I recently completed a Mariner of the Seas cruise two weeks ago. This was my second time on Mariner and I loved it just as much as I did the first time. The ship is well maintained. Very clean with lots of up to date amenities and offerings on the ship. While the ship was sailing at Capacity nothing ever felt packed. No issues finding lounge chairs to use on sea day. The food in the main dining room was perfect. Everything always came out hot and fresh and the one time when I wanted a little more they had no problem bringing me an extra plate. I loved the different entertainment each night with the variety acts. All three we had on this 4 night sailing were excellent. They all left me wanting more they were so good. The Royal Caribbean Singers and dancers did a great job in their productions as well. The Ice Skating Show “Ice under the big top” was the huge hit. Amazes me that this is even on a cruise ship. The show was incredible with amazing talent. Definitely arrive early to get a good seat. 30 mins before show time and it was almost at capacity. Both shows were full All the different things you can do on this ship with no up charge fee is great. I kept very busy over the 4 nights I was on the ship and none of these activities came with upcharges like some other cruise lines do. The Lazer tag, sky pad, water slides, flowrider and more. Everything included and all so much fun. A few things cost extra like the Escape room and specialty dining but the majority of the cruise is all included in your cruise fare. I can not recommend Mariner enough. Especially after its recent Amplification (aka Dry Dock) the updates were plentiful and really keep this 17 year old ship in her prime. Some of my favorite highlights is being able to go to the bow of the ship on the Helicopter deck. Great spot for when you are coming in or out of port. I also loved peek a boo bridge where you can go up this viewing platform to look down on the ships bridge and see how they are operating the ship. Very exciting to watch and see what is done. Finally the ease of embarkation and disembarkation. Royal Caribbean has this so easy and smooth at Port Canaveral its incredible. No wait to board the ship when I arrived at 11am and to get off the ship another easy flawless experience. From stateroom to car it was no more then 15 mins. All in all a great time and Royal Caribbean exceeded all expectations hands down. What an amazing cruise Read Less

I read some pretty bad reviews on this ship before we left I was a little apprehensive. But much to my surprise everything went fine. My cabin was R108 it was not noisy some people said there was only one outlet we had more than one.this was a New Year's cruise and I can say Carnival does New Year's right, it was a lot of fun we cruised with two other couples. it's probably been five years since we've been on a cruise and dining has changed somewhat right now I want you to pay for premium steakhouse meals like surf and turf you are no longer served that in the main dining room, which was a little disappointing. The guys burgers up on the Lido deck are excellent so is the taco bar. This is an old ship I've been on a brand-new ship before the Carnival dream and it was too big had to wait in line for everything this one had some lines for food not too bad. I've looked at other cruise lines and they are more elegantantly decorated, Carnival seems to be decorated along the cheesy lines so it doesn't really matter if you get an old ship or brand new when they're going to be decorated pretty much the same. All in all I would recommend this ship. Read Less

We've sailed RC before, and this ship 2x, and knew we'd have great service and lots of fun. We took our 15 and 16 year old daughters and they had a blast since there were tons of teens on board. We met up with cruise friends and enjoyed each and every day. Getting on board and leaving the last day was super quick and easy. Well done. We had the drink package and wish we knew that Starbucks and other special drinks, like fresh squeezed orange juice, were part of the package. They don't make that clear anywhere. We found out late int he trip. We skipped the water park and all the lines at Coco Cay - the rides were mobbed. Even with 2 ships on the island we had plenty of beach chairs and decent bar service. Our tip is to go all the way to the far end of the island, Chill Beach near the construction barriers was practically empty for us all day. We were close to food, which was great and had lots of options, and we enjoyed the gorgeous pool and swim up bar. When it comes to parties beyond NYE on the promenade deck don't expect much. They tried to do a sail away party from Nassau and it was lacking compared to other ships. Hardly anyone came, the music was just a bunch of line dances led by the crew with little guest participation, it was a dud to say the least. The shows... "The Gift" was good though the story was hard to follow. "Spectras Cabaret" had a lot of early departures - people came, gave it 10 mins, and left. "We Will Rock You" was great - though some felt it was a little long (the finale is fabulous!!!). We caught the second half of the "Quest" and wish we knew how fun it would be - we'd have gone for the whole event. I went to the gym and found it average - nothing special. Totally packed the first few days and then yo'd get room on the weights in the afternoons. You will find lots of people who never go to a gym there the first few days giving it a try, they however do not understand gym etiquette and don't clean up after themselves and hog the equipment. Wish there was more room for free weights. We will be back on Royal Caribbean...next time, Europe. Read Less

