Carnival ain't what it used to be

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Dream

We used to love cruising with Carnival. I don't know if it was just this ship, but Carnival has cut way back on the things we used to love the most about cruising. The shows aren't even worth watching. I used to love the Las Vegas style shows. There weren't any dancers! They were the best part of the entertainment. There's just so much that's not the same. There aren't any more cloth ...

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Breakaway

We had only done one cruise previously on a different cruise line. I booked this one for my wife, myself and two kids (21yo special needs son and 15yo daughter). I chose this specific cruise because we could cruise out of NYC and avoid paying for flights to FL. In hindsight, given the weather (which obviously isn't NCL's fault) I made a bad decision; I could've paid the price to fly to FL, ...

We had fun, but....

We choose Norwegian primarily for the Kids Sail Free and the Unlimited Beverage Package deal but we did also talk with friends who have previously sailed. Overall, we had a nice time. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. We found the ship to be very clean, hygiene at dining was encouraged and appreciated, there was a good variety of entertainment and the games were fun. There were a ...

If not for the cruise director, we would not return to Carnival

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Pride

We had a w/c accessible cabin (6182) for my mom who is in a w/c, myself and a friend. First for the god- Embarkation and disembarkation was easier than anything ever experienced on any other cruise ship/line. The crew was great/very very attentive to needs and went above and beyond, especially to help with my mom and make her feel included (she is 84). The cruise director, Leigh, was phenomenal. ...

Cruise was relaxing/peaceful with some major dissapointments

I chose this cruise as I wanted to embark close to my home and not deal with the hassle of an airport. It was a wonderful and easy process to embark on the cruise. Process was quick. The ship itself was beautiful and clean. My room with a balcony was well worth the extra money. Sleeping with the door open and listening to the waves is a calming experience i will never forget. I was extremely ...

This was my second time on the dream. Almost everything was great . We enjoyed the food, if you can’t find something you like then your too particular. Shows at night we’re good and games during the day were great. Room was nice and always clean. The only reason I gave 3 stars is because the lido deck, where many people hang out by the pool. There was not enough entertainment . They played a ...

Carnival - Cutting Costs?

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Carnival Elation

Wanting to go to Bermuda from Florida, the only ship available was the Carnival Elation from Jacksonville, an eight day cruise beginning April 7th. My husband and I have sailed on Carnival before, the last time being in the winter of 2015. Although we do not frequent the clubs or the casino, we have always enjoyed the comfort of the cabins, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, the ...

I have always cruised with Norwegian and have never had any major issues. This time there was a lot of unfortunate incidents. I think I will stick with the smaller ships like the Jewel and Pearl. There is just too many people on these big ships to be able to enjoy yourself. If you do not reserve the specialty dining long before the cruise, you will not bet a reservation. You also have to reserve ...

Compared to other ships, not up to par

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

Overall, I had an amazing time so don't get me wrong when I say it wasn't the best. I have only been on four cruisers so my opinion may not hold much weight but I have found myself agreeing with others on the same aspects that have cruised much, much more. Three of my four cruises have been with NCL and I absolutely love them! The Dawn is a smaller ship, absolutely beautiful, had the best staff ...

Beautiful ship and staff

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Escape

To attend a wedding. I rated some categories low, mostly because of constant loud music, smokey atmosphere on a non-smoking ship, and many rude foul-mouthed passengers. Children behaved better than many of the adults. Our cabin steward, Alex, was terrific keeping our room pristine. Food in the specialty restaurants was wonderful and the dueling pianos were fun. Service was attentive but ...
