I’m going to start at top and go down the categories, ending with final comments. This is only my second cruise. Cabin- Clean but super small. Our steward Nosil was amazing! He was super appreciative of his bonus tips and that was sweet. Dining- We loved Cagneys (Ribeye and surf n Turf) servers were amazing. moderno-mwe weren’t huge fans but staff was wonderful just to much spice (savory not heat)for our taste. Bayamo- (surf n Turf and seared scallops on pork Belly) everything and everyone was amazing. The main dining room- the best host and seater ever, so much personality. Servers seemed to just going through motions at all the main dining rooms. I can’t tell you how many times we were told by different F&B staff that they’ve been on for 8 months. NCL should truly shorten the length of their contracts. These people are sooooo burnt out. Food was great every lunch and dinner we ate all restaurants including sushi night at buffet. Embarkation- long nclstaff very helpful but port authority very grumpy people in general. Baggage handlers were super helpful also. Activities- Game shows fun! Bingo some drunk family dragged the last session out. The dance parties were a blast! Met a lot of great people. Cruise director, Alvin and his staff were amazing. Entertainment- Russ was amazing (acoustic) wasn’t able to catch any shows as they were all reserved up. Public restrooms- A lot better than my last cruise. Service- Steward- Amazing Bar staff- understaffed and grumpy a lot and we tipped on every drink so I could only imagine what vibe non extra tippers get. Servers- wonderful in specialty restaurants, lacking energy and personality in complimentary in general. There were a few rockstars like the host at taste and Maine dining room. Shore Excursions- We did everything through locals as NCLs are over priced. Value for money- They charge way to much for mini bar items. Slot machines tight. Starbucks prices great. Food items prices great. UBP wonderful perk Specialty perk amazing bonus also. Tendering- One of the worst experiences in my life and I’m not being dramatic. Debrking- Walked off was fast. The Sice H20 for adults only until 6 was wonderful. Photographers only had two pictures from us for all week and they took a more. Some cruisers had dozens. That was disappointing. I definitely will cruise with NCL again. Read Less

Only our second time on NCL but absolutely loved, loved this cruise!! We did a 7 day cruise out of NY to the Bahamas Both embarkation and disembarkation were handled quickly, efficiently and without stress. Our accessible stateroom was spacious, very clean and our stateroom attendant was just fabulous. The food throughout the ship, from the Café, the main dining rooms, to the specialty restaurants was all excellent. I was a bit surprised, though, that in the specialty restaurants so service was not as good as in the main dining rooms. Great selection of food throughout the 29 venues for dining. Loved the onboard entertainment, especially "Choir of Men", which we saw twice, and "Howl at the Moon", the latter which are dueling pianos and an all request show. The staff on board were professional and helpful. We did only one excursion as a couple, which was in the Port Canaveral and included the Orlando Eye, Sea Life and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. This excursion included a one hour drive each way and 4 hours on sight. We felt that the 4 hours on site was too much and suggested that the excursion be reduced by at least 1 hour, as the venues don't take that long to go through. I also did "Swimming with the Pigs" in the cruise lines private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay. Though I enjoyed this excursion, it was less swimming around and more feeding the pigs. But, a good time anyway. I wish there had been more accessible tours available, especially in Nassau, as we did not book any tour there and just did things on our own. Loved the fact also that there were many large accessible restrooms placed in public areas throughout the ship, as my husband is in a wheelchair and there were quite handy. I am planning our next cruise and highly recommend NCL and this ship. Read Less

We just returned from a 7-day cruise. This was cruise #6 with Norwegian and we have never had a complaint - before this. Our cabin steward was pleasant enough when he saw us but seemed to really not care. We got our comp sparkling wine the 2nd night. We asked for ice one afternoon and never got it. He rarely changed our dirty glasses. We have always sailed on ships that have smoking areas that are either enclosed or out of the way. On this ship, one must cross through smoking areas to get to other areas of the ship. Sadly, while we love piano bars, we had to give this one a miss as it was in a smoking area. Further, the casino (a smoking area) is mid-ship and the smoke rises to other areas on other floors. We found the hostesses at the comp restaurants cold and officious - something we'd never experienced on a Norwegian ship before. And, as others have mentioned, service in the restaurants was brutally slow. We did enjoy the shows that we went to - they were top-notch. And, as before, we really have no complaints about the food - although they could really add more veggies to the dishes in the sit-down restaurants. Had this been our first Norwegian cruise, we would never return. We will certainly never book on the Escape again. Read Less