I chose this cruise for my boyfriend's 50th birthday which happens to be New year's Eve so we wanted to be on the ship for his birthday. This cruise did not disappoint. You are never more than 100 feet to a bar or restaurant. Yes, some of the lines were long, but the ship was at full capacity, so we were patient and while standing in line met some really great people. The entertainment was great, they kept you busy. The flying Scotsman was fantastic and definitely is worth seeing. The cruise director is simply amazing. The food was good, we chose to only eat in the dining room for elegant night and the food was good. Our number one was guys burger joint, no long lines and the burgers were aahmazing! But the most important person I have to brag on is JIWA our Steward. We never needed anything. He was exceptional and when we cruise again if I can I will request him again. He went above and beyond. I would not only highly recommend cruising carnival sunrise, our next cruise will be on the sunrise. Read Less

We chose the Navigator of the Seas because this three (3) day weekend cruise occurred between Christmas and New Year's Eve and during Hanukkah. Leaving from Miami was an added bonus and a short car ride from where we live. The ship had recently been refurbished and I wanted to compare it to the Mariner of the Seas. While in college, I had worked on several cruise ships. We have also gone on many cruises with multiple cruise lines. The new Royal Caribbean Terminal in Miami was very Impressive. The embarkation was very organized and we were on the ship in a few minutes. Our cabin was ready on arrival. The Bedroom Steward was outstanding. The Windjammer was never overcrowded and the staff was very helpful. There were multiple selections. I found the food did not compare to the Dining Room. The Breakfasts there did not have fresh fruit (blueberries or strawberries) for cereal or yogurt. El Loco Fresh was very good. We all partook of the Mexican Entrees. The Cafe Promenade was a surprise. The coffee was always available, fresh and the best on the ship. There were also pastries, cookies, salads and small sandwiches available. Much to our surprise, the pizza was the best that I have had on any cruise ship. We had My Time Dining. There was never a significant wait. We had a Window Table (150) for four (4). Our waitress and assistant waiter were excellent. Although the dining room menu was similar to the Mariner of the Seas, the taste and presentation was much better on the Navigator of the Seas. The food was delicious and well prepared. Although we missed the Ice Show, the other shows were excellent. On previous cruises, the Art Auctions were informative and entertaining. These Art Auctions were disappointing and this was reflected in the decreasing sparse attendance. While on the ship, you never felt overcrowded. obtaining a deck chair or a seat in the theater was never a problem. The Diamond Club is always a high point of the cruise. However, placing it on Deck 5 was disappointment. The staff there was very helpful, but not being on a high deck with a view detracted from the experience. Coco Cay was a welcome addition. Multiple beaches, water parks, children"s areas , entertainment and feeding areas. We enjoyed the island. Downtown Nassau is even more rundown than before. The downtown stores had multiple vacancies. The area needs to be redeveloped or an alternative found. Disembarkation was organized and smooth. They used photo recognition. Pickup was also well organized. The other members of our group thought that this was their best cruise. We all had a wonderful time. Read Less

We have cruised on many Royal Caribbean ships, Princess, and NCL. This cruise had by far the best main dining room food. The public areas of the ship are in great shape, although the cabin was somewhat battered looking (for example, the drawers were all beat up). But overall it was an excellent cruise. There were plenty of deck chairs and even though the ship was likely full at Christmastime, we did not have trouble finding seats in the Windjammer. The new hand washing system outside the Windjammer is great. The staff seemed very happy and everyone was helpful. We had dinner in the main dining room every night. Our waiter was excellent. We wish that Starbucks was included in the drink package! The drink package made it so easy to have whatever else we wanted, including water bottles. Our itinerary was changed as we were leaving the Port of Miami. I had to scramble and make a phone call to change our day in Nassau before we left Miami. Luckily that worked out. Read Less

