Just recently back from a 3-day on the Carnival Sensation. Embarkation/Debarkation: Super fast!! We are platinum and were on the ship by 11:20 on Day 1 and off the ship by 7:25 on the last day. Food: SUPER!! We ate in the dining room every night. Did the upsale items (surf and turf or filet mignon) on two of the three nights. Did not eat buffet. Sea Day Brunch was EXCELLENT. Room: had a Grand Suite with Extended Balcony. There was a table, three reclining chairs and two regular chairs (yes, FIVE chairs). There was plenty of room for all the chairs to be occupied had we been inclined to have a deck party right on our balcony. Service: Room Steward Meylin was one of the best ever. I tipped her extra. Dinner crew was also super good. Everyone was very friendly throughout the ship. Casino: OUTSTANDING!!! Vasu was a SUPERB pit boss. He took excellent care of us from day one! We enjoyed ALL the dealers and the crowd. Not too much smoke and plenty of free drinks! Nassau: Ok port. We have been here over 15 times so we know what to expect. We went to the Bearded Clam right off the ship. It was GREAT. Had some good food and cold beer and bought some Cuban cigars right next door. Ship: Super Clean and not too crowded. Crew was fantastic, especially the bar staff and the casino dealers/pit bosses. Overall: This is the BEST of the Fantasy class ships. Friendly crew, fast embarkation/debarkation, clean, excellent food. What more could you ask for in a weekend cruise? And they gave me a FREE CRUISE voucher!! I love Carnival! Read Less

Recently I boarded the grand celebration, Bahama paradise cruise line. From the moment we valet parked customer service was awful. The staff employed by this cruise line treated every customer as if they had taken the cruise line hundreds of times. This being my first cruise and a birthday gift from a friend, I was excited to celebrate on board the grand celebration. I now regret ever booking this trip. As we boarded the ship there were two women standing at the entrance. They did not say, "welcome aboard", "thank you for choosing grand celebration", "please let us show you to your cabin", nothing at all. A young lady walking down the hallway, said you can go and have lunch go to your cabin or not but, later at 5 p.m. there will be a meeting on deck 5. Not knowing which direction to go we begin to look for our cabin. Every staff member we passed did not even glance our way. They did not make us feel welcome, if anything we felt as if we were intruding in someone's personal space. Many of the announcements were made after we were finally in our cabin. By the way, the room was spacious, very clean, and exceeded my expectations. Our housekeeper John, was amazing. I wish that I could have the same positive words for the rest of the crew. At the very least there should have been a written program, explaining the day to day activities and when they are available. Our first dinner in the stellar prime restaurant was horrible. Our waiter, again, made us feel as if we were intruding on his dinner break. He did not explain the menu at all. For example; how we should order, if we could substitute or what was available. When I spoke with what I thought was the manager, he immediately spoke to the waiter who then proceeded to tell me the reason he could not speak very well to us was because he was having dental pain. It was not that I could not understand the waiter, it was that he did not speak at all when he first began to take our order. At one point the waiter even showed me his bridge in his mouth by sticking his finger in and pulling it down as I was eating, to demonstrate his dental issues. After dinner we decided to walk the ship and find a club or bar or show that was available. We found the club that played descent music but who's bartender scowled the entire time she was making cocktails. The DJ proceeded to change the genre of music he was playing to cater to a young group of passengers that began to dance very provocatively on the dance floor. As this occurred you could see the more mature patrons slowly leaving until the only people left were the people on the dance floor. I was so thoroughly disappointed by our first day we called it a night very early. The next day we decided to begin things on a positive note. At about 10 o'clock we decided to go and have breakfast. When we arrived at the ocean buffet breakfast was closing up. The staff was taking all of the breakfast away, and after asking someone we are told breakfast would be served at the grill outside. We went outside where there was powdered eggs, undercooked potatoes, two or three pastries and some sausage. There were no alternatives as far as turkey bacon, cereal (hot or cold) or even pancakes. Being that I do not eat beef or pork I had the powdered eggs, the undercooked potatoes and a pastry. They powdered eggs tasted disgusting, I can't stress enough how undercooked the potatoes were and the