This was my first time on a cruise and did not have any expectations to speak of. I had heard many pieces of advice from friends, but decided to go with the flow. The overall experience was terrific - everyone (with the exception of one worker ) was gracious and friendly. The dining room staff was very nice as were the servers in the buffet. The ship was very clean and the house keeping staff were wonderful. The food choices were good although the last day I did notice substitution's in my meal and the wait staff offered to exchange it but it was tasty the way it was made so I said no. Our suite served us with plenty of room and the beds as well as the sofa were comfortable. The balcony was larger than expected although we did not spend much time there it was a nice addition. We enjoyed shopping on Nassau, I did not care for the straw market , I felt they were pushy and it was overwhelming. I did enjoy food and browsing the shops the locals were very nice and helpful in suggesting cafes. I would definitely take another cruise and was very pleased with Carnival. Read Less

We always cruise out of NYC, I cannot fly and the Port in NYC is fantastic. The pierside team was very helpful and the Port manager Kenny could not have been any more helpful. We arrived a little before 10:00 and were onboard by 11:00. This was our 7th cruise with NCL and 2nd on the Escape. We sailed one previous cruise with another line and were less than pleased almost to the point of not wanting to cruise again.      We sailed this past July and had a great time. We went to the CC meet and greet, and had the opportunity to meet some of the executive staff. We booked this trip, with 4 other families and there was a total of 15. We bid on the Haven upgrade and were successful. Since sailing in July and having made friends with the restaurant manager Mr. Melroy, we have stayed in contact and were happy to see him back. From day one he took care of the entire group. He was an absolute blessing for a large group.      This is our third NCL ship and by far the best, the Haven was as expected, nothing short of perfect. The concierge Adrian was spot on every time, the Butler Christopher took great care of us and the kids loved him. Dennis our room Stewart was also fantastic, always interested in our day and making sure we had a great time.  The haven family two bedroom worked perfect.  The kids had there own space and bathroom. Even with some of there friends watching a movie they were never under foot. Ample storage space for the Mrs's and my suit case fit perfect under the bed Read Less

We were a group of eight, but knew 40 people on this sailing ranging from Elementary school to adults and grandparents. Everyone had an amazing time. We were in adjoining rooms 11286 and 11288. Room 11288 was larger with an angled balcony. I believe it is considered a hump room. It was set up for our children with the couch in the front and their beds in the back. I much preferred that set up, to the king bed in the front of the room of 11288 because it made the room feel smaller than necessary. By my measurements room 11288 has about 5 extra inches in width. The balconies can be partially connected, but there is still some portion blocked. But having both of them was really a nice feature. Our dining staff were exemplary and went out of their way to assist with our allergies. At no time did it feel like I inconvenienced them, and they always took my concerns and needs very seriously. I do wish they had better dessert options for dairy allergies, but I know the chef tried to come up with items. It would have been nice if they had dairy free desserts. Overall the food was good, and the service impeccable. We did the ifly and the north star. Both were really fun. Our ifly instructor was incredibly calming and funny. He helped us go beyond the basics for those that had done it before, which was really appreciated. For those in our party that were afraid, he helped them overcome their fears and succeed in creating amazing memories. We took RC excursions to NASA. They used a company with yellow shirts, although the man on our bus said we could ask any guide with a yellow shirt questions in the park, when I tried to do so, a woman with the company said I did not pay for her tour guide services, merely to ride on their bus when I asked what the best attraction for children would be. I had no idea that there were two different tour options, but that was not a pleasant response. She had not begun any tour as I would not have asked that of someone giving a tour, since we were all congregating around the main entrance I figured a question on where to go was appropriate. So be forewarned that they don't give advice. Coco cay was lovely. It is a long walk on the pier, so wear comfortable shoes. The beach is beautiful and there are plenty of chairs. The pool is fantasy. I loved the white chairs in the water, as well as the swim up bar. There are plenty of chairs with umbrellas to use. The shops have decent souvenirs. Be mindful of the trees as they are planted in cement and I unwittingly stubbed my toe on one. The Atlantis is huge. It really helps if you know where you are going. Please look for a map before going to really understand the resort layout. They have dole whips which are great, near the kids pool play space. Because of height requirements I would recommend going with children who really exceed the limits. The rides are a lot of fun, but I saw kids who were too small denied access to the slides quite miserable. Please make sure to look at the height and weight of your child to not disappoint them. I have to speak about the shows on board. While the acting, singing, stagework, anamatronics, musicians, lighting all did an excellent and amazing job, the overall stories of the shows were confusing at best, and disturbing at worse. If you have a dying family member, skip the gift. The story was terrible. We sat next to someone who saw it 10 times and still could not figure it out. It was just a terrible plot and unnecessarily sad. Spectra's Cabaret was very loud, please bring ear plugs to save your hearing. The TVs were cool, and the stage work was excellent. I enjoyed the music and the showmanship. The bumper cars were a huge, huge hit with my family. I wish we got towel animals daily, but only received two. What we did get were interesting, a frog and a dog. My in laws got a peacock. The one issue with the ship is that the elevators were always going out of order in the aft section of the ship. I spoke with maintenance in person after we were stuck inside the elevator. From speaking to numerous other guests, our experience was not isolated. The elevators would stop on floors and not open doors until someone outside of the elevator would push for the elevator. Sometimes, even when you had a floor pushed and the elevator was going in that direction, it would stop and change directions missing your floor, or not taking you to a higher level floor. The forward elevators seemed to work properly, but with a room in the aft section it made traveling slightly difficult. Overall the ship was great, the staff excellent, and the weather wonderful. We already miss being on board. We were sad to see no April 2020 ships from NJ, except a transatlantic ship which does not fulfill our spring break needs. Read Less

