I didn't pick this cruise, my bride did. One day out of the blue, she asked me "Can we go on an Alaska cruise?" We'd already been on one in 2017, but I didn't argue with her. It's a good enough cruise to do a repeat.

My nephew had a break at school so my sister took the opportunity to take him on vacation so she booked NCL Bliss.
I had no plans on joining them but my mother talked me into it so I can keep them company.

The ship its self is nicely presented but the service was horrible. First of all our bags were not in our room until 9pm, our room smelled like arm pit and we were suppose to have a bottle of champagne when we got to our room & desserts for our Anniversary and nothing was there. We had not been on Seabourn and very much enjoyed our first trip. Nice people. Pleasant staff and generally a product that is a notch up from other lines we’ve been on.

We chose the 20 day repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Ft Lauderdale mainly for an opportunity to relax and be pampered..not as much for the ports of call en route. My husband has mobility issues and we didn’t expect to do many excursions ( I did 3 and he, 2). We welcomed days at sea.

I choose this cruise because it was easy access for my sister and myself as we live in Vancouver.
I have cruised a lot but only once before with Princess to Alaska. I normally use Celebrity.
First of all the good. I cant say enough about the friendliness of the ship crew and staff. 5 stars I would give 6 if I could.

Sapphire was built in 2004 and refurbished in 2018.
It hold ups to 2670 passengers and up to 1100 crew. That's a nice crew to passenger ratio.
This smaller ship really provides wonderful service. We took a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles from October 8th-15th, 2023.
I would have given them a 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't a choice.

Wanted to see Hawaii. Twice we requested wake up calls and did not receive.Holland web site advertises Dutch Cafe 16 Dutch and Belgium beers with 4 on tap. DID NOT HAVE. Met with beverage manager his answer was they were ordered but not sent. Hard to believe a company as big as CARNIVAL{who owns holland} can't get what they order covid is over.
