1st cruise post covid, we had this trip booked for September 2020 which was cancelled. Three of us travelling in 2 balcony cabins, part of celebrating my mums 80th birthday. Husband and I have completed a number of cruises on Princess, RCI, Celebrity & P&O. Boarding was one of the slickest we have experienced, 30 mins from arrival at port to being on the ship, we did arrive near to our ...

This was our first time on a Viking cruise. We had taken many other cruises with various different companies in the past. We had heard good things about Viking. Both my husband and I thought the entire cruise was just average. We did experience bad weather during our cruise and missed a total of 4 ports, so instead of only having 1 sea day we had 5. The company said since it was weather ...

Not really a Fjords cruise.....

Overall I had a lovely holiday, I always try to write reviews that are honest and hopefully help other people make decisions about their holidays. I will say this is only my second cruise - my first was in 2020 with Costa to Madagascar. I am by no means a cruise expert, but I do travel abroad at least twice a year, So i hope this helps you in some way. We booked in January the " BRAND NEW ...

Poor management - understaffed.

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was our fourth NCL cruise, but the first for quite a while preferring Celebrity and RCL but this itinerary included many of our “bucket list” ports, including Reykjavik and Lerwick (Shetland). It is very obvious that they are understaffed, and undertrained. The front-line help is courteous enough but not prepared or allowed to problem solve. There is lack of communication between ...

Not a Superior Cruise

We chose this cruise because the itinerary was quite varied and promised a good overall experience in Europe, including 2 days in Iceland. We had also heard that NCL was a good cruise line. Before the cruise: Spent several hours trying to book dining, shows and prepaying for services that we wished to have. Was able to book regular dining for some of the days aboard, including 4 specialty ...

There were several things we enjoyed about this cruise - our beautiful and large Neptune Suite stateroom, the food and service in the "Club Orange" dining room, the newness and cleanliness of the ship, and some of the nightly entertainment. Our frustration and disappointment began when we learned just after the cruise that we had been charged $250 for "General Supplies", which we later discovered ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Explora I

The ship is beautiful, but there are serious design and other operational problems. The stateroom is large and very beautiful. Whatever kind of bedding you need, they will change you to a queen bed or 2 single beds, by moving in new mattresses. The heated bathroom floor is wonderful, but the shower design is insane, It’s impossible to shower without water flooding your bathroom, so I had to put ...

Enjoy NCL overall, but Prima is not the ship for me

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My review would actually be a 3.5. I wanted to love the Prima. At first glance, it's a really pretty ship, very different from the other NCL ships ( in the last 12 months, I've sailed on Jade, Breakaway and Joy). Contemporary, fresh and bright. Staterooms were nice, large and great storage. On paper had a lot of great venues, Waterfront, go-cart, drop slides. But unfortunately I won't ...

THE GOOD NEWS AND THE BAD NEWS

Review for a Arctic Cruise on Norwegian Prima

Good news: 10 day cruise; Iceland, Norway, Netherlands, Belgium. Balcony on starboard mid ships, 10th deck. As one would expect - nice, clean, new. Bath was roomy for a cruise ship and the shower was LARGE. Water pressure barely ok. A/C fine. be fine. Don't expect big beside table on one side. Bed is a mite higher so large lugguge WILL fit underneath bed. If you are a magnet user (extra ...

Satisfactory but lacking.

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

I have cruised HA 15 times. Love the line. We took this cruise and extended another 14 days to travel to Egypt, Turkey, Greece etc. so we were on the ship a total of 25 days. HA has always attracted an older crowd and the ship is usually fairly full. We noticed the following during our 25 days: (1) Poor officer interaction with passengers (2) poorly trained Lido floor wait staff (3) lack of ...
