We choose this cruise to save time and experience more of Antarctica. Instead, we were delayed not but weather but by another expedition team waiting to go. Quark expedition was delayed by weather and took our spot leaving Puerto Arenas on the day we were to leave. We were suppose to arrive at our ship Sunday but instead got there Tuesday. Silversea then decided to deviate from our route by not ...
Chose this cruise as we had wanted to visit the Falkland Islands, and see Antarctica. Was unsure if a true expedition cruise would be too challenging, however, in the end would much have preferred a true expedition experience (with use of Zodiacs, etc). We chose Regent as we had travelled on the Splendor in 2021, and had a positive experience throughout the Mediterranean and trans ...
My 2nd ever cruise and first on a so-called Prestige Line ship.
Voyager as a ship was tired and clearly in need of refurbishment. TV swung from side to side even on a moderate swell giving sleepless nights. Balcony door wouldn't lock. The so-called exclusive toiliteries (shampoo and soap) were of a quality found in cheap motels forcing us to buy from the Spa Shop.
The staff servicing the ...
Our cruise only had about 300 passengers. The entire crew was fantastic! The expedition crew ensured we had as many outings as possible, and our several days we had landings and zodiac cruises. We had terrific weather up until the last landing. They issue boots and you get a complimentary jacket. Hiking poles in different heights are also provided. Food was delicious in the Aune restaurant and ...
My wife and I have now been to 74 countries and all 7 continents, including 3 cruises at the age of 35 and I know we'll look back on this trip forever as the BEST thing we have ever done. The vacation itself included flights from the UK to Argentina where we boarded the SH Vega, bound for Antarctica.
We originally said that Antarctica was a once in a life time destination but having been, we'd ...
We chose this itinerary because of its stop in the Falkland Islands and the several days spent scenic cruising in Antarctica, and other stops at the southern tip of South America. It was life-changing. As always Oceania delivered a superior cruise vacation. Oceania has the best food of any cruise line we have traveled with, and the staterooms are very comfortable. All ship staff -- the servers, ...
Great experience all way around. Stateroom was on the 7th level. My room keeper was excellent. Room was prepared immediately after I left. He noticed any repairs that required fixing and had a service person take care of it at once without delay. Very friendly and helpful.
All staff on board were extremely friendly and helpful.
Food was very tasty with great variety over the 24 days. ...
It’s been over 10 years since I traveled with Oceania. Our overall experience was positive. The ship is in need of some renovation as it is showing signs of aging in some areas. We werein a standard veranda cabin, and was satisfactory. The beds were very comfortable and the room layout satisfactory. The shower is quite small and a larger person would have difficulties. The dining experiences ...
I give this 4.5 stars but 1/2 stars aren't allowed. First and foremost, the service is excellent in all areas - room service, butler, restaurants - and the ship is clean and kept that way. Our stateroom was a Penthouse Suite and was what I expected in size and amenities. The bed was comfortable. Tub and showers were good sized for a cruise ship. Our suite had a full closet where we could store our ...
The obvious reason was ship included Antarctic on this trip, as well as most of S America. Great trip though, excellent staff in restaurants. Food, which used to be excellent was average at best. Repetitive menu in Main Dining Room after 12 days. Portions were minimal at best, You could actually tell that a cost reduction was in effect by selections Simple things like coffee, which used to be ...