My boyfriend and I live in PA and we drove to Baltimore for this cruise trip. Embarkation and disembarkation were relatively smooth although we did have to wait in line for everything. Driving in Baltimore was slightly confusing even with the help of Google Maps, but the cruise terminal was relatively easy to find. We had to line up for parking. It was our first time cruising and overall it was pleasant. The room service was prompt and efficient, we had Kadek and he was very friendly. We got lovely towel-made animals every day. Dinner at Normandie restaurant was terrific, although we always had to wait for 20-40 minutes for a table (after 7:30 it gets better, but we preferred to go between 5:45 and 7), and had to wait to be served after being seated. Brunch at Normandie was also great, I loved their French toast. Lido buffet for lunch was usually pretty crowded and it was hard to find a table. I had very bad seasickness and had to call the room service for some medications. The meds were $4 per 2 pills. Wifi was expensive and the value plan didn't cover much. We switched to the social plan (the 2nd expensive one) and discovered that most sites could be used with the social plan, although the popular app WeChat was still restricted. We spent 3 days in the Bahamas and we only booked one shore excursion from an external site. The official excursions seemed expensive and boring. Our first day in Nassau was relatively entertaining. We walked to a lot of tourist attractions. The Starbucks near the cruise terminal had a reasonable price but poor wifi. On the 3rd day in Freeport, we stayed on the cruise. The ship itself is a bit aged, but it was fine. It was clean, and we didn't see much rust as seen in other reviews. The entertainment was ok-ish, not very attractive to me personally, so we stayed in our room and watched movies most of the time. The casino didn't have much in it, and it smelled bad. Overall, it was not so entertaining but very relaxing. If your sheer purpose is to relax, then carnival pride is for you. If you want some excitement and adventures, maybe choose another ship. The buffet , other foods and service was really great. i appreciate the workers there.they were so friendly, cooperative and sincere souls. Most of them from Indonesia, india and philippines. they were working like robots. Management was great. Everyone was working there like anything, from heart and soul. So, i request the owner to take much care about the worker esp the housekeepers, servers and cooks about their wages. They were cleaning the rooms and other areas with no trace of dirt. It was amazing. So, the owner needs to think that, if they are not present, his ship cant float on the water. Next most of the cabins are enclosed and no access of windows or balcony. So the bedrooms seem suffocating. The ship was wobbling a lot. I have no idea but had not heard it from the experts that it would wobble. The disembarking was so late. we had to wait more than 3 hours in the ship after we arrived the port. It tortured the passengers a lot. Again there was a huge wastage of food. The buffet made the passengers grab more than they actually need. There needs good norms to charge the ones who waste food. Those who waste should be charged. So they choose the right food and actual quantity. If the owner could save that food, he could pay handsome salary to the workers. A huge sum of his income is going to the trash. Read Less

We have mainly sailed CCL and wanted to try a different cruise line. We figured a 4 day would give us a good taste of MSC. We originally booked a balcony on deck 9 then decided to bid on the yacht club experience and it was accepted. Although it was a costly upgrade it was the best experience. The private lounge, bars, restaurants and sun decks were definitely worth it. The food was not bad at all. We did not go hungry. I did not like the pizza at all. The gelato and the Specialty Coffee was very good. We decided to try the main dining room on the last evening. We were set in a quiet section and were catered to every need. This is because we were Yacht Club. One day we walked through the Calumet buffet fir lunch. While there was a great variety of food to be had and it was laid out in way that you didn’t have to wait in a long line, I was glad we had our own private area to dine. There were just too many people and children to trip over. We watched one show ‘the show must go on’ a tribute to Queen and it was nice. The theatre was large and really didn’t have any bad views. The ship was large, clean and very friendly staff. We would sail MSC again although, I think we would definitely have to sail yacht club. Read Less

We were on the 4 day cruise with 2 stops at Coco Kay. Embarkation was a bit delayed due to a Coast Guard inspection, but we were warned ahead of time. We were able to get our lunch before it became too crowded due to my platinum membership. I always only eat at the "free" dining locations. I find these venues to be better food than I usually eat on land. I was happy with all food except on the last night they gave us free 50th anniversary cake. It was not good, but it was after my normal dessert anyway so we just left it. Our service at all locations were exemplary. They had a Eagles cover band called "The Long Run". My girlfriend and I completely enjoyed the show! They were awesome. We listened to other onboard entertainment which as very good as well. Despite having bad weather on the 2nd time at Coco Kay, the captain made every attempt to try to dock. He made the correct decision of skipping the island. We would not have had good enough weather to do anything anyway. We still made the best of the day on the ship. Our excursions were parasailing at Coco Kay which was beautiful. My girlfriend could have opened her eyes more! (Ha) We went snorkeling in the Bahamas and had a great time. The unlimited rum punch was great to get the salt taste out! ;) We also took a carriage ride. I found that to be very nice although traffic kind of takes away from the experience a little for me. Our driver was polite and helpful. We were going to do the outdoor activities of the ship on the last day, but the weather would not permit it. This was my 9 sailing on Royal and I would go back tomorrow if I could. Read Less