pastry was a plain roll with raisins in it. We then decided since we were in the Bahamas we would book an excursion. We asked one of the staff members where we needed to go to book an excursion and they said that all of the buses for the excursions had already left. We asked how could we get to the beach, we were told you can take a taxi. We asked where do we find a taxi, the staff member pointed in the direction of the door, leading to where don't know. We began to walk towards the door and we were stopped by a crew member who said I need your blue cards. She then shouted "Blue Cards Out". We gave our blue cards to a gentleman who swiped them and said to be back by 5:30. We began to walk out, off of the ship and in to another building. As we walked through the building there was what seemed to be a checkpoint. We waited to be instructed on what we should do, when I heard someone giggle. I looked in the direction of the giggle and it was a crew member. This crew member continued to giggle and asked myself and my friend why are you just standing there. I said, what do we do now. She said you go out that door and pointed in the direction of a door. We went out the door and there were several people standing outside waiting. A woman comes up yells out, taxi anyone for taxi. We raise our arms she tells us to walk towards her, we stand next to her and she says one minute we need more passengers before we can leave. After more people arrived to take the taxi we are walked to a van, where there were also two other passengers waiting to get on who were blind. They were told to step up, however the van was about a foot up from the ground. There was no step stool or foot plate for people to step up onto. As the blind woman and man tried to board the van, the blind man missed the foot up where he had to step and fell on his knee inside the van. He was then nudged up into the seat. I observed other passengers having the same difficulty getting into the van. The beach was lovely, however the taxi driver informed us that the Lucyana beach was too touristy and we should try the Junkanoo beach. This beach was beautiful, small, private, there were beach chairs to rent for a nominal $3, there was a restaurant and bar and flea market right on the beach. We were curious as to why the cruise line suggested the other beach and not the Junkanoo. After spending several hours at the beach we took a taxi back to the ship. We boarded and wanted to have lunch it was now 2:30 p.m. . And again lunch was cleaned up and we instead had to have pizza. I was so frustrated I decided to go back to the cabin and rest until dinner. We had upgraded to the Admiralty restaurant, which I am pleased to have dined at. Our waiters Adie and Jhon were wonderful. Our meal was excellent and we were extremely pleased. We went walking around the ship after dinner trying to find another place to hang out and have a cocktail or two. We found the dancing Martian, the dancing Martian was amazing and the music was great. The bartenders were friendly, happy, positive, and talkative. We went to sleep very pleased that our second evening was great. The next morning we were back to port at West Palm. There are announcements being made outside of our cabin, but we were unsure as to what was said. In a hope to not miss breakfast we left our cabin at 9:30 a.m. . We were able to catch breakfast, get back to our cabin, shower, pack and leave the ship. What I expected as we were leaving was the same treatment we received as we were boarding. Instead I was delighted and confused at how friendly the staff was as we were leaving. Almost as if they were happy we were leaving. We then had to stand in a slow moving line for over an hour in order to officially be home. My vehicle was valeted so I had to wait for it to be pulled around. Unfortunately my friend was delayed in getting through customs and out of the building so I had to park and wait for her. As I see her coming out of the building I drive up to retrieve her. A man who is directing traffic quickly comes over to my vehicle and says what are you doing you need to move. I said I am picking up my friend, she is right there but she can't see me, so I'm driving closer. He says what is your friends name so that you guys can get out of my way. He then proceeded to yell her name and tell her your ride is over here you need to hustle. And that was the end of our awful trip on the grand celebration. Read Less

