Rarely have I been so disappointed by a cruise.
I booked, what was promised to be an "Expedition" cruise through the Indonesian archipelago, from Singapore to Darwin.
The supposed highlight of this cruise (and the main reason why I booked it) was the exclusive visit to an Orang-utan rehabilitation project in the Tanjung Puting National Park on Borneo.
Whilst for most other passengers on ...
We chose this cruise for the cheap price that was offered at the time of booking. It was disappointing from start to finish. The embarcation was a shamozole. No one seemed to know what they were doing. The food in the buffet section was very ordinary to some other ships we have been on. The lines were long and you had to be lucky to find a seat to sit down on. I will say that the restaurant's are ...
Hi, I'm an experienced cruiser, but have never sailed with Royal Caribbean.
My Mum (75)and I flew from Heathrow to Singapore, stayed overnight, and joined the voyager of the seas for the trip of a life time visiting Australia.
We checked in our 2 cases, with full information stapled to handles, confirming we were on the voyager, as the Quantum of the seas was birthed beside.
We ...
I choose this cruise for one reason only the ports of call, I was excited to get guided tours around, no thinking, no getting lost but after the third terrible excursion, I cancelled the rest of them. Cruise Asia is a terrible provider of excursions and does not even give a bottle of water all day. (note average age of traveler is 65+ and the hottest ports of call in the world)
The literature ...
I think this is my first time writing a complaint. I've been on Mariners of the Seas two years ago and had a very good impression of RC. In fact I always tell people how good RC is. However, this time on Voyager of the Seas was really bad. Many staff were impolite and insincere, food weren't great, and generally it wasn't as organised. Summary of a few problems I had:
- Booked 5.30pm dining (I ...
My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed 3 prior river cruises with Pandaw, Mekong, Irra waddy and Red river/Halong bay, plus optional Pandaw land tours.
On 12th October all that credibility crumbled to dust and blew away.
Whilst in transit from Delhi to Kolkata afternoon of the 11th we received an email from Brett Lemish, Indian area manager of Pandaw, advising due to flooding our 14 day river ...
We have travelled extensively on ocean and river over the last 20 years and have, with the exception of our October Pandaw India trip, always enjoyed our adventures. On two occasions plans went astray but we were adequately compensated. This is the first time I have voiced my dissatisfaction in a public forum and I have endeavoured to report the issues as accurately as possible.
We arrived in ...
We travelled to Kolkata on 10 October , looking forward to Pandaw’s inaugural 14 day cruise up the Ganges to Varanasi.
Late in the afternoon of 11 October ( the day before departure ) we were told that the cruise was not going to take place . We later found out that the stated reason , namely a closed lock at Farraka , had been known to Pandaw since 4 October ( at the latest ) . Pandaw ...
We choose this cruise due to the itinerary it stopped in Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore. The ship was on its way to Australia.
This ship is not ready for the Australian market. Very focused on its Asia market.
Service was terrible and slow. Very disorganised staff who didn’t know how to apologise.
Had to go looking for service.
Drinks took ages to be served.
Took 3 hours to ...
We chose this ship because it had been revamped and visited destinations we hadn't visited before. Firstly we were herded into a tin roof waiting area and then pushed along by some of the most arrogant people I have ever met. There was no organization, no dividers to keep people in line , no water as we advanced on our two hour journey through the first shed into a larger area all the while in ...
