My husband and I decided to try a cruise for our 25th anniversary. We had no knowledge of different cruise lines, or age of ships, etc and assumed all cruise lines were basically the same. We chose this particular cruise because of the port of calls; Bimini and Nassau, both of which we wanted to see. On arrival to Tampa, and approaching the cruise terminal, we could see our ship, along with other ...
We cruise often and this was our first Virgin Voyage. What an exciting experience, there was so much to do and see. The pool party at Bimini was one of the best we've attended. Most of the food outlets were a wonderful experience. We did have a less than exceptional experience at Razzle Dazzle for our group dinner. Our service was slow, food was cold, orders were not complete and some of our party ...
We're in the tri-state area so we thought an extended change of scenery without having to fly before summer ended would be nice. Deck 11 balcony near the middle. Boarding was fine, sailing away for a couple of days was good, Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center is a must-see (really makes you feel proud to be an American) but it is cheaper and more flexible to just Uber it back-and-fourth ...
We’ve travel on NCL but I don’t remember it being this limiting. There is one outside area to smoke with maybe 20 chairs and a few umbrellas. On the top deck. Super inconvenient to get to. Cigar lounge is only for cigars and casino is only if you’re playing.
We arrived in NYC at 6:30am with a NCL transfer from JFK. They neglected to tell us the shuttle didn’t come until 10am so we had to sit ...
We chose this cruise because the size of the ship (thinking smooth sailing), but larger wasn’t smooth at all. This thing rocks, bangs and shutters worse than a dingy. I read that the solarium design has challenges for ship stability. Icon is being built with the same design. After having a wonderful time on the liberty, I was worried I pissed off the cruise gods on this boat. First, we couldn’t go ...
We had to use a Carnival credit before it expired in September, so we chose a 5 day cruise to Key West and Cozumel. Guy’s hamburger joint was great (first restaurant we ate at), the Steak House was also very good but it is an option over that standard charges. However, I must inform you that the BBQ buffet was horrible and the regular buffet was just ok. Salad, fruits and veggies were fresh. Other ...
Our stateroom attendant wayman was awesome and a pleasure to speak to everyday. our 3 waiters in the main restaurant were fantastic as well. went and had massage on the first night down at the spa and it was amazing. they did an amazing job. just very pushy on trying to sell their products in the end. no complaints, they are just doing their job. quality of food in the dining room and ...
This was my first cruise since about age 19 and my partner's first cruise ever, we wanted to give cruising a try so we opted for something inexpensive leaving from a port within driving distance. We knew that this was not the fanciest or newest ship, so we had measured expectations. With that considered, we're laid-back people who didn't let the little issues bother us, so we had a good time and ...
First I need to let you this was our second Margaritaville trip in the past 9 months. On our first cruise I had no complaints of noise. This second trip was so loud. Engine noise is one thing…. This was loud banging. Metal on metal before 7 am. We could not hear people in other rooms. It was “work” related noise. They even vacuumed the hallway at 7 am?!?
Our room was kind of wonky, ...
I had a lot of fun overall on the cruise and enjoyed the Rainforest room, spa services, character experiences, and entertainment. My room was very clean and the service was great with the exception of special dietary needs. I am vegetarian and gluten-free (celiac). While the appetizer salads were fantastic, I could not get them to actually serve me a full-sized salad or vegetable meal. I ...
