The Sky is a smaller ship (about 2,000 passengers) and has its tradeoffs. While the cabin ARE smaller, the elevators, hallways, and common areas are NOT crowded. There were chairs available on the pool deck and tables were always available at the Garden Cafe. Such is not the case on the bigger ships. Disembarkation on the last day was a breeze, compared to my last NCL cruise.

After sailing on the Eurodam in March, 2019 on an extended cruise to the south pacific, we were hoping that the Volendam would be an improvement concerning food quality. We were pleasantly surprised and did not have a single issue on the Volendam the entire cruise. We are 4 Star Mariners and have sailed with Holland America for many years and have recently seen major issues with food quality; this ...
PROS:
ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES: enough to cater to all tastes, from funny and wild dancing on the Lido Deck to calm, piano or violin music in the lobby and walking areas on Deck 5. The comedy club was great, loved the ambiance and lounge atmosphere. The shows we saw were entertaining with the America Rocks show being our favorite. We missed the Love and Marriage Show, but we were told this ...
This was my first MSC cruise. The Meraviglia is huge - but it never felt crowded. It has a good layout, centered by an atrium featuring the (to date) largest LED ceiling at sea. My balcony cabin was comfortable (especially the pillows!). Not much storage space for two on a longer cruise, but you can make it work. The staff is friendly and works hard, although I sense an undercurrent of ...
MSC Meraviglia review
We just completed 12 days (two back to back sailings) in the Caribbean on the MSC Meraviglia. We cruise alot and we wanted to sail on MSC to have a first-hand experience. I've read alot of negative MSC reviews, and I will tell you up front: we had a positive overall experience.
There were problems with embarkation, which we expected, as there are typically problems and ...
The ship is very modern and typical of the new mega-ships. The boarding was very delayed due to the first arrival into Miami with customs and immigration delays, but overlooking that, MSC still needs to do a better job with the check-in process. Even though you have to check-in online beforehand you still have to do it all again at the port, have your picture taken, enter passport, and they ...
Chose this cruise as a short getaway with no flying involved. New Medallion system made embarkation very fast and efficient. The Royal staff was as always very friendly and attentive.
The Royal is a nice ship, everything worked - not always true on some of the older ships. But the MedallionNet systemm they hyped so much was very spotty, worked some times and not others. With no enclosed pool ...
Relaxing and fun with a couple of speed bumps
Ship – The Regal Princess, big, beautiful and clean
Staff – Overall very good, bordering on excellent –
• Staff callouts:
o Karen in the Retreat Pool area – excellent service, about the best we’ve had on 12 or so cruises.
o Ahmed in the Retreat Pool area - a close 2nd to Karen.
o Magdalana – Front Desk – outstanding follow up and ...

I am a Canadian senior, and though I am an experienced traveler and have spent a lot of leisure time in foreign countries, mainly one place in Mexico, I had never taken a cruise. Price was a consideration, and my cousin (a travel agent) got me what I feel was a relatively good deal on a week-long cruise to the western Caribbean, especially since I was travelling alone.
The ship was relatively ...