I won this 3 day, 2 night cruise while on vacation in Las Vegas last year - so I can't complain too much because it was "free." First off, I should've known it was going to be outdated because the website barely functions. When we arrived at the Port of Palm Beach we were immediately shocked at how small the cruise ship was. We had never been on a cruise before but I watch Royal Caribbean ships sail by my office all the time and the difference in size was very noticeable. Once we got on the ship we noticed just how outdated everything was. All the décor looked like it was straight from the 60s. Exploring the ship also confirmed that it was extremely tiny. The pools were so tiny that I thought they were hot tubs at first. The only good thing was that the cruise was empty so it felt like we had the whole boat to ourselves. The cabins were ok. Completely bare and boring, but clean enough. Again everything just seemed very old, even the keys, which were plastic cards with holes in it. We had boarded early anticipating lines like the lady on the phone said, but there were no lines and we found ourselves very bored on the boat within a few hours. There is NOTHING to do on this ship besides drink, go to the casino and play corn hole. We bought the drink coupon package for $65 and I'm not sure if it was rip off or not. Absolutely everything is extra on the boat. For a "free" cruise we ended up paying almost $400 on extra fees - drinks, excursions, shows, gratuities, gas etc. It is literally impossible not to rack up charges on this boat. We did sign up for the snorkeling excursion and it was AWESOME! I highly recommend doing that if you are going on this cruise. We also decided to stay a few days in the Bahamas at the Grand Luyacan resort, which was nice. The downside was going back on the cruise ship. Although it was organized, no one could give you an answer if you wanted to stray from the plan. We wanted to spend the day at the beach in the Bahamas (like all the day trippers do!), but our bus back was scheduled at 11:00 a.m. When we asked to catch a later bus no one would give us a straight answer. It was terrible. The food was pretty good each day on the boat. Dinner was portioned correctly for a 5 course meal - even if you ate all 5 courses, you didn't feel like it was TOO much food. The buffet was very average. Nothing special there. We aren't big buffet people though. As mentioned before, the only thing to do on the boat was going to the casino or play corn hole. We got very good at playing corn hole. So good that my boyfriend actually won the corn hole competition that they had on the second day. We were super excited to get $50 on board credit! It was going to go right towards alcohol - until we read the fine print. The credit could not be used at the bar. What else would you use that money on?! We asked the front desk and they told us the spa and the gift shop. That was so disappointing. I'm not one to buy crap at a gift shop so we ended up going to the spa. I got a basic manicure and my boyfriend got a much needed haircut. Our experience at the spa was pretty good. Friendly staff and good service. Overall, it was an ok experience. We would certainly not pay to go on this cruise, but for a "free" trip we can't complain too much. My advise: pick a different cruise line if you want to have a relaxing, luxurious vacation - a little extra money upfront will probably save you a ton in the long run. Read Less

My neighbor was telling me about an inexpensive cruise opportunity and it was both our birthdays so I said let's go!! Separate from the cruise line, a time share company offered her this discounted cruise. The time share operators and the cruise line are totally seperate!!!! My advice after sitting through a 4hr scam...book directly through Grand Celebration Cruise Line. Don't fall for free or discounted cruises through other 3rd party operators. Grand Celebration cruise ship is an awesome value for what you get. 5 star customer service and food. The ship is average but for the price so much fun!! Great entertainment, activities and so clean. We had no lines for anything...if that is your complaint don't go during peak periods. Had such a great time...thanks to the staff and me having a realistic attitude!! Read Less

So as first timers my partner and I had a splendid experience on board! The staff was pleasant and understanding. The rooms were better than anticipated, bathrooms great size. The ship was older but in great condition and SUPER clean. I could eat off The floors! As for the food, you can never go hungry, even at 1a.m after The club or casino lol. There is also a couple of restaurants to choose from! Over all the cost was affordable for what my partner and got out of it! We didn't have any high standards or expectations and we just wanted a get away and this was exactly what we got with the Grand Celebration! I would definitely recommend this ship for families who wanna get away for cheap money for a high quality vacationing experience. And the captain didn't rock the boat at all, steady sailing to and from the Bahamas! Read Less