My husband rides on a scooter so traveling to a close by port is essential. 4.5 hours from our home, always come the night before and stay at the Hotel Hilton BWI. 15 minutes to the port of baltimore. On board as soon as we arrived. Porters took bags outside prior to parking. Through security and on board with no wait. This makes the start of vacation terrific. The Pride is a smaller ship, Roman theme. Easy to get around, fast elevators. Never waited on a line. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. This was our second time on the pride and we will go back again. Weather in December is finicky. 2 days sunshine in the 80s, 2 days heavy wind and rain. Did not damper our spirits. We cruised recently with two small & naughty kids, (ages 5 and 2) and it was super awesome experience. Crew members were very nice & gentle. Food was super delicious as we tried Blue Iguana Cantina for taco, Lido for dinner buffet, Atlantic for breakfast and Pacific Restaurant for dinner, Indian veg meal and there we met dinning staffs Rituparna , Christy , Ashish and they were so good & kind. We enjoyed movies with yummy popcorn every evening. Casino and Arcade was also well maintained & nice. We left our kids to Ocean camp Children's club several times which was on Deck 11 & they enjoyed all activities and were very happy with the staffs working there. I will definitely recommend my family and friends for Carnival Cruise lines. And next time whenever will plan for Cruise , we'll surely plan with Carnival Cruise lines for a week or more because 3 nights was not enough for us. Read Less

This was a quick pre-Christmas weekend get away with our family of 10. We live in Miami, and have visited Nassau before. We stayed aboard while in Nassau and really enjoyed the pools and slides. The Navigator had more than ample lounge seating. The 2nd day was at their private island - Coco Cay. What am amazing place this was. There were 2 RCCL ships there - so easily 7,000 people. The amount of space, and multiple venues - made it seem less crowded. We did get off the ship as early as we could. The lagoon pool was incredible. The food on board was great. The main dining room offered a nice variety each night and the service and attention was fabulous. We did purchase the drink package - and found it was worth every penny. The bar staff were super friendly and quickly got to know our group. Sometimes we would just “lift a finger” and a new drink would appear. Read Less

First time on Celebrity. Great price. Moved our Diamond status on RCCL to Elite on Celebrity. While the new benefits were so-so, the experience was extensive. I should also say that our Elite status got us to experience Sail away on the helipad, which is accessible only through crew areas. GREAT BEGGING! Major pluses - food (ice cream, gelato, breads, steaks, soups, variety in OVC aka WJ), casino (NO SMOKING!, seeing you have to walk through there four times a day), service(wait staff, management, trivia staff), towels (on each chair, without using my card!) and lounge entertainment (singles, duo's, little bands were very good) Minor nuisances - towels in cabin (Motel 8 has better), cabin attendant ( easily flustered), not getting early dine time (it worked out OK) , main show entertainment (walked out of two, other two were a no go). Ship was fine inside. Some rust and problems outside, but very livable. We were upgraded from an inside to verandah. The different thing for us was on Nassau. People seem to do one of the following here - Atlantis, beach day, shopping near main st, drink at a bar or stay on the ship. We went to church. It was Sunday, and I saw services at St. Francis at 8:30 and 11:00, We never made it to the first one, but did get there by taxi around 10. The Mass was just getting out and the singing and the joy coming from the congregation was great. While we waited for the next service, we met a couple from the Rhapsody OTS, and the DC area. We talked cruising and churches until the choir started. What a caring and boisterous group! Everyone greeted us like we were the newest members of their family. I've never seen so many strangers come over and shake our hands and hug us. After church, we wanted to go to a local place that our DS and DIL recommended. We found a taxi to take us to The Cricket Club. It was a local bar/restaurant with a porch overlooking a cricket field. We sat down for a couple beers and lunch, and the people next to us asked if we were at church this morning. They had recognized us due to my loud shirt (or maybe it was we were a just a shade lighter then they were). We talked and laughed and broke bread until our taxi came back for us. So, the ship s great. The food unbelievable. I'll be a repeat customer. But the people you meet unexpectedly on the ship or somewhere else are the stories you will tell your grandchildren. Read Less

