had the most day at sea for short cruise the ship is over all clean but it needs to be redone. The cabin sofa and chair need replaces old . Balcony needs complete remake floors , windows rails dirty rooms and public rooms all outdated. The food is awful they need a better quality of food on the daily portion of the menu chicken breast in a frozen chicken breast grill, awful. The breads at dinner main dinning room are to die for.The service we had in the pairs dinning room 1st seating table was great. Most everyone was helpful .I don't think I will not go on this ship again it was not one of my most fun and I have gone out of new Orleans twice and this will be my final time it is not the greatest port and the weather in feb is almost always bad cold or rainy.overall I give it a 3 stars Read Less

Absolute disaster trip. 1.) Purchased beverage package that included soda and cup - told when boarded that it wasn't included. 2.) Newsletter published superbowl betting and casino had no idea what was going on or how to do it. 3.) During Super Bowl, was served ice cold frozen chicken wings with no heating element underneath the wings. 4.) Got food poisoning from wings and stuck in room next 24 hours 5.) Complained and said they would remove tips, never did still charged. 6.) My roommate paid for his beverage package directly was charged, and not taken off portfolio as I was still billed. Horrible experience from day 1, nothing done by customer service to even reconcile anything during the trip. Will not be cruising with Royal again as they lost a once loyal patient who has been with them for over 10 years. Now its time to contact credit card company and show them that we already paid for the beverage package while on ship directly and have receipt. Read Less

We had an insurance conference. Sailed out of Mumbai till Cochin for 3 nights. From the welcome till departure everything was seamless. Thomas Cook employees were also coordinating with the Italian staff. We also had a lot of Indian staff to manage 300 of us. The main meal was a buffet in Al Fresco and we had a choice with Tivoli where we had a sit down dinner to be booked a day in advance. With the Piu Gusto card we were allowed to consume limited drinks and starters. Our Porthole room on the 6th floor was spacious and a comfortable bed and bathroom. My only regret was the dinner options were over at 9;30. So after the crazy parties we had each night we had no food to gorge on at the wee hours. I feel if they are serving alcohol, they should have an all night restaurant. The staff were always attentive, eager to serve us, even though the ship is old, it was the service that stood out. Carnival's web site, both before and after our cruise stated that parking was $17 a day at Long Beach, CA. However, parking was $19 a day. For long cruises, this could impact your choice of transportation. It should take less time to update a web site than to update signage and automation at the parking structure. In addition, we arrived early, and could only find parking on the top floor of the parking structure. We did not see any other reasonable options for parking. Good luck. We cruised on the Carnival splendor. The decor was the worst of any ship on any line that we have ever experienced. Decks 3 and 4 have no access from one end of the ship to the other, so one is far too frequently going to the other end of the ship to use just the right elevator to reach your destination. The only good ship's map was in the Carnival Hub app on my iPhone. We never found a single good printed map. However, if your iPhone is set to the wrong time zone, the Hub app will give you the wrong time of day while claiming to be a good reference for the time -- beware. Entertainment was good (with nice costumes for the ladies) provided that you liked music from the 80's -- each and every show had music from the 80's. Food was good, and our wait staff in the main dining room was superb (especially Stanislava from Bulgaria). For a ship with over 3,000 passengers, embarkation and disembarkation was well done. The cruise director, MarQ, did a great job of setting up and handling disembarkation, so we knew progress and could remain comfortably seated until we could get off Read Less

We did a last minute short cruise for Super Bowl Weekend and my birthday. The vibe was fun, crew warm and welcoming and excellent service. Food in the dining rooms and the service were very good. We like free style cruising so there is no need to dress up but many people do. Knowing this was a short cruise, our expectations were not high. Entertainment was not great but the games were a lot of fun. Dancing and party atmosphere were great. This is not a cruise for kids...there is not much for them to do. So mostly couples of all ages on=board. Super Bowl was fun. Four watching venues with special buffets in the viewing areas. The ship is super clean, the inside cabin was small but clean and comfy and we spend most of our time outside the cabin anyway. This cruise had two stops. Did not make it to Great Stirrup Cay due to weather so we left early and did an over-nighter in Nassau. Nassau is nothing great so be sure to book an excursion. This is our 4th Norwegian cruise. WE have been on others but always come back to NCL because we enjoy the included drink package and we always have a fun time. We are in our 60's but young at heart. Read Less

Had a great start to our trip with Cocoa Beach Shuttle despite our late arrival into MCO, and a good night's sleep. That's about the last good thing I have to say. I will not go on this ship again. The interior layout of the ship and the ventilation system caused most of the public spaces any where near the atrium to feel of smoke from the casino, which was filled with smokers due to the inadequate and totally exposed smoking areas outside. I use a mobility scooter and was restricted to using the Lido deck to go outside because there were no doors I could get through on my own because there were no automatic doors. The Lido buffet was tiny and the staff (except one) was far more interested in socializing than being helpful. The Cucina del Capitan might have been good but we didn't try it because it smelled so strongly of the JiJi Asian restaurant. The staff in the main dining rooms were attentive. We were delayed in our arrivals in several ports for no apparent reason (sitting in the sea for several hours) and had to cancel several day's shore excursions. I won't mention the ongoing sewer problems in the 6th deck forward. From the mildew and mold smells this won't be fixed until she goes to drydock. Don't bring a Service Animal on this ship. Some off the tiniest cabins I've ever seen. Read Less

