We wanted to go between Singapore and Hong Kong on the southern route, having 'done' the northern on other lines. We were only interested in a true luxury cruise and while we read Silversea's blurb on "ultra luxury" we thought that perhaps half was true and the other half publicity hype, but it would be better than average. Wrong!!! It was 3/4 hype and 1/4 reality, so of the three lines on the ...
We thoroughly enjoyed our first proper cruise. We chose this cruise for the intinerary & because it coincided with my husbands 50th Birthday.
We thought Millenium was a great ship, she’s looking a little tired in places & if you really scrutinise her darkest corners I’m sure you’ll find much more wear & tear...but who wants to do that when you’re on holiday? We were happy to take her at face ...
The itinerary was just what we were looking for and we were not disappointed. However the Millennium is a little tired looking and as it was our first cruise with Celebrity we were a little underwhelmed with the experience. Cruise staff were excellent but the drinks and drinks packages were extortionate, and we didn't appreciate the hard sell by several members of staff as we were trying to board. ...
Overall the cruise was a bit disappointing, mainly because of numerous little things that collectively marred the experience . The crew were excellent and did their best to make your cruise special. The boat was a little jaded in places and the cabin showed some wear but was spacious, I did not feel these issues however were too significant.
Major disappointments were the distances from port ...
This was our 5th Cruise with Azamara and cruising down the West Coast of Australia is the wrong time of year as it is Cyclone season. Although we didn’t come across one there were a few in area both before and after our sailing down the coast.
Embarkation was a little longer then we have previously experienced as there were torrential rain in Bali and I think everyone wanted just to get ...
My wife and I found most things about this cruise very poor and we were glad when it ended. With the exception of cabin staff, visiting entertainment, and the Ocean View buffet, everything about this cruise from the food down to the quality of the toilet paper was 2 Star. From the moment of embarkation we were pestered to purchase a drinks package on numerous occasions which we did not want. ...
My husband and I choose this cruise because we liked our previous 5 cruises with Silversea and we liked the itinerary which included seeing Orangutans and because it was sailing between two of our favorite cities. We love the Shadow, especially it's size, but it needed to go into dry dock even before we sailed on it 10/16, and, now the ship really requires a major overhaul. The sofa in our ...
This cruise was booked for us as a family holiday, including our two teenagers.
After reading reviews I had prepared myself and my immediate family for an older, tired ship with not so much to do and average food...we were thrilled to have realised we were wrong.
THE SHIP
The ship is 18 years old and lives on the sea, so of course there is going to be rust, some worn out places and paint ...
To judge by the number of B2B travellers from the previous cruise, many of the Azamara family had been eagerly awaiting this first journey to Sydney round the West Australian coast. I for one was certainly not disappointed. A brisk headwind greeted our journey south, but as we visited ports where we were given an enthusiastic welcome, the temperature hovered around the mid 20's (70's) which made ...
We are pretty experienced cruisers with different cruise lines but we keep coming back to Celebrity. Our last cruise in September was with MSC - boy, what a change! This was like chalk and cheese.
Service really was outstanding, led by Captain Alex P. His humorous briefings were so funny, for example "We will be sailing at 6 if I can find the ignition key" He was also friendly and visible ...
