We booked this cruise with 2 other couples to celebrate 2 Birthdays and for the itinerary which included 4 port days. This is our 7th cruise on Holland America. We had praised up our previous cruises and the quality of service, cuisine and attention to detail with our friends. It soon became apparent, that this cruise was not going to compare in any way with our previous experiences.

We have sailed on Carnival twice and Norwegian twice and this will be our last time on Norwegian. Family of four with a 3 year old and 15 year old.
PROS
-Tortola is beautiful. Do a shared charter
-Cagney's and the Brazilian specialty restaurant were exceptional
-The 2 Broadway shows were fantastic
-Kids splash academy was great

Well, we didn't crash or lose engines... but we could not WAIT to get off this crappy ship!
Food: MDR food was awful & the selection was like ordering food at Cracker Barrel, but with worse service. (Epic is understaffed, and it shows... everywhere) Fried chicken, cornbread, short ribs, pot pie, bbq pork, rotisserie chicken, steak with fries??? Where is the seafood?? Pathetic! We choose this cruise because it coincided with my stepdaughter's Spring Break and she really wanted to go to the Bahamas. Ship was dated and not attractive. Very crowded because it was spring break so lesson for me don't cruise the Caribbean during the March/April time frame. Cabin was verandah on the 8th deck and noise came from decks above and below us. We are a family of four and this was our first cruise. We did not have high expectations as we knew coming on that this was an old shop....we chose it because of it being within driving distance from our home. The ship itself isn’t terrible (aside from the tiniest pool I’ve ever seen). Most of the crew really do try hard to make it a pleasant experience.

We choose this cruise because we had taken the Alaskan cruise on the Norwegian Pearl and had a wonderful time. The cruise was not worth the money we had to pay. I don't even know where to start! The rooms are horrible! A suite should not be called a suite! A family of 4 cannot fit in the room!