Love NCL. Family loves to travel in the Haven. Beautiful ship. Fantastic staff. From the moment we arrived at the pier every employee had a smile and was eager to get our vacation under way. We were on the ship in less than 45 minutes. We were in a 2 bedroom villa, room was beautiful, clean. Chris our butler helped us unpack right away and we were off having a drink and lunch before 1:00pm! The shows were great especially Choir of man! Unbelievable talent. After Midnight was very good also. Plenty of activities if you want, plenty of quite also. Therma Spa was nice and relaxing. Gym had plenty of equipment. Slides are fun... Howl at the moon wasn’t as good as it has been in the past. Cagneys was a bit disappointing. Moderno, Margaritaville,Food Republic & Tempanaki all excellent.... Our staff at the Haven I cannot compliment enough. Read Less

I just came back from the March 31st sailing from NY to the Bahamas and had a wonderful time on the beautiful Escape. I booked just a week in advance for a guarantee balcony (last minute deal) and lucked out with the aft balcony 12908, next to a Haven cabin. My new Platinum status came with all sort of perks that make me feel like a VIP. I arrived at the terminal at 10:38 and was able to check in immediately as Group 1 and boarded the ship by 11 am. After lunch, I went to the Supper Club and made the show reservations. I also went to CruiseNext desk to book the Behind the Scenes tour (very informative) for Platinum members which took place at 9:15 am the very next day. I saw 2 separate Supper Club shows (Comedian/Magician and Rocketman) and had 2 separate dinner menus. I also booked the Escape to the Big Top which is very challenging. One 1 out of the 10 teams was able to solve the puzzle with a minute left on the clock. I loved the Choir of Men show, saw it twice, enjoyed the choreography of After Midnight and it was fun to listen to Dueling Pianos (come early to grab seats). I then went to the Comedy Club to make the reservations for my 2 free specialty dinners (remember to grab the coupons to bring to dinner). Had a free bottle of wine with the Le Bistro dinner. The cabin was ready by 1:30 and had the free sparkling wine and water as my Platinum perks. Chocolate covered strawberries were delivered later that afternoon. I also received petit fours when we were in Nassau. I had fun on the water rides and the ropes course. Played Bocce for the very first time. Food at the buffet was decent too. We ate there for both the Seafood Night and the Oriental Night. Also had 2 types of wings at O'Sheehans. Had a great server Danilo at the Savor who was very attentive and serve our food promptly with no long waits in between. The game shows at the Atrium is always crowded so come early if you want a seat. The audience participation was wonderful so the shows were fun to watch. I stayed on the ship when we arrived at Port Canaveral to enjoy the activities onboard since I've been to the Kenneday Space Center. We didn't dock at Great Stirrup Cay due to high wind and arrived at Nassau instead by 1 pm. I signed up for the Atlantis Beach break and had a great time touring the resort, seeing the Big Dig aquarium and enjoying the waves at Atlantis Beach (paid $20 for a beach umbrella so bring some cash). On the next day, we paid $30/person for the 2.5 hour taxi tour around the island. We went to Fort Fincastle, Queen's Staircase, Fort and Beach Montague (calm beach) and instead of Atlantis, saw Cabbage Beach (beautiful but very high waves) instead. Afterwards, we walked around town for some shopping and also did the 15 minute walk to Junkanoo Beach (rocky in certain spots so need water shoes). On the final morning, we had a leisurely breakfast at Savor. Then played ping pong until our tag color was called. We had the Red tag and it took an hour to finally leave the ship and clear customs (lined up at 10 and exited by 11) . I think the aft exit might have a shorter wait since they don't have as much distance to walk. All in all, it was a great cruise and I would love to come back to the Escape again. Bought more CruiseNext certificates to apply toward future cruises. Read Less

we booked the escape a week and a half before the cruise and we did not know what to expect. Some of our friends loved the ship others hated it. SURPRISE we loved it. SO much to do on this ship much more than its sister ship breakaway. We love dancing and every night we danced from 7 till 11 without stopping. There are 4 bands on the ship all great they took turns playing. They were all great but we especially loved the Funky Duo and the Classic Tones. There was all kinds of music we love Latin dancing and we were not disappointed. There were two shows you had to reserve ahead of time the Choir of Men which was excellent so much fun and After Midnight which was also great. There are comedians in Levity make sure to reserve the shows as soon as you get on the ship so you don't have to wait in stand by lines. There are the dueling pianos on every other nights instead of the comedians. Then there is the Supper Club ;presenting different fun acts most of the time it is free so again sign up the first day if you think you might be interested. We actually just showed up before the shows started and sat in the back and just watched the shows. So much to do on this ship. Only disadvantages were the H2O which is outside and in bad weather was pushed into a smaller area inside and the fact that the Atrium not a humongous space was used for many acitiviies lots of noise and kids when the material is adult material. Food was very good. We love the fact that O'Sheehan's Bar and Grill is open till 4AM. Overall a wonderful experience Read Less

