Good but hard to get "free" activities

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

This was my second time on Royal and first with whole family. We were able to afford it because it was out of Bayonne, NJ so no airfare. Embarkation - great - this port was easy to get into - drove right up, dropped off bags, drove maybe 100 yards to secure parking deck that I think is only for those cruising. Was able to walk right to check in early than the planned time. Cabin - had a ...

Beautiful Ship & crew, but not superior cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Allure of the Seas

Choose cruise for the Giant Ship experience for the first time... and luckily we sailed with only 60% capacity. Beautiful ship with good design and lots of jacuzzis, plenty of lounges and good gym and sports resources. Biggest let down was food. Love the crew service in the Main Dining room but the Windjammer is average cafeteria food... seems like mostly leftovers and not enough variety. ...

Covid issues

Review of April cruise on Celebrity Apex We sailed with Celebrity on Apex on the 26th of March and had scheduled four weeks. We had done the covid test two days prior, and it was negative for both of us. We stayed at a Marriott Fairfield the day prior. We wore masks on the airplane, at the airport, during the Lyft ride to the Fairfield, checking into the Fairfield, and did the same when ...

Is it REALLY worth all the extra money

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Disney Magic

My family and I cruised on the Disney magic for Spring break. This was my 1st Disney cruise, and 8th or 9th cruise overall so I was comparing Disney to Carnival and Royal Caribbean. My kids were 11 and 13 when we first booked this trip, but due to covid, it was postponed for 2 years so they were teenagers on this cruise. We spent over $5000 for our family of 4 to go on a 5 day cruise. I had ...

We drove to Jacksonville for the pre cruise hotel and COVID testing and boarded the next day. Cabin was small on deck four and the bathroom had the smallest shower but our attendant was awesome. Due to stormy weather they canceled Canaveral but we saw a launch from sea. Amelia island was also canceled. There were not enough activities on board to keep us entertained. Very boring. Spent 2 ...

Ship is beautiful. Food was the worst of any cruise.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Holland America Rotterdam

I've been cruising for 4 decades. This was my first on Holland America. The ship is absolutely beautiful and the crew is excellent. My cabin steward remembered my name from the moment we met and always greeted me by name in the hallways. The ship itself is gorgeous. The music theme is evident throughout and there are many opportunities to hear live music. The show theater and performers were ...

Paid a lot and not getting what was promised

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

I love this cruise line. We come on this line to relax and enjoy our cabana for the week. We decided to take this trip because, due to the pandemic, we have been working very hard without a break. I made for an upgrade to a suite and bought the Club Orange package. Well, I am not getting what I paid for. First, even with my boarding pass stating priority boarding, since I am a 2 star Mariner ...

Many Missed Opportunities Make for a Very Flawed Cruise

I wanted to test the cruise waters post-covid cruising shutdown. The good: RC set up hand washing stations at the entrance to their Windjammer buffet with a staff person directing us to wash our hands in a fun manner; staff enforced the no touch procedures in the Windjammer buffet-offering to serve us immediately; there were many signs posted to urge social distancing; the venues were clean ...

Very poor entertainment and meals selection

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Holland America Rotterdam

Having taken over 42 cruises and gap of 2 years we took Rotterdam cruise for 14 days expecting Holland America cruise lines standards. But we were wrong. HAL has major cutdowns in guest services, entertainments and meals options and selections. Main dining room dishes are repeated . On a 14 day cruise it was the same food. No more souvenir glasses with shot drinks, no more lobster in main dinings. ...

First time on Holland America and Caribbean, SQ10005 Neptune Suite

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Nieuw Statendam

The ship is beautiful and service is very good. I give it only three out of five because of the challenges of sailing during the pandemic, and because we were disappointed in the suite. We booked a Neptune Suite because we wanted a larger balcony with chaise lounge chairs and table and chairs, but ended up with a SQ category with tiny balcony (the chairs provided didn't even fit on the balcony ...