Embarkation and disembarkation were organized and fast. There were so many check points at embarkation but it was fast considering the amount of people boarding. The ship was not the new mega ships but I knew that coming in. The cabin was always clean and the bed was very comfortable. I love the interior cabin with the obstructed window. It was an affortable price and I could still see the ocean. The food at the main dining was great from breakfast to dinner. At the buffet, chopstix had good food during lunch but they did not change their menu often. The buffet was lacking options during dinner (pizza, deli, salad stations) so I just stuck to the main dining. There were so many entertainments and activities I always had something to do from shopping, bingo, comedy club, performances and lip sync battle. The staff were so friendly and worked extremely hard. My cabin steward and dining room waitress always smiled and asked about my day. Princess Cays was a private island so the chairs and food were included. The water was peaceful but there were some rocks in the ocean. After you pass the rocks, you are ok. I have been to Nassau before so instead of the island tour, I spent a day at aquaventure in Atlantis. The streets and straw markets near the Nassau port were busy with people and fun. Freeport was ok. The port had straw markets and shipping cargo. I took a taxi to Port Lucaya which had more straw markets. I did find the public beach across there and it was calm and beautiful. Not many people were there. Read Less

Disclosures: - Traveled with wife, both in our 30s; no kids or family on the trip - Both vegetarian, with extremely minimal alcohol intake Pros: - Excellent staff and service. As with our prior Norwegian experience, the staff go out of their way whenever possible to accommodate your needs - Sports/water complex is an unexpected treat on the open ocean. Ropes course is death defying fun (I am intensely acrophobic). And water slide usage was limited only by my tolerance for climbing the tower over and over again. Water is gently warmed in all pools, making it very comfortable in 60-70 degree weather. - The gym is excellent, and an extremely small proportion of cruisers actually use it. Felt like an enormous private gym for the most part. - Oceanview balconies have beautiful views, and are built such that one can't accidentally peek into someone else's balcony space. Cons: - 1:4 staffing levels become noticeable during busiest dinner dining hours (6PM-8PM) - Due to the time of year, cold weather At Sea days made the ship feel quite crowded - Elevators are slow during the At Sea days and embarkation/disembarkation process. Not a problem for us, as the stairs were always accessible, but I could imagine issues Tips: - Pick a dining room/time (I would recommend the Manhattan Club for the rear views) early in the cruise and establish yourself with a server. The staff are extremely service oriented and can pamper you in unexpected ways if they know what you like. - Pick a port day and stay on the ship for at least some portion. Using the sports complex (minigolf, bocce, waterslides, and rope course) without a line is worth it if planned into your itinerary - Reserve all the shows you'd like on the first night. But just show up if you feel like going to any of the free shows. All of our shows had plenty of open seats for latecomers or standby's - Get a balcony room. On a trip with 3.5 at sea days in cold weather, you'll relish some quiet time with a beautiful view - For those same cold weather days, ensure you pack some additional warm clothes. Summary: - Good ship. Great service. Would book again, but only in warm weather. Norwegian again finds that amazing sweet spot on price and service. Read Less

Went on this cruise with my husband and parents. They were celebrating their 61st anniversary from earlier in the month and I was celebrating my birthday in early March. As we've cruised several times together this one was right up there... The ship is great with lots of space to spread out in (with 4000 guests you need to get away from the crowds!) Room was very comfortable and in a great location near the aft elevators. Ports: really could do away with Port Canaveral, not a lot to do unless you are doing a Disney excursion. And weather at this time of year can be cool. Great Stirrup Cay was beautiful and we really enjoyed the Eco Boat tour. Nice to break up the island time and learn something new about the area. Our favorite was Blue Lagoon. I had my reservations about it but it turned out great! Not crowded, beautiful location, enough to do and being able to walk around the dolphin encounter as much as we could was an unexpected bonus. Didn't even mind the few showers we experienced. Food: had amazing meals and service every where we went. La Bistro was our favorite! The few pounds I gained were worth it. Spa: we treated ourselves to the thermal spa and it was the best thing! We utilized the steam room, saunas, etc every day. And the gym was never crowded when we worked out. Entertainment: really enjoyed Choir of Men, After Midnight and Greg Gleason. Highly recommend all. Overall it was a great time. My dad had to rent a wheelchair and people could not have been nicer...helping out, moving seats etc. The restaurant staff were extremely accommodating. I am not a fan of how loud everything is...putting the guest services area right near the atrium with all the events there is not smart. Have to shout to be heard! Love the freedom of NCL and the staff and crew are always friendly, helpful and easy to deal with. Would recommend this trip and we bought credits to travel on NCL again! Read Less

Had so much food, fancy and casual and was available at any hour. . The shows on board were great, games all the time, friendly staff, rope courses, pool, hot tubs, water slides and up beat people everywhere. Our favorite show was the Chior of Men. The director Alvin was halarious and Issac from the entertainment team was great. We also enjoyed the Deal or no deal game and Bingo. We had a couple rainy days but there was still so much to do it didn't matter. This was my families first vacation and cruise it was perfect for us. We surprised our kids on Christmas with this trip. Even though they had to wait a couple months to go it was well worth the wait. Read Less