After many cruises on Royal Caribbean and 2 on Carnival, we finally tried Celebrity. Our cruise was in December, 2019 4 nights from Miami visiting Key West and Nassau. The itinerary was perfect. We had full days in both ports with many excursions available. We stayed in the Aqua class and dined in the BLU dining room every night. The staff on the ship were extremely helpful and friendly. We've been on many cruises, and I would rate all staff members of the Celebrity Infinity as top notch in professionalism. The dining room staff seemed to remember all the guests names. They all made for such a really nice cruise vacation. The food was very good to excellent. I found the buffet was a little smaller than the buffet of all the Royal Caribbean and Carnival Ships, but I felt the quality was better. The late night pizza was done very well! The ship itself, was very clean. It didn't have the main promenade area like the Royal Caribbean ships we've been on, but there were still plenty of lounge areas etc. I think the only negative of the cruise, was the the cabins could use a little updating with the furniture, etc. The nightly shows were very good, but not quite as large as Royal Caribbeans. Overall, a very nice experience. The food quality and staff were excellent. Read Less

Then we did the dolphin adventure in Nassau. It Was Amazing!!!! I will only travel Norweigian from now on. It was clean, fun, great price, overall a fantastic experience. Our cabin was perfect, the ship was CLEAN, dining was fabulous, entertainment (again, Barry), just a great vacation. I will definitely take that cruise again, especially if Barry is at the piano bar. I cannot tell you how much fun he is, very entertaining, he remembered everyone's names and where we were from. My mom is almost 74 and she really enjoyed him. Good clean fun, very personable. Great service from our dining team which you keep throughout the rotation of dining rooms. Our experience was during holiday season and ship was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Nightly shows are high caliber entertainment along with first run movies available in a theater. Our port stops were good Key West, Castaway Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. We did not use any port excursions as we just explored on our own. Honestly at Castaway Cay you don't need any port excursions just enjoy the beautiful island. 1st time embarking at Miami and it was not as pretty as port Canaveral but Disney made it mostly seamless process. For a groupon cruise, this turned out to be a very enjoyable experience for my daughter and i. We were a little nervous at first b/c prior to the cruise, we saw negative reviews of the food and the cruise experience.adding to that, it was our first cruise. the staff was extremely nice and helpful and even allowed my child to stay in the kid's club for free on the last night of the cruise! The food was good. As a matter of fact, we enjoyed the cruise more than we enjoyed the bahamas! Plenty of activities to do on the boat for both kids and adults and we met a lot of great people. :-) TIPS FOR FIRST TIMERS -pack a small bag to carry on. Luggage takes forever to arrive! -DONT FORGET TO ATTEND THE LIFE JACKET DRILL BEFORE THE CRUISE SAIL -have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend this cruise if you're looking for a quick, affordable getaway. Read Less