We sailed on Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Seas on October 26 -30 2015. Our cruise line of choice is NCL, but we heard such great things about RC and my friends has told me of how great a time they have when they sail RC, and how good the service is, so we decided to give them a try. My main concern was to value the service that RC provides their passengers. That being said, we eagerly awaited our cruise. The cruise was a very BIG disappointment! The ports of call were, Nassau Bahamas, Coco Cay Bahamas, and Key West Florida. Our family had four members ( two adults and two kids- kids 12 and 15). Wetraveled with another family who had one child (age 12) When we booked, there were no balcony rooms available, so no problem, we decided on an ocean view room. The first night we went back to our room, it was after 9 pm and the room had not been set up for the night. We called the courtesy desk and asked for our steward to come by our room. It was an hour later that someone (not our steward) came by the room, and by then, we were already prepared for bed after waiting so long. Thank goodness we had a general idea of how to set up or pull down the pull-man beds for the kids. The next day we did finally saw our cabin steward and we asked him to pull the beds together to have that King size bed. He told us that it could not be done, that he could not pull the beds together to form the King size bed because that particular room had to have the twins beds separate. We were not pleased about that, as we called RC and spoke to a representative (about a month out from the cruise date) we called to ask about information for the cruise, and she did confirm that the room we booked had the beds that could be pulled together to form the King size bed. On RC’s website the description of the room said that the cabin could sleep 4 and that two of the beds could be converted into a King sized bed, which was why we booked that room. So the website and the representative was giving out false information. Our cabin slept 4 people but the steward continued to only supply us with the amount of towels/washcloths/toiletries for 3 people. The shipped smelled like there were over-running toilets most of the time and the electrical outlets did not hold the plugs into the units. The plug kept falling out, to use my flat iron, I had to hold the plug in the socket. We understood that the ship was an older ship, that is not the problem. The problem was the quality of the hotel staff which was not good. My review is not all bad, two good things about the cruise was the dining staff, Pritam was the greatest and made our dining experience very good. Also we enjoyed the port of call at Coca Cay. No ship excursion for Nassau, we just hired someone to drive us around, and we enjoyed the beach at Coco Cay. We did have a ship excursion in Key West, it was the Aquarium/Conch train tour. We found that it was very interesting. We just expected better service from RC and did not get that, it looks like we will be heading back to NCL where the service is far better. I wanted to sail on one of RC’s larger ships like the Oasis class, but the service on their smaller ships was disappointing. If the service on the smaller ship was not as good as they advertise it to be, then I would not want to imagine the service on the larger ships with more people. It looks like we will not choose to sail RC again. Read Less

Ok. First let me say I have been on over 40 cruises, different lines including one other Royal Caribbean cruise about 6 years ago, so I feel I am a fairly good judge on short and longer cruises. This was a short 4 niter, and on these I do not expect there to be the same quality etc of longer cruises. However with that said I found the service in general to be far below that of other cruise lines offering the same type of cruise. Embarkation was 5 star, and I must give credit where credit is due. They did a marvelous job and that was very efficiently done I had an extended aft Junior Balcony. I really did enjoy that cabin. What I did not enjoy was the fact that the items that are supposed to be there were not. Robe. Coffee cups for the coffee maker. No glasses except the crummy ones in the bathroom. No wine glasses (hello, this is a Junior suite, should have glasses. Also the fact that there is a sign "Ice upon request". and NO BEACH towels in cabin. You have to sign them out. Seems so much was lacking/done for the convenience of the staff not passengers. When I finally met my steward, I pointed out the fact that I needed ice, which he did get, and the robe and wine glasses and coffee cups for the coffee maker. he said 'Oh, I will bring the robe and glasses TOMORROW MORNING!.. What?.. I told him, no I need 4 wine glasses today, having people over and we are drinking wine tonight not in the morning. He did comply, and I do not mean to say he was surly, he was very nice. About 6pm he knocks on door and wants to turn down the room. We had Your Time dining. Told him we would be in cabin til about 645-7ish. he said "He was 'getting off duty at 7!.. I told him, if it is a problem, just from now on put fresh towels and ice you don't have to make the bed, etc. He got the message and came in (or someone did) and made