We had previously been on Regent Cruises, the last on the Splendour and splendid it was. Sadly our enthusiasm for Regent was curbed somewhat when full of expectation, we boarded the Explorer touted by Region as the worlds most expensive cruise ship. The checking in was a disaster with guests having to queue for 2-3 hours to get their boarding passes on be allowed onto the cruise.

The Sydney destination was what initially appealed, that and the no Children issue.
The numerous restaurants was also a good idea, and also free WiFi.
The restaurants worked out extremely well, we had our favourites which were the Wake, Razzle Dazzle and Pink Argave. All served extremely well cooked meals and a reasonable range of Menu's.

Embarkation in Dubai was long. There was an issue with the check-in system which stated that passengers required a Thailand visa, which we didn't. Staff had to manually override this for each cabin, however only one person could do it, we were in line for about 45 minutes, I did hear of others being in line for 5 hours.

1. RC - Spectrum of the Sea was sizeable and with great facilities and common areas for all ages.

We chose this ship mainly because of the itinerary. The cabin was designed well and of reasonable size with a walk in closet and a balcony.
