I would have rated the cruise and Oceana as a 5 if it wasn't for the cheap flight arranged with the olife option. 2 stops each way totally unacceptable. Rest of cruise wad fabulous with incredible food and excellant shows. Around the World with the singers and dancers might have been one of the best shows we have seen. Not being continually hounded to buy photos -priceless.
Embarkation was a ...
I picked this ship because the price was excellent, the ship looked amazing and the entertainment was a little different. It definitely was not a disappointment. I won't sugar coat it. There is room for some improvement but I feel this line is well on its way to becoming a popular choice for American and Canadian cruisers as much as it already is to other worldwide travelers. The entertainment on ...
We chose this cruise mainly due to date of travel and destinations.
We enjoyed the ship for the most part. Did not like the bars as much or some of the entertainments which were held at the atrium and bar locations. Reason for this is everything was exposed to the smoke coming from the casino area. There were no, smoke-free bars available it seems. There was no dedicated dance club that we ...
This was my second cruise in the Haven on the Epic. Overall, it was a great cruise and loved being in the Haven once again.
Embarkation in Port Canaveral:
We arrived at 11am to check in and found the experience to be absolutely chaotic. Last time I checked in for the Epic, it was in Ft. Lauderdale, where it was a wonderful experience. In Port Canaveral, I walked though large crowds to ...
Make no mistake, I had a great time with my 2nd sailing on MSC and the Divina, but that is because I am not a miserable person, but I met PLENTY of miserable passengers and they were all my countrymen, sigh. AMy favorite part was my triple balcony (keep the booking prices exactly the same!), the drinks and the colorful shows (Treasure Island, Witches In Paris and Michael Jackson).
Honest to ...
LIKES:
The buffet, despite it's design flaws, served very good food. It was a pain to find what you were looking for as it was designed with one of those never-ending hallways that reminded me of the NCL Breakaway, so when it got crowded it was annoying to get around. However the food was top notch and they provided a good variety of cheeses at the buffet (which wasn't even offered on my ...
We are a married couple, late 50’s and early 60’s. We have been on 17 cruises in the last 14 years. We were on this ship last year and loved it. This time we noticed the service was OK, at best.
Our room steward was not very good. Dirty towels left on floor, trash not emptied, and our room wasn’t serviced before 2:00 PM. On the third day I finally saw her and asked if our room could be made up ...
This was our first cruise with Holland America. We had cabin 5089, our first time with a balcony. The cabin was nice, lots of storage and plenty of room to hang clothes. We were located midship, so it was very convenient getting around. The ship was done in mostly earth tones, nothing garish. We liked the size of the ship, very easy to manage, and no huge crowds.
We arrived at the port at ...
This was our 13th cruise and thankfully proved to be not that unlucky.
We had sailed on the sister ship, Marina, on a transatlantic the previous year so knew what to expect regarding the layout of the ship and the facilities. Like last time we booked a concierge stateroom, this time on deck 9, which came with a few added extras.
We flew from Glasgow via Heathrow to Miami with BA on the ...
Smoking in the casino was terrible. It permiated the common areas. My throat started burning as I went to make reservations for my dining on the sixth floor in the headliners club. The muster station was in the sky line lounge was also smokey.
The entertainment was great. Wonderful shows. Too bad I could not enjoy them all, some areas were just to saturated with smoke. I was choking. I think ...