We were a group of 23 all ladies group, we partied morning, the vibe aboard the ship was awesum. The bar staff were very ill mannered and down right crappy, crabby people with no hospitality skills what so ever. The showers are a bit of a bummer , way to small but we managed to get by. The guys servicing the cabins were super efficient . In particular Barry servicing 7172 he was so professional in his job, and delivers an outstanding service his a definite asset to this cruise ship. The food was ok , and plenty, the restaurant staff at 11 Covo Dining room and chief in charge Ginaro and his team were the bomb, they treated us like queens, a mighty big thank you to all of them with heaps of love.. The rest was just fun, fun, fun. I do it again and again and again.. Sadly we didn't get to go to the islands due to poor weather conditions , but that didn't damper our spirits the entertainment on board was good. Read Less

We decided to take the kids and the grand kids on a Disney cruise. I was a little apprehensive about what to expect and how the little ones would react to the cruising experience. Not to worry, we all had a good time. The Dream is a large ship and it is very nicely maintained. The cabin was spotless and the public spaces are well kept. Disney has a good idea about rotational dining. We ate in a different restaurant each of the 3 nights and our wait staff moved with us. We particularly liked the Animators Palate as the pictures on the walls became animated and the characters in Nemo entertained us throughout dinner. You should make sure to see this. The Disney food was excellent in the dining rooms. Cabanas is the name of the buffet. It was typical cruise buffet except there were a couple of upgrades to their food, namely the crab claws and shrimp at lunch. We tried the Aquaduck water slide and it was a lot of fun. Put this on your to do list if you do this cruise. There was an adult pool and hot tub area without kids if you want a little serenity. The kids pool area was mobbed and the pools too small. Service from the host (room steward) and main restaurant wait staff was outstanding. They really go out of their way to make sure you are enjoying your meals and your cabin. They paid a lot of attention to the kids and this was appreciated. The ship stops at Nassau and this is not one of my favorite ports. We did not do an excursion. The ship has better things going on. The Disney private island was much better than expected and superior to other cruise lines islands. We stayed at the family beach as there were kids with us. I would have liked to see the adult beach, it was probably less crowded. Disney did a nice job with embarking and disembarking. We did not experience delays. 12:30 is a good time to get on board. We left the ship carrying off our own luggage. I wish it could have been a little later than 7:00 A.M. Would I go again? Probably. My wife is a Disney disciple. She would go again in a heartbeat. The biggest negative of the cruise was the price. A few months ago, I took a 7 night Royal Caribbean cruise on the Allure of the Seas for less money than the 3 night Disney cruise. Although I did enjoy the Disney cruise, I didn't see twice the value. Read Less

First time cruiser, travelled with husband and daughter on this 3 night sampler cruise. Cabin was great (review below). Embarkation was a bit confused initially - enormous crowd around the entrance to the terminal and no-one knew what was going on. They were calling floors to embark but couldn't hear what was being said - they really needed a loudspeaker/PA. Eventually heard our deck called and went through. Clear sailing from then on including expedited boarding due to the junior suite (this was the only suite privilege we got). On board 10mins later. Went to Izuma restaurant on the first night. Great view/service and food was quite good (fantastic miso soup, good sushi/sashimi, not so good gyoza). Windjammer for breakfast/lunch was reasonable, not great. Went to main (Sapphire) dining room the 2nd night which was ok (I'm quite fussy so thats not as faint praise as it might seem). Chops Grille on last night which had a real feeling of luxury. Fantastic view and service. Steak was great too however was let down by tasteless mac&cheese (no cheese!) and rancid tasting Bearnaise :-(. Went on the behind the scenes tour which covered the bridge, engine control room, galley and gave a chance to understand crew life - very interesting and worth doing. Had the beverage package - if you drink wine, esecially the nice stuff, be aware that the wines available at the bars are very limited. The good wines are only available in the Sapphire/Chops Grille (and possibly Giovannis), and only by the bottle which means that you are paying 60% of the cost. So factor that in when deciding whether beverage package the right choice. Tried to to register daughter at kids club on the first night @6pm when the notices said it would be open - at 6:20pm there was a large group of us outside the kids club banging on the door - no-one there. The guys from the videa arcade rang someone who told them KC wasn't opening until 6:30. Left as tired of waiting and daughter then refused to go back. My main gripes would be;- - the music round the pool was ridiculously loud - I mean OTT. I also didn't like the music for most of the time, but even when I did like it (they played some ok electonic/techno for a while) it was too loud for a family area. Maybe play some chill-out quieter for most of the day and then crank it up after 4pm? - smoking are immediately adjacent to the pool deck on starboard side - Yuck Overall the service was very good - a few staff members whose English was really not good which made it difficult, but almost everyone cheerful and friendly, said hello/good morning/afternoon. VoTS is not a very exciting boat for kids I think - it was fine for a short cruise like ours but not enough for kids to do - need water slides (I would like water slides too :-)), but overall this was good and I'd recommend for singles/couple without kids.
