After several enjoyable Cruises with Carnival we chose to go with Princess Cruises from Sydney 13nights to New Zealand, we were told Carnival was a 3 star cruise line and Princess was a 4 star cruise. When we phoned Princess we told them of our dietary requirements and were told that we would be well catered for and there would be no problems with those requirements. Nothing could have been ...
The stateroom was awful. The bed was as hard as a rock, and the bathroom too small for me at 6'4". The TV didn't work. The soap dispenser is a tube you have to squeeze, which was painful with my arthritic thumbs.
The wi-fi is not free and costs A$30 for the week. Even a grubby motel will give you free wi-fi.
There are three restaurants included in the fare. The Pavilion Chinese restaurant ...
Got what we thought was a good deal & really liked the itinerary. Unfortunately the times in port were very restricting for example we didn’t get ashore in Napier until 5.30 pm when most everything was closed & only had 90 minutes there. Dunedin & Wellington had to be back on ship really early.
Complimentary food in MDR & Lido was just awful - stale bread, little choice, lukewarm or cold food, ...
Cruise was around NZ.
Excellent shows however not much else to say anything good about.Although while i think about it, the shower was good and the bed comfortable.
Here are just a few random issues, not every complaint as I don't want to bore you just warn you.
We (2 women) shared a cabin and had issues with the room attendant coming in to the room 2-3 times a day (that we knew about) ...
We wanted a short cruise before summer and thought we'd try this new cruise line. WE paid quite a lot for a balcony cabin but there was not much space in there. Embarkation etc was very quick, no problems at all. Staff were very friendly and plenty of staff available. Food was a definite weak spot. Most food was Asian, not to our taste, but the so called Western food was not good at all, in ...
My cruise was a surprise arranged by my friend. I was amazed. Arriving we were greeted by friendly porters and our suitcases were taken to our booked cabins. We then waited some time in five rows filling out paperwork before being served at a counter, then given further documents for customs. Staff were continually on hand to manage the rows.
Once through Customs we walked towards the ...
We chose this cruise because it linked to another cruise that would be ending and went to a destination we wanted to see. This was advertised to us as a 5 1/2 star ship. It is a 4 1/2 star ship with 3 1/2 star food and service.
Embarkation: The porter staff was gruff and borderline rude. We were told if we had alcohol in our checked luggage we had to remove it or it would be confiscated. ...
Just returned from Viking Orion- Australia and New Zealand, plus a pre-cruise to Cairns.
Over all our trip was wonderful. We were so blessed with good weather and mostly calm seas. Our flights took us from KC to Dallas, to Sydney. Then to Cairns for our pre-cruise. I would recommend this pre-cruise because the northern part of Australia is beautiful with the Barrier Reef and rain forest. Our ...
We have been on 2 Viking River Cruises, but never an Ocean Cruise, so we chose to try our first Ocean Cruise with Viking because of their reputation for excellence and we wanted a small ship experience. Overall the cruise was excellent. The ship was beautiful, open and airy with lots of huge windows and spaces to use without ever being crowded. All the Viking staff are top notch, which we love. ...
Based on the price, we thought Ponant would be a really nice cruise, but we were disappointed in comparison to other top-notch cruise lines we've enjoyed. Many incidents were individually small things that would have been easily overlooked IF the overall cruise or friendliness of the staff would have exceeded (or even MET) our expectations. As our cruise progressed though, the tiny annoyances ...
