We take NCL cruises out of NY for the convenience of not flying to the port. Escape felt bigger and even more crowded than Breakaway of the previous year. The ship looked very clean, and the crew, I think, did their very best. Embarkation and disembarkation- surprisingly organized and relatively quick.

We try to cruise at least twice a year. We heard about this new cruise ship coming into New York, so we decided to try it out. We got upgraded from an ocean view to a balcony. Obviously weather was cold in Nov-Dec. But once you get to the Caribbean it was beautiful.
Because of weather we couldn't stop at Stirrups Cay so I have no review of that.

I chose Liberty for the decor and it didnt disappoint. It's of garden type theme with Spanish style of iron railing and lights. Not over the top and gaudy like some carnival ships but also has a wow factor. We did 4 night Bahamas cruise to princess cay and Freeport.

1st cruise with Princess and we had a hard time picking priorities! You can pick from numerous things to do to nothing but listening or reading books! Embarkation was fast and easy with about 45 min until on the ship. Our room was immaculate and we requested top sheets which were provided in timely manner. Here are my comments on my cruise:
1. The food was excellent at the Garden Cafe. The best specialty restaurant was the Cagneys. The Manhattan room was a very pleasant experience. However, we went to the Taste restaurant on December 3 for dinner and we were very disappointed because the service was very slow.

This was a birthday cruise for me, so I chose a forward facing Mini Suite. The cabin steward was fantastic especially since I had my slightly slobbish 5 year old with me. 1. The most impressive improvements were embarkation and debarkation. Not doubt RC has done a great job with Terminal A at Miami cruise port and the new procedure. Getting on board worked like a breeze. Also impressive reentry to the US just with facial recognition!
