Just back from an excellent cruise around the western and southern coasts of Australia on the beautiful Azamara Journey. Why do we return to Azamara? - the WONDERFUL Azamara crew who look after us so well and with such enthusiasm.
The ship is in excellent condition, though there are a few issues (gym equipment , elevator indicators) and new carpets in the hallways, and fortunately no further ...
Hi Bilgeboy30, thank you for the entertaining cruise review.
As for where to go next...how about South America next year on our new Azamara Pursuit?...
I have been cruising since 2013, I got addicted to the cruises. I have done the Baltics route once before but it was without Berlin and Helsinki.
Recent cruise was in Celebrity Millennium which I consider one of the best ships I ever been in.
My departure was from Singapore, where I spent 3 days in it going around.
Celebrity Millennium has a Great Service, Lovely ship and cabin was a ...
This particular cruise was chosen for the itinerary of exploring Wesreern Australia. We knew we’d never be able to visit all the ports that Azamara Journey called on without going on a cruise. Having visited Queensland and Victoria many times, we wanted to explore the west coast. The best was Kangaroo Island and the all day shore excursion to view kangaroos and koalas in the wild.
Having ...
We always wanted to visit Vietnam & Hong Kong. We had heard very good things about Celebrity, and as they included our destination requirement, this was a no brainer. Checking in was easy and very efficient, being in a Suite gave us priority. Waiting to get into our suite was a bit boring, yet gave us time to explore some parts of the ship. Our room was excellent, well furnished and comfortable. ...
In a teeming rain, we left the shelter of our hotel in Bali, wondering if we had made a good decision in booking an 18-day circuit around the barren western & southern coasts of Australia, ending in Sydney. Did we??? Well - you decide, by reading my story of our travels....
Let us begin at the very beginning...before Bali...as it takes some doing for an American to even get there. One must ...
Having thought about the overall experience, the company claims credit for its upcoming much needed refurbishment program, but surely this is a management failure of not doing this on an ongoing basis.
The cabin was tired, damaged and needed cleaning. In parts, this comment could also be applied to the rest of the ship.
Down to the bar for a pre dinner mojito - but there were no mint leaves ...
Positives
- Meeting 3 other couples on the boat in our age range
- the 2 speciality restaurants on the boat; Toscana & the Polo plus the grand dining
room were good.
- The ship was small enough to get into ports close to the main city visited.
- The string quartet that played around the boat at various times was very good.
Negatives
- When we stepped on the boat in Singapore ...
Very worthwhile cruise to see new and exciting ports on a first class ship. Although staterooms are.a bit compact and we prefer the “O” class ships, the smaller ship allowed us to dock close to city centers in Bangkok, Ho Chi Min City, Denang and Hong Kong.
Entertainment was as expected for this size of ship with some good guest singers although a poor chice in a juggling duo. They did show 2 ...
Took a short cruise as wasn't sure if everyone would like it. We all wish it had been longer.
There were 7 of us. Ages 68, 2 young 40's, 2 19 yr olds, a 16 yr old and one 11 year old.
The 11 year old joined the kid's club and preferred to stay on board to be with her new friends than go out with us touring. The parents felt good about leaving her with the minders on board as there were child ...
We chose the cruise based on the itinerary and reviews of Oceana. We loved it and met many great people on the ship! The food was wonderful, especially in the speciality restaraunts. The ship itself was really pretty. This cruise started in Singapore and traveled to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and ended in Hong Kong. The real advantage of this cruise and ship was the port locations. Bigger ...