My family and I had a great cruise on the Carnival Pride from 2/24-3/3. I felt that the overall experience was very good, from the dining room food to the service of the staff as well as the entertainment provided each night. It was a memorable vacation and I will definitely use Carnival to cruise in the future. What I really liked: The ship itself is nice. It is older but looks good for its age. There is variety in the activities they offer and lots of opportunities to shop and have a good time. Dining room food variety from breakfast to dinner was very good. I really didn't eat lunch. The waiters and staff service in the bars and all over from everyone I was in contact with was great. All very friendly and accomodating. Entertainment was good to excellent. Shows in the Taj Mahal theater were good quality. My son enjoyed Hasbro the Game Show, I liked the 80's show. Cheesy, sure, but in a good way. My husband and I LOVED the band, IN THE GROOVE, in the Red Frog Pub. They were amazing and a highlight of the trip. Make sure you check them out. What was ok: Our stateroom was pretty crowded for 4 people. I would definitely book 2 rooms next time. The trip itinarary was ok. I have been to Nassau a few times, just ok. Not much to do but shop and eat. I like Atlantis but most of it is not accessible to people who are not guests or are not willing to pay ALOT to do stuff there. Freeport is a wasted port IMO ,not much to do there but shop or drink. You need some sort of shore excursion here or else why bother getting off the ship here. Princess Cay is beautiful, a must see. Very well kept and very picturesque. My daughter went snorkeling on her own and she loved it,saw lots of fish. What bothered me: The casino is very smoky. I could not spend that much time there as it is overwhelming. Not sure how to change this but make it non-smoking. WIFI signal is not good. Alot of interrupted service or none at all. We paid for the social media plan and it was not a good value for the money. No tv variety in the stateroom. It is pretty bad, just a few options according to my kids. I did not watch tv. The kids activities for ages 11-15 are not great, almost nonexistent. My kids were disappointed in this, although my son enjoyed the newly renovated arcade. All in all, I would cruise the Pride again if only for the convenience of being able to go out of Baltimore. I will probably choose another ship for a new itinarary but if you haven't done the Bahamas cruise yet the Pride is a great choice. Read Less

First, I was pleasantly surprised how easy the embarkment process went. We paid for the Faster to Fun and I did feel things went fast. our room was ready as soon as we got on board and our room was clean and fairly spacious. We ate in the dining room the first night. The wait seemed longer than necessary to get our food and the food was gross. We didn't eat it. We ate at the buffet/ fast food restaurants from then on. Breakfast options were also gross. the buffet was usually gross. The burger place, deli, pizza place and burrito place were the only places we would eat. The "ice cream" was that fake stuff too. Such a disappointment. Turns out, unless you want to get drunk or BLOW through money there is NOTHING to do on the ship during the day. So our "day at sea" was boring. We pretty much just read our books and played cards. The comedy shows at night were pretty funny and we enjoyed the show "Flick". Why all the good stuff was at the same time in the evening is beyond me but there you go. Our first stop was at Nassau. Disembarkment was smooth. and our activity was fun. We did the Dolphin VIP day. our "tour guide" wasted an hour and a half on a tour we DID NOT WANT which cut into our beach and snorkeling time. That was pretty disappointing. Meeting the dolphin was pretty amazing though and we did get to snorkel for a very little bit and saw some cool fish. I'd recommend this activity - just ditch the tour. Our second day was at Freeport. Why in the world they stop here I will never understand. What a waste of a day!! For starters, we did the jet ski tour. This WAS NOT A TOUR. This was a race at dangerous speeds and most of the people in our party ended up in the water which led to long periods of waiting for them to be able to go again until the next person fell off. I DO NOT recommend this tour. We were dropped off at a beach to get lunch and swim. The food was disgusting and cold. The beach was crowded. we could not wait to get on the bus and get back to the ship. Such a disappointment and a waste of money. I will say that ALL the staff was friendly and helpful. Our housekeeping staff took excellent care of us, tables were kept clean in the eating areas so points to them! Disembarkment back at port was relatively painless and well organized so I give them props for that as well. The boredom and the food killed it for us though. I doubt we will do another cruise. This is my 7th Carnival cruise and the last 2 I went on I swore not to give them another shot but I did one more time and this is the last time! The food was worse then Golden Corral, the only good meal was the steak house that I paid an extra $38 per person for but I will say it was great! The ship is decent older now and needs freshend up but over all in good shape, I won’t complain about the ship. The cabin Steward was awful never changed the sheets once and I know because I spilled a tiny bit of coffee on the top sheet and instead of him changing the sheets he took the top sheet off and used it as the bottom sheet and the bottom sheet as the top sheet! Also never vaccumed the cabin once that I could notice. Dining room service was pretty slow and took forever to receive the drinks. Also the room service food menu is sorry and went over the scheduled time for delivery. I am not a picky person but for a few hundred dollars more I will spend it to receive better quality food and service on another cruise line. Read Less