We stayed in the owners loft suite which includes access to the Royal Genie. Are gratuities were included. All food and drink was included in our fare. When we got to the terminal we were quickly escorted around the rest of the people in line to an expedited Lane. Our royal Genie Wendy ensured we got on the ship quickly. During the entire cruise Wendy took care of everything that we needed. She saved us seats at all the shows we attended so that we could walk right in. We called her when we needed food and it was promptly delivered to our suite. Wendy took care of making all restaurant reservations. She also provided recommendations when we were looking for something to do. Wendy was great and made sure things like food arrived to our stateroom on time as well as our laundry. Wendy has a can do attitude coupled with a strong desire to give you a great vacation. Our are Loft attendant Brian was excellent. At least two times or more a day he cleaned the suite and made sure everything was in top-notch condition. Both Brian and Wendy were very pleasant to be around and you could tell they took a genuine interest in people. The specialty restaurants food was top-notch. We especially likes how unique and delicious Wonderland was. Read Less

The ship itself was very clean and nice after the rehab last year. Always something going on. The at sea days are never my favorite...decks always packed and almost all chairs reserved by 8am. The staff does not enforce the “no reserving seats” rule. Other passengers just moved the towels off the reserved seats and took them which was pretty awesome when the people that held them showed up a few hours later. The food in Windjammer was surprisingly very good. Lots of selections. The main dining room was pretty average. There weren’t long lines for the waterslides or other activities. The sky pad was closed since someone was injured on it a few cruises prior. We aren’t drinkers but did get the soda package. Definitely cheaper to purchase prior to cruise. It would be nice if they had more soda machines throughout the boat. Can get soda at the bars but lines are usually long and better for Royal to sell alcohol at the bars anyways. Also purchased the Internet package prior to cruise. Not worth it in my opinion. Did not work well at all in most areas on the boat. Coco Cay is incredible even though it’s not entirely complete. The beach and water is purely amazing. The oasis pool was awesome too. Nassau is nothing spectacular. This time around we paid for a day pass to an all inclusive resort which let us have access to private beach and pool. Overall nice boat and good cruise! Read Less

We choose this cruise because our cruise friends booked it and we decided to go with them. in all we were 10 people. From start to finished it was a very good cruise, We arrived at the Port by 10.15 am and check in took all but 15 min ( I did provide a CC on line before getting to the Port so that saved time) We were on Board by 11;00 am very fast and organized boarding. We all had lunch at Savor (10 of us) and service was quick and friendly and the menu and food did not disappoint. By 1: 20 pm the Cabins were ready for us and we went to our Cabin Mini Suite 15798 to drop of our carry on and to get ready for Muster Drill at 2;30 pm . Muster Drill was well organized and went smooth ( it helps if guest would show up on time and listen to the instructions giving ) We sailed away a little after 3:00 pm and we got lucky with the weather for March ( NCL does not control the weather or the seas lol ) The service provided by our room Steward was great. we never had to ask for anything. He made sure we had everything that we needed on a daily basis. I can honestly say out of all the cruises we have been on this was the best, from the food to the drinks to the service to the Entertainment and having great friends on board everything was awesome. NCL should be proud of their crew and the service they provide to their guest, I would like to add that if you find that the crew was not overly friendly, you may want to check to see if you treated them with respect and in a friendly matter . sometimes the problem lies with us. This was our 3rd time sailing on the Norwegian Escape! We live in New York, so leaving from Manhattan is a breeze! The embarkment went quick and smoothly. Our cabin was located on the 12th floor. We usually take an ocean front facing cabin. Not only does it have a huge window seat, it has extra storage. We began our trip by going to the Meet & Greet. It was in the District Brew House...one of my favorite bars on the ship. The waiters came around with appetizers and samples of craft beer. The officers mingled with us as we were entertained by a singer. The Escape has phenomenal shows and many dining options.we love eating in the Manhattan Room because it has entertainment during dinner. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable as always! This time we traveled with 2 other couples. Although we hit some rough seas, that didn’t stop us from havilng a blast on the ship. In Port Canaveral, we went on an excursion to Daytona Racetrack. It was really interesting! Not too much walking. Most was on a tram. We really enjoyed Great Stirrup Caye. The weather was great..the food was delicious, and the DJ had a Ms. Norwegian contest. Considering the number of people there..there was ample seating. Our 3rd port was Nassau. We spent the day at Breezes on a day pass. We ate three of our dinners in specialty restaurants. ( Cagneys, Modernos and Bistro.) once again...great food and impeccable service! I can’t wait to sail on her again! Read Less