We sailed on Mariner of the Seas over the Thanksgiving holiday. We are a family of four, with kids ages 6 and 9. We had perfectly fabulous time. We really enjoy cruising and have been on several cruise lines, but we really prefer RCI. I’ve read some pretty bad reviews of Mariner; I really think those folks are grumpy. We sailed on Mariner 13 years ago. She is a little older, but still in great shape and provided a great cruise for us. I would be happy to sail on her again. We downloaded the app and checked in online before the cruise. We used Park Port Canaveral. We had to wait about 15 minutes for the bus, which was very unusual. I would be happy to use them again. If you make reservations online before, there are usually coupons. Checking in at the port was very easy since all the documents were already ready. We were on board within minutes. We arrived around 11:30 and went straight to the Windjammer for lunch. Yes, it was crowded, but we just go with the flow and don’t let it bother us. My husband just raved about the seafood stew in the Windjammer on the first day. There were huge chunks of lobster. Plenty of variety for everyone on the first day. We set off to explore the ship and find our stateroom. Great fun in the afternoon. Service in General: We thought the service was really great all over the ship. Dining room, windjammer, stateroom attendant, in the casino, on coco cay, in other lounges… we never had an issue. Not sure waiters are “enthusiastic,” (as the survey asks) but provide great service overall. Someone was ill and needed to evacuate to the ER, so the ship went into the Miami port for a bit the morning of our day at sea. We thought this was great service for whomever was ill and it was a beautiful port to visit. We enjoyed it and hope whoever was sick is well. Ship Activities: The kids loved the hammocks, climbing-thing, and Sky Jump on Deck 12, aft. We spent a lot of time out there. Our son did the water rides and didn’t rave about them ...which we kind of expected. We did the same water ride on the Harmony and it was very slow and actually kind of boring. Nothing can compare with the AqauDuck on the Disney Dream. If I was not so cheap, I would book another Disney Dream cruise, just to ride the AquaDuck. RCI needs to step it up with water rides on the boat, but this is a very, very picky complaint. Our son liked the rock climbing wall. If you can catch these things when they first open, the lines are a lot shorter. The hot dog stand should not be missed!!! Main Dining Room: We like RCI food and are always happy with the meals. The french onion soup is better than neighborhood cafes. There was also a special menu for Thanksgiving. We ordered one of everything and passed around family style. It was great! The main dining room also has a delicious buffet every morning (except the last morning) in addition to table service. We much prefer the MDR buffet to the crazy Windjammer. We were able to visit the MDR for one lunch and were happy the Tutti Salads were back. And, it included a delicious buffet. Just skip the Windjammer when you can! Casino: The Cruise Compass has $3 Blackjack in the casino once a day. I had to miss a bit of dinner to make sure I was able to play. One day I showed up to play for $3 and there was not a table open. I explained to the pit boss the Cruise Compass showed low limits and they were very happy to open a table. Great service. They had a whole table full in no time and it was very fun. If you play less than $10 on the $3 table, you must play $2 and the $1 side bet. When the side bet hit, it was nice… just didn’t happen too often. My husband hates the side bets, but I was just happy to play for low! The craps pit opened around 7 or 8pm, but did not start hopping until 9:30pm or so. The minimum was $10. Very fun and I did well at the craps pit. Diamond Lounge: Fabulous service, great drinks, and it was nice no one gave us a hard time that we were exiting out the “emergency door” to keep an eye on our kids. The menus were wrong each night… but that is very, very picky. Thank you for the great service. Spa: The prices were not so awful and there were specials every day. There are also slight discounts offered on Port Days before 11am, I think. I would wait to book until you get on board so you can get a better deal. Photos: Much improved with the addition of touch screens. We were able to see our photos easily without having to search or evens speak to a human. Shows: The Headliner Show (Art Themed) was just ok. My son and husband left early and didn’t care for it. But, after you’ve seen the RCI show Columbus and Beauty/Beast on Disney, nothing else can compare. The ice skating show was pretty good. It was a little long for the kids. The juggler was terrific! Nassau: I think I’ve been to Nassau at least 15 times in my life. Even though it is not a great port, there is always something to do… you just have to look. This time, with the kids, we wanted to keep it low-key. So, we made arrangements for a Day Pass to the Hilton British Colonial right there, by the port. I’m not sure I would recommend this hotel/day pass. If you have low expectations and are ok with a bit of construction next door (it was not that bad), then you may want to check it out. The pool is nice, the grounds are nice, and the beach is pretty good for being so close to the port. Our kids had a blast with the kayak, even though we could not go very far. With the Day Pass, you get access to most everything and $40 per adult in food/drink credit and $20 per kid. The only problem was…. It took FOREVER to get a drink or service, or food. In fact, we didn’t get our food. We had a fabulous morning, but were still waiting after an hour and 10 for Kalik and food. So, we asked the front desk if we could just bail. They were kind enough to credit us back the food credit, which we thought was very fair. Then, we hightailed it back to the windjammer for a great late lunch. In all, it worked out for us, but I won’t be going back. Coco Cay: We have also been going to Coco Cay once/twice a year, for about 15 years. We loved Coco Cay back when there was nothing… but what RCI has done is truly magnificent. Coco Cay blows the two other islands (Castaway Cay with Disney and Norwegian’s island) completely out of the water… there is no comparison. Coco Cay is clean, easy to navigate, not too much walking, and super fun. We could not get over how big the pool was (I think I heard the biggest pool in the Caribbean). The pool was unbelievable. The food and drinks on Coco Cay were also the best we had the whole cruise. I think I ate about five small ribeye steak sandwiches. There is also plenty to do that was “free.” We didn’t buy the water park passes because our daughter is not tall enough. But the water park looked very fun. Yes, there were long, long lines. I would guess going first thing in the morning at 8am, would be best to avoid the lines. But, even without the park pass, the kids enjoyed the huge pool, the beach, the splash pit, and the pirate ship. There were always plenty of places to sit and we found a lot of shade too. I wish there were slightly cheaper options for cabanas. I was watching them online and I just can’t stomach paying over $600 for a cabana. Two years ago, we got a cabana for about $200 and it made for a lovely day. But, this option does not exist anymore (or maybe not yet again). I’m glad we did it when we had the chance. We have even planned our next cruise itinerary around going back to Coco Cay… it's that great! The Beach Club opens in Jan 2020 and I can’t wait to see what that is, because it's located on the nicest part of the island IMH opinion. You may also want to snag a map of Coco Cay on board the ship to get the lay-of-the-land before getting onto Coco Cay. But, there are also plenty of workers in yellow and red shirts to help you around. Can’t wait to go back! Disembarking: Was the best we’ve ever seen it. And, we have waited, and waited, and waited in some very, very, very long lines. The line was shorter, kept moving the whole time, and the facial recognition/passport procedure is life-changing. Thank you for speeding this up!! I always dread the disembarkation line, but it was a pleasure! Now I don’t have to dread that line anymore! In all, it was a great cruise and I would highly recommend RCI and Mariner of the Seas. We can’t wait for our next RCI cruise. Hope this was helpful and thanks for reading. Read Less

