How Times Have Changed

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Holland America Rotterdam

We last sailed with HAL from 1993 to 2004. Since then it's been mainly Cunard's Queen Mary 2 and a couple of other lines of no particular import. The Rotterdam itself is a beautiful vessel. The decor is mid-century modern, and also has a significant musical theme, too. I have an interest in MCM, so photographing the interior of this ship was very enjoyable. Our cabin was much smaller than ...

First cruise on HAL Eurodam mostly enjoyable

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Eurodam

We decided to try two things we have not yet done before, and that is a Panama itinerary and sail on Holland America. We are in our late 60's and have cruised on Carnival, RCCL, Celebrity & NCL. We have heard HAL caters to the more senior cruisers (like us). That is evident in their not including a lot of the activities such as water slides, rock climbing, laser tag, etc. I think most people ...

Five Itinerary on a Three Star Ship

Review for a South America Cruise on Volendam

I have purposely allowed some time to pass before writing this review. THE SHIP AND STAFF The review really concerns an apparently struggling cruise line, an aged ship, and a wonderful itinerary. The captain jokingly said it best when after it was mentioned the ship was 23 years old, a passenger asked him what was the effective service age of such a ship. He replied 22 years. The ship ...

My family ( me-45, husband-49, stepdaughter- 15, stepson-13) traveled on the Norwegian Escape for a sun-seeking winter holiday. We have cruised before- RC/Princess/Holland America, but this was our first experience on Norwegian. We booked two interior staterooms with a connecting door. Embarkation- Although we arrived in Florida a week prior to our cruise, we wanted to utilize the bus transfers ...

A much needed Getaway!

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

The Good This was my first solo cruise as a fairly recent widow. The cruise met almost all my expectations with amazing New Year’s Eve revelry, thermal spa experience, and most importantly the Solo Cruise Coordinator, Lucas. It was wonderful to meet daily with other solo’s to plan activities and meals. Lucas did a marvelous job making our dinner and show reservations, providing fun daily ...

After our cruise pause, we decided to take a b/2/b on the celebrity apex. 12/30/22 and 1/7/23. When you enter terminal 25 in fort lauderdale the excitement begins. We were in a suite and arrived at the terminal about 10:45 am. We dropped off our luggage from our uber then proceeded to the suite entrance- took just a few minutes go through security then directed up the escalator to the suite ...

"The lift is going up!"

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Prima

My wife and I are at the platinum level for the NCL latitudes program and we enjoy the Norwegian brand. We chose the Prima after rebooking from a Baltic cruise that also stopped in Russia. (enough said there) The common joke of all our fellow passengers was the elevator message in the Queen's language and accent being the lift is going up or the lift is going down. (you just read that in a ...

Fun Cruise, poor communication

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

This was our 4th cruise and first with MSC. I have read a lot of the reviews of MSC including some of the nasty, horror story ones and have to admit I had one of those “what have I done” moments shortly after booking. Here is a simple summary of my experience. - I booked through a travel agent so they did the initial booking for 2 state rooms which was smooth. - I quickly learned that the ...

Enchanted New Year’s cruise with Enchanted Princess

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Enchanted Princess

I choose this cruise because it was a new ship and I would like to celebrate 2023 at sea. This ship was awesome, welcoming and well decorated. Enchanted Princess had a little something for everybody. With Princess Medallion it was a breeze to go in and out of the ship. I had a mini suite on Baha cabin 414. The balcony was a nice size a bit bigger on one side. The mini suite was very big we ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Scarlet Lady

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 40s

We’ve been on this cruise before, last year it was quieter due to covid, so once on board things ran a little smoother as there was probably a higher guest to staff ratio. This year, room service food was generally cold by the time you received it and if you go to the galley, you have to sit and order which can take a little while rather than just going to collect yourself. However the main ...
