So Disappointing

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Silver Whisper

This is a run down ship with tired and overworked employees. There’s no variety and limited spa and excursions. There’s little activity and the same experience everyday. We are a group of 5 and cannot wait to get off. Many others on the cruise feel the exact same way. We missed Icy Bay point/ Strait because we had a medical evacuation. We waited for over 2 hours for a boat and then another hour ...

Norwegian Sun Disaster

We chose this cruise specifically to see the Hubbard Glacier. The cruise was a huge disappointment from the start. Our balcony cabin was dirty when we arrived. Fingerprints/ handprints on the slider and full length mirror. Stained shower curtain that should have been replaced. Food was generally awful. My first dinner in the main dining room consisted of the world's smallest spinach salad, ...

First Viking Cruise.

My grandson (age 26) wanted to go to Alaska and we chose the Viking line. This was our first Viking experience although a good friend goes on back to back Viking cruises (even on the Polaris recently) and he highly recommends Viking and raves about the food. Our experience was different from his. The service and ship facilities were excellent. The food was lacking, I would rate it as ordinary ...

Terrible Service & Very Boring

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

I'm a diehard Celebrity Cruise line fan, but friends had booked this cruise months ago, so we decided to join them. It's been great being with them, but the cruise itself has been awful. We will never sail with Cunard again and will be telling anyone who asks me to avoid them like the plague. I'm going back to Celebrity and will never sail with another company (have also sailed with HAL and ...

Very Disappointing Cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

We chose this cruise because we could drive to the port of San Francisco. Ten day Alaska cruise. We had a balcony and the Premiere package. We have been on six previous cruises - Carnival, twice on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and this would be the second Princess. This is a long review - just too many disappointments in most areas. We were so disappointed with the service, food, ...

Poor Service

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Encore

We booked this as a family vacation. The vessel is amazing, too bad the service was not. Uncertain if it was a staffing issue, but the wait for any of the complimentary or A la carts dinners was extremely long. My wife and I ate at Cagney's steakhouse was waited two hours for our entrees. This was topic of discussion at many tables around us. We opted out of going to Onda for this reason. ...

Really bad experience from day one.

The first problem we had started before we got on the ship. Come to find out, if you don't choose your balcony, but let them do it, you will probably get a view of a lifeboat. That was not mentioned in the booking process. NEXT up, they deleted Skagway from the itinerary long long before we signed up, but when we booked it was still listed - when they already knew that was not going to be ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

Norwegian was unwilling to offer restitution in any way when contacted regarding our wretched experience with them. They eventually offered an onboard credit (useless since we will NEVER sail with them again) when we filed a BBB complaint. In an effort to prevent others from the same experience and financial disappointment, I am sharing my survey responses to NCL below: Part one: A top ...

A tourist rip off

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Baranof Dream

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 80s

The Baranof Dream is anything but a dream. This ship is 38 years old and its maximum speed is 10 mph. The engines are loud and shake the ship. There are no amenities. There is no cell or internet wifi except in the large ports. There is nothing to do for endless boring days while big cruise ships pass us by going in the same direction. They do not provide any board games or any other activities ...
