We just had one of the worst cruises ever.
Our boat was stuck in port in Ushuaia for two days before leaving for the “Cruise of a lifetime”. To Antarctica. We keep being put off we were originally leaving at 6pm on the 24th. We sat there until the 26th. No excursions nothing to occupy our time. The boat we were on Atlas World Traveller had made no alternate plans for us and when kept tell the ...
Loved seeing antarctica. we booked as former fans of regent after 5 previous trips. The voyager is a nice boat with fun circular pool bar where we have enjoyed meeting many friends on past trips. however, the boat is looking somewhat shabby and needs a rehab to put it back to 5 star status. while the staff people are great, they seemed stressed/training mode now, from what we observed (lack of ...
While we had a wonderful time and felt safe on board, there were a number of areas the cruise line missed the mark:
1. We paid for an upgraded dinner at Teppenyaki restaurant. Of the four people in our party, there was a problem with the meals. Raw chicken was served and two people were served things they repeatedly stated they were allergic to. We even booked it for the first sitting so the ...
We chose this cruise line based on the recommendation of friends, and the particular ship based on sailing date. What we found was that the Marina was designed strictly for tropical sailing, not colder climates. The pool area was not enclosed, and opened directly into the eating areas and passageways, leaving those areas uncomfortably cold. The upkeep on the ship was poor (lots of rust and bad ...
Chose this cruise as we had wanted to visit the Falkland Islands, and see Antarctica. Was unsure if a true expedition cruise would be too challenging, however, in the end would much have preferred a true expedition experience (with use of Zodiacs, etc). We chose Regent as we had travelled on the Splendor in 2021, and had a positive experience throughout the Mediterranean and trans ...
First I want to state that we were very excited to take this cruise and had high expectations given Oceania’s reputation. We had recently taken Holland America across the Pacific and expected this to be even better. We were terribly disappointed.
The very first problem was the embarkation. The pier in Rio is large and there were 2 other ships in port at the time. It was also very crowded with ...
Buenos Aries. Embarkation was a nightmare. The cruise terminal was destroyed by a storm 4 weeks ago. Princess has not adequately responded. If you have a Princess transfer you will be taken care of. Everyone Else waited in long line in the sun. I was in a wheelchair and line took 3 hours and 20 minutes. No English speaking Princess employees to even explain what was happening. No signs to ...
First time sailing Celebrity. We wanted to go to Antartica (but not on an expedition ship). The itinerary was great! However, we missed the Falkland (Malvinas) Island stop due to it being a tendered stop and the weather was not great (or so they said). That created a little too many sea days all together. I'll try to sum up this review quickly:
POSITIVES:
Antartica/penguins/icebergs - ...
We had a wonderful sailing by the Antartic (Paradise Bay/ Elephant Island) The weather was amazing and we could spot lots of Fauna, ranging from penguins at a distance from many many whales Humpback and Blue really, really close. This two days were undoubtedly the highligt of an itinerary that has too many days on sea in a crowded boat that with bad weather turns on a overcrowded Garden café, ...
This was our first cruise on Silversea. We were on the Silver Wind for18 nights (roundtrip from Puerto Williams) to Falkland Islands, South Georgia Island and the Antarctic Peninsula.
What We Really Liked
* Butler service was outstanding
* The Restaurant Dining Room waiters were excellent (most, but not all)
* The activities host did an outstanding job with trivia, name that tune, ...
