Huge Disappointment

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

Chose for Northern Lights/Arctic Circle Itinerary. Ship was beautiful and was very impressed at first. We selected a Deluxe Balcony Stateroom and it was quite small. There was not enough hanging space. Fortunately we knew enough to bring magnetic hooks or it would have been a worse mess. The food was average and the service was average at best. Some people were great, like our room steward. ...

The Gold Standard For Ships (but not for shore excursions)

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Sky

It is probably important for you to know my family and I are seasoned cruisers. Over the past 25 years we’ve sailed a total of 31 times on Celebrity, Holland America, Cunard, Princes, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, NCL, and MSC. This was our first sailing with Viking Ocean. We’ve wanted to try another upscale, luxury line after sailing on Azamara a few years ago, but have never been ready to ...

Review of my 7 days Northern Lights Voyage with Hurtigruten's MS Trollfjord, January 2019. Northbound from Bergen to Kirkenes - Arctic Circle crossing, Polar night, Northern Lights, North Cape, Dog Sledding, and Kirkenes Snowhotel. Hurtigruten is operating 11 vessels along the Norwegian West Coast - daily departures from Bergen to Kirkenes and return (total of 11 nights). It was not a ...

Not value for money

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Nordnorge

Chose this due to fantastic marketing by Hurtigruten but the reality does not live up to the marketing. The Norwegian coast is not how it's portrayed in promotional material and the towns are not quaint fishing village types but industrial towns. Not very attractive. The food was OK and varied choices buffet style for breakfast and lunch. Set dinner served most nights, portion size small. Buffet ...

An interesting view of Norwegian Coast

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Richard With

Something different from the Meditteranean. Did some Google research and felt this could be an interesting alternative to meditteranean cruises. Overall very good but there are critiscisms. Ship, staff, cabins, service all excellent. Dining more than excellent with buffets for Breakfast and Lunch, but the single item fixed menu at Dinner would benefit from maybe one additional choice. There is ...

Amazing Staff, food & cabin

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Spitsbergen

We got a good deal with an inside cabin for the voyage from Kirkenes to Bergen, Norway. Our cabin was so clean & the bed was more comfortable than at home. The food was generous and varied. Hint, don’t expect to lose weight on this ship! The breakfast was a buffet each day, with lunches generally too. Dinner at night was table seating at our reserved table. The food was quite varied each day. Even ...

It was the first world cruise for msc. we had done two other world cruises with holland america and costa cruise. When we compered the msc cruise with the other two was very poor in several areas. Cost: we paid a lot more money for this cruise so we espected more. The cabin with balcony 9080 was very small and impossible to organize clothing and shoes. Food: the food in the buffet was ...

Amazing experience

This was our first experience of a cunard cruise. We kind of chose the cruise as a taster as we have booked a transatlantic crossing on the QM2 in November 2019, so we wanted to get a feel for what Cunard was all about. We were not disappointed. Embarkation at Southampton was smooth. We were able to check in without any issues. A short wait in the terminal before being called to ...

Wonderful way to see the remote Norwegian north

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Nordkapp

My mom and I very much enjoyed our Norwegian Coastal Voyage on Hurtigruten's MS Nordkapp during the winter months. The experience was relaxing and scenic - given the winter weather - the food was very good, and the staff was friendly. In writing this review, I'm mindful of shaping expectations for anyone interested in Hurtigruten's Norway Coastal Voyages, since I had a hard time finding the kind ...
