Disappointed, again!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Iona

To give this review context I have sailed with P&O many times over 20 years and the same with many other brands, I have lots of different experience of how things are done onboard. I’m disappointed to say that I have one more cruise booked with P&O (which is a FCC) and then I will not be sailing with them again. If you are new to cruising my complaints may seem trivial but if like me you are ...

Behind the gloss….

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

We are experienced cruise takers however had never tried MSC so when a low price came along we thought we would give them a whirl….now we know why it was a low price. Firstly the ship is very big, very glossy and very flash so the impression you get when boarding is wow…..right up until you are pushed a show package at €15, a few steps more a drinks package, round the corner a meal package. The ...

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Venus

The main reason we chose this cruise was to go do some activities in the snow. we prebooked and paid in full for the excursions we wanted to do. Eg: Stay in an Ice Hotel overnight, go reindeer sleighing, husky sleigh ride and ride a snow-mobile. We DID NOT do any of these. We tried booking a helicopter ride at one of the replacement ports and that got cancelled too. Then tried to rebook a ...

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Balmoral

We chose this cruise for Havana, Antarctic and Iguazu falls. Havana was scheduled as an evening in port followed by a full day. It was cancelled at the last minute and a half day in Nassau substituted. Not a like for like change. The tendered port of Ushuaia was a shambles, overcrowded and long queues for tenders in torrential rain. Iguazu falls was cancelled at the airport in Rio due to technical ...

1st and Last time with P&O

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Ventura

Our 1st P&O cruise and possibly our only one. Ship overall is OK in terms of design and features, very tatty though in places and felt quite neglected. Only one way to describe the food, Awful, to the point we had to meet and complain with the head of department. Food in MDR was inedible and service was pretty poor too. We left after the main course on first night and didn't return as ...

Worst ship ever

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Virtuosa

This ship is completely wrong designed, it just doesn't have the capacity to accommodate such a large number of guests. We were travelling during the winter and it was even worse, because you couldn't use the outdoor space, so it was even crowder inside. Every night people were blocking all the available tables everywhere on the ship, so you cannot really find anywhere a place to sit. Every ...

Dreadful experience

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Arcadia

Well this was a New Years cruise that I will never forget and all for the wrong reasons. This cruise was a 60th birthday present brought for me by my wife back in 2021. The start didn't go well with us having to wait to board the ship having to enter all our details again because the computer system had broken. Entrance to the ship is very underwhelming there is no atrium to wow the ...

Went on Arcadia for new year with my wife, this was our fifth time on Arcadia and we basically thought most things had gone downhill, so are listing our thoughts as pros and cons: - Pros: • The Main Dining Room, considering all the negative reviews the food quality was much better than expected • It was good to see that some of the pre-Covid onboard staff have returned to the ...

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Arcadia

We chose this cruise as had been on Arcadia a few years before and it was exquisite, so had so had qualms about booking another cruise. From the start to the finish this cruise was appalling in every way. Queuing an hour every night to get a table for dinner. The queue went half way along the ship. The food was repetitive, very small portions, always warm. Staff didn't seem to understand what ...
