Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Explora I

The ship is beautiful, but there are serious design and other operational problems. The stateroom is large and very beautiful. Whatever kind of bedding you need, they will change you to a queen bed or 2 single beds, by moving in new mattresses. The heated bathroom floor is wonderful, but the shower design is insane, It’s impossible to shower without water flooding your bathroom, so I had to put ...

Enjoy NCL overall, but Prima is not the ship for me

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My review would actually be a 3.5. I wanted to love the Prima. At first glance, it's a really pretty ship, very different from the other NCL ships ( in the last 12 months, I've sailed on Jade, Breakaway and Joy). Contemporary, fresh and bright. Staterooms were nice, large and great storage. On paper had a lot of great venues, Waterfront, go-cart, drop slides. But unfortunately I won't ...

THE GOOD NEWS AND THE BAD NEWS

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Good news: 10 day cruise; Iceland, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium. Balcony on starboard mid ships, 10th deck. As one would expect - nice, clean, new. Bath was roomy for a cruise ship and the shower was LARGE. Water pressure barely ok. A/C fine. be fine. Don't expect big beside table on one side. Bed is a mite higher so large lugguge WILL fit underneath bed. If you are a magnet user (extra ...

Satisfactory but lacking.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

I have cruised HA 15 times. Love the line. We took this cruise and extended another 14 days to travel to Egypt, Turkey, Greece etc. so we were on the ship a total of 25 days. HA has always attracted an older crowd and the ship is usually fairly full. We noticed the following during our 25 days: (1) Poor officer interaction with passengers (2) poorly trained Lido floor wait staff (3) lack of ...

Potentially Quite Good but no there yet

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Marina

We responded to a special offer as we liked the look of the itinerary. Some guests arriving by private car found that the problems started before boarding as they had not been sent luggage labels. We phoned in advance to ask about this and were told that we get them at check-in. Great, but by then we would have dropped our car off for parking and our bags would have been taken by the baggage ...

An average experience in the Yacht Club

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We've sailed MSC Yacht Club many times before and this was a mediocre experience. To start with the positives, the ship was so beautiful, and well cared for. We loved the atrium and the ever-changing ceiling. We loved the one Carousel show that we saw, Ajedrez. Our room in the Yacht Club was a deluxe balcony room and it was large, spacious and had a nice sized balcony. The bed was ...

Impressive ship but way too crowded

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

My partner and I booked this cruise after being on one in February with NCL. We fell in love with cruising and couldn't wait another year until the next one. We found a great deal on Iglu for the MSC Virtuosa to the Norwegian Fjords. We had certain expectations going onto the cruise based on what we'd experienced with NCL which left us slightly disappointed. We received an embarkation time of ...

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

We toured on Silhouette’s sister ship Reflection last May and based on this experience and the itinerary chose Celebrity again. At all times any staff we encountered were enthusiastic, interested and as helpful as we could wish for. All breakfasts in any of the settings we tried were outstanding During the cruise we ate dinner in Murano and the Tuscan Grill, both were ...

IS THE JEWEL A TRAINING SHIP? Several of our fellow passengers thought so...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

The food was mediocre at best. The itinerary was why we chose this cruise. I have been around long enough to know that the new, splashy ships have the least interesting itineraries, and the older tired ships have the most interesting itineraries. However, I did not expect the older ship to offer subpar food and experiences. The salad dressings had no flavor at all, and the soups were just ...

Expected better from RCCL

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary. We are not novice cruises, having done over 60 of them. The ship is older, but appears to be well maintained for the most part. Embarktation was slow, stood in line for over an hour before we boarded. We had a balcony cabin that was spacious and featured good storage. Most employees try very hard to please, but overall management is ...