Absolutely LOVED this ship!! it was sold out for thanksgiving week - we had 2 connecting balconies but the rooms were on the 6th deck, right above the smoking area on deck 5 =( Booooo... we would often get a waft of smoke up to our room, so we really didn't use the balconies too much. it was weird cause we weren't looking straight down into the water like previous balcony rooms but all good. we did my time dining and it was amazing. the service was impeccable, food was obviously made by skilled chefs who love their job. we know the hustle involved and even with those long days, the staff went out of their way for us - at every turn. even giving us indian food at dinner without being asked, and telling us the night they had indian food in WJ - - and that was some legit indian food for real. never had a bad meal. Jamies italian was equally impressive and Wonderland was incredible. What a great experience. our room steward was Duvall who was awesome to deal with. service-minded and just a fun guy, caring, genuine. we totally LOVED the entertainment - all the shows were amazing. these cast members are so talented and work so hard - i just wish that the crowd gave them more noise for their efforts. WE WILL ROCK YOU was better than i expected, THE GIFT had some great covers of music tunes, and SPECTRA's cabaret was very very weird but the cast is amazing. Two70 room is simply incredible. the best use of space on the ship! Went there and chilled out a few times between shows, nice cafe attached, the sound in that room is sick!! the robotic-arm TV's were so cool, with all of the back screens in use.. sound quality was better than a movie theater. I would definitely recommend using this space. it took us 25minutes to get on the ship once we walked into the port - AMAZING!! it took us 20 minutes to get off the boat at the end!! So hassle-free !! Perfect Day was incredible. we had a cabana and access to waterpark and that was such a fun day. they need to spend more time in port at Perfect Day for sure...8-9hrs was not enough! Ifly was so incredible as well. but it's only one minute in the chamber =( .. what an exhilarating ride! Read Less

Avid cruiser in my 40's with a teen child. We have been on 10+ cruises, this a first on Anthem. Was worried after reading a few of the last reviews, however, we were thrilled with the experience. We were fortunate to be in a suite which provided some add'l perks that were well worth it. The higher pricing gave us the following: All meals in Coastal Kitchen (way better than pushing around the Windjammer and trying to find a seat). Concierge lounge VIP seating for shows Cocktail hours I can't say we ate at the main DR, but, everyone we spoke to love the food. Add'l info on specialty dining: Wunderland- eh, experience was interesting, but our 14 yo was not adventurous and meal took 3 hours. Chops- We loved every meal there and staff was excellent Izumi- fantastic sushi and great staff Jamie's- ate there once, decent, but a little bland. Vintages- we were there everday and Z (manager) was great and fantastic wines Coastal Kitchen (suite dining)- great food and service Excursions- FL- Did Cocoa beach and Ron Jon shopping Nassua- on ship Coco Cay- Wow, really impressed and plenty of seating to lounge by pools or beach. Our daughter did the water park and loved it. Entertainment: Spectra Cabaret- Fantastic show and entertainment We will rock you- Great singing, a bit too long though Lou Gazzarra- Wow, he was an amazing singer with a humbling story to fame. Lastly, we will definitely go back. Best cruise we've had in years! Read Less
