This is our 6th time cruising, second time with Royal, first time with a big ship like Allure.
Embarkation was super easy. We were about an hour late than our scheduled check-in time, but no problem at all.
Disembarkation was also easy. We took our luggage ourselves.
The ship is big. Our cabin was near the front of the ship so every time we either took 5th floor (has all the shops) ...
We have been cruising for many years, and this was our 8th HAL cruise with our sons. We started cruising ten years ago with our children as 3rd and 4th passengers in a Neptune suite. They are now teenagers and are in their own inside cabin. Beware, when you make this switch, your children will lose their Neptune Suite benefits, even if you continue to book a Neptune Suite.
This was our first ...
We choose this ship because of the dates and length of this cruise. We have been on 23 cruises and this was the worst one we have ever been on. Our main complaints are the lack of service and lack of entertainment! There was just nothing to do! They had a large screen over the pool, but it was hardly ever used! What a waste! We enjoy being in the pool and watching movies! They even had a ...
Did our homework and considered several options for a "skipping Christmas Cruise" Chose this ship because of the ports -- particularly St Thomas as it gave us time to go to St John and visit family as well as the convenience to Ft Lauderdale.
Beautiful ship and lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. Would recommend the mini-suite over the balcony room because larger room and bathroom but ...
We chose Allure because of what it offered and it was wonderful! We had a Central Park Balcony cabin with adjoining balconies and loved sitting out there and listening to music and park sounds. Everyone recommended booking the Aqua Show early in the cruise and they were right. We were booked for the 2nd night and finally saw it on the 5th night after multiple cancellations due to weather. ...
We were looking for a one week cruise over Christmas. This cruise was the correct time and we had cruised on Princess several times before. We flew to Fort Lauderdale the night before our departure and stayed at a hotel near the airport and cruise terminal. We also knew another couple that would be on this cruise so that was an added bonus.
The hotel had a shuttle to the ship so it was an ...
I am no expert cruiser, but wanted to share our experience for those seeking a December experience on this REALLY big ship!
Pros:
*Holiday ease w/lots of options for the entire extended family.
*Informed captain that made expert decisions to avoid storms and find sunnier ports.
*Ship design that allows for folks to getaway from the crowds.
*Great Teen club that my two teenagers said ...
This experience was very disappointing for myself and my family. It was immediately and consistently apparent that this ship was being utilized to train inexperienced staff, many of whom seemed to have zero previous experience working in customer service. To start off this vacation which I had spent several months meticulously planning for my family, all of the selections we made in terms of ...
This was a holiday cruise with my family (all adults).
Embarkation: Sailing out of Port Canaveral it was fairly busy with other ships loading/unloading that day but getting through the check in and on board was a swift and painless process.
Dining/Food: The specialty restaurants were delicious. I've been on a few NCL cruises but this was the first time I went to a Cagney's (which we did for ...
Im embarrassed to even tell people that I went on this ship. I had no clue a cruise ship could be this bad! It was truly the worst money we have ever spent on anything.
To start off the ship smelled horrible, the only escape was in the buffet area and my stateroom (deck 14), other than that the odor followed us everywhere. I called Carnival and they told me the don't guarantee public areas ...