the bed etc while we were at dinner. never got the coffee cups.. Didn't bother asking again. Dinner in the MDR the first night was very very good. Ernestina was our server. She is wonderful!. Very efficient and you can see that she and most of the staff are overworked. Cutbacks are extreme, hence the lack of service. Just a note: I see RC stock had "record high profits" last quarter. Very nice. Easy to do when you cut back service, increase drink prices some 30-40 pct. Eventually this will bite them in the butt. Now, I ordered a bloody mary..no souvenire glass just a bloody Mary...and it was not very big. 12.55!..Outrageous.. so I decided to get the premium drink package. Guess that worked out for me, and I feel I probably got my money's worth.Hard to tell as the printout receipt only shows 0.00 not what the price would have been. But I tried to keep track on my own. The other service issues were Hardly anyone taking drink orders on decks or lounges!. I guess since with the outrageous drink prices, most people are getting the package. 18 pct tip is included so why bother waiting on people. Let em get up and go to the bar. That's how i saw it anyway Non existant servers in the Casino as well. I played Let It Ride for 2 hours. never heard anyone come over for drink orders. The Lido buffet was not very appetizing as well. I am not that picky. I opted for a burger and fries and hot dog. Sub par. Awful hot dogs. One step above vienna sausage. Pizza that just lays there. No 24 hr Pizza. Park cafe offered a very good breakfast Panini and sandwiches. Of course they ran out of bagels about 10am, even though it is open til 1030. Also ran out of regular coffee and you either had to wait a long time or walk to other end of deck to the Windjammer Drink service on the private island was poor as well. They didn't start opening the bars til after 11.. then one at a time causing big lines. Ate in the Steakhouse (chops) twice. SAVE YOUR MONEY!..service was outstanding. Food no better than the dining room.. Actually liked MDR better. Chops is 30 upcharge, and if you book online you must pay in Advance. Other cruise lines do not do that. But the REAL kicker is if you want lobster, etc it is an ADDITIONAL 20 plus dollars!. Carnival does not do that. They have lobster tail and surf n turf etc for 35 upcharge, better overall menu and desserts. Even the bread was lousy in the steakhouse. Very good in MDR The morning of Debarkation there is NO ROOM SERVICE, so it is a zoo at the windjammer. huge lines everywhere. Ran out of coffee as usual. I* grabbed a piece of cheese and a piece of cold cut and went back to cabin. Park's should be open that day as well, but no. So, the lack of choices and service tells me Carnival is a MUCH better bang for the buck. Better service, dining venues, deli, pizza , etc. Sorry RC, I know a 7 niter (I would hope) is a better quality cruise on your line. But I am not going to sail with you again. Read Less

We love Enchantment of the Seas and are sorry to see it move to the Miami port. One of our favorite parts of the ship is the Solarium - an indoor area of (mostly) glass that has a pool and two hot tubs and is just for adults. Be sure to check out the Park Cafe that is inside. They have some different food options that we enjoyed. The cruise director, Marc Walker, is switching to Majesty but we enjoyed the ship and him so much that we took another cruise on Enchantment in January 2016! We had two outside cabins on the 2nd deck. They were a nice size and it was good to have some light. In January, we had an indoor room across the hall. It was much smaller but still nice enough. Everything functioned well - no complaints. Because we were at the front of the ship, we did spend quite a bit of time walking but I'm not sure I would pay extra just to be in the middle of the ship. Dinner service was great and we thought they had better food than many of the ships we've been on. If you like beef, BE SURE to order the Sliced Beef Tenderloin at dinner. Love it!! Our wait staff were awesome. They even remembered us when we came back on the ship 3 months later. For a smaller ship, there are tons of activities. The Love & Marriage game is always funny. It's amazing the things couples will share! The other evening shows were always good although the "family-friendly" comedian that was on our January cruise wasn't really family-friendly. At Nassua, we went to Junkanoo Beach. It was free and we figured it was worth a try. Although the beach sand could be a little cleaner, the water was pristine. My son snorkeled and he saw more fish than at Coco Cay. We bought chairs and drinks from the bar at the entrance. The guys who helped us were awesome, very friendly, and helped us get a taxi ride back to the ship. Be sure to negotiate what you pay in the Bahamas. The driver wanted $16 but I only had $10 cash. He took it - good money for him since it was a 5 minute drive to the ship. Read Less
