions were great. Naturally, we expected the same on an ocean cruise however, that turned out not to be the case. ...
One of the destinations on my bucket list was Iceland. The package offered, including airfare was enticing. Even though NCL supposedly arranged the tickets in June 2022, I couldn't get definite details until the cruise was paid in full. They booked Jet Blue for the outgoing flight and Icelandair /Jet Blue for the return. I'll get into more details about that fiasco later.
Once at the port ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary. The ship is beautiful but there isn’t a good flow on the ship. We are long time cruisers of NCL (sapphire level). I would have to rate this as the worse cruise with NCL. Dining in main restaurants as well as specialty dining did not meet our expectations. Shows were all but non existing and entertainment throughout the ship was below par. This was eleven ...
14 Day Cruise ended up with 8 days at sea unable to get into 3 ports out of 4. The ship was so crowded trying to find somewhere to sit was impossible as the upper deck was closed due very cold temperatures and high winds.
These new ships are a joke all about creating small cabins to get more people on board this was my 12th cruise with Princess and probably my last. In future I will cruise on ...
Booked this trip to see Norway and all it has to offer.
The ship is huge. All shows were booked out for amost the entire trip. Some restaurants were never available so could not experience them at all.
Unfortunately the cruise company did not advise that 2 of the 4 stops in Norway would be closed due public holidays. So nothing to do when you disembark. This would have been nice to know ...
I was convinced to go on a cruise by my mother, who wanted to see the Norwegian Fjords and needed some help getting around as she is disabled and cannot walk more than a few steps.
After checking online for a suitable cruise, I came across an impressive video on "YouTube", featuring a virtual tour of the P&O ship "Iona" which I was drawn to immediately.
I managed to book a cabin with ...
