The embarkation at Civitavecchia was a shambles, none of the computers at check in were working when we arrived and after almost an hour one or two came on line. There were no announcements as to what was the problem, nor any indication as to how long we would be standing in line to embark. we were near the front of the queue but were standing for over an hour. No word of apology was offered by anyone at the time or when a complaint was sent to Regent, no explanation was given. The staff are superb and the food, apart from the buffet at lunch, is very good. Prime 7 can be a little hit or miss. AT Venice, the festival that has been held for over 200 years seemed to take Regent by surprise and we moved berths to an industrial area where it was impossible to leave the ship. This was most disappointing. In taking up both issues with Regent in Florida we were told " sorry " not our problem ! The Regent ships are good, the staff excellent, the cabins a bit tired, but the public areas after recent renovation are excellent. The staff at head office need to smell the coffee and be more user friendly. Read Less

My husband and I celebrated our 35th anniversary with a Baltic cruise. We decided to go with regent. We were not disappointed in anyway. We can't splurge too often to sail on regent but when we can we will. The service, food, excursions were exceptional. If I needed something, i put a notepn the door in the morning and it was in our suite by the afternoon. The walk-in closet and the bathroom were impressive. From start to finish, we were pleased . A few tips are: 1 - if you stay at the scandic hotel - bring a washcloth and a travel clock since this Danish hotel doesn't include them. The breakfast buffet was varied and tasty. 2 - Pre-book your reservations at the specialty restaurants since they are small and really worth eating there. 3 - go from Stockholm to Copenhagen. Copenhagen wasn't as appealing. I would have preferred ts spend time in clean Stockholm. 4 - we paid the extra money for the airline since we had certain wants. After speaking to others, it was well worth the extra cost. Read Less

This cruise through the Panama Canal was our third with Regent and second time on the Navigator. The first cruise to the eastern Caribbean on the Voyageur was wonderful. The excursions were excellent (in particular the catamaran at St. Barts). The second cruise to the Amazon was amazing. We loved Terry Breen's enrichment lectures, the mixologist, and the exotic shore excursions. This time was very different. I was ill twice with gastrointestinal issues which lasted several days. This was an 18 day cruise and I was ill the second day into the cruise and again 7 days later. The food was mediocre with the exception of Prime 7. Their tres leche was particularly amazing. Compass Rose had a pasta choice at dinner, and since I prefer vegetarian fare I ordered pasta several times. It lacked ingredients (vegetables were very sparse) and in my view having pasta on the menu with sparse ingredients was a way for corporate to save money. The desserts were very small and unimaginative. The wines were ok, but since I was ill twice, I limited my alcohol intake. I ordered fish several times, and the Branzini was excellent in Setti Marti, but the cod was awful at Compass Rose. The wait staff were all very good in general, but several times at dinner the room was very hot and the meal took several hours. The wait staff got way behind on several nights. Our room temperature was problematic. The room was either way too hot or too cold. The excursions were awful. We had a major problem at Puerto Chiapas, Mexico. The tour guides were 16-year olds and obviously very inexperienced. We waited over 45 minutes in 90 degree heat for the tour to start. Several in our party refused to wait and returned to the ship by taxi. Once the tour did start, most of the guides had been on the job for only two or three days and did not know much about the mangroves. The area was filled with garbage and infested with mosquitoes ostensibly from recent rains. On the way back to the ship, the bus was late and we waited again in the heat for another 45-60 minutes. Several people were quite elderly and I was concerned for their health. They asked for and were provided with chairs. Additionally, at every port, we were followed by the Norwegian Jewel. We understood we waited 45-minutes at Puerto Chiapas for our tour to begin because the Norwegian Jewel arrived earlier so their guests were taken on the tour first. Everyone complained to Regent about this tour. I expected reimbursement or additional on-board credits. We received nothing from Regent. We were told by the front desk that corporate was aware of the issue. The all inclusive value proposition is only a good value when the shore excursions are first rate. These excursions were not any different than those offered by other cruise lines and were not worth the up front money that Regent expects passengers to pay. Puerto Chiapas was not the only poor excursion. The Costa Rican train ride was another poor excursion, but somewhat more tolerable due to the excellent guide. In summary, I question the value: Mediocre food Terrible choice of shore excursions and possibly not vetted Room temperature a problem On the positive side: Terry Bishop provided excellent and entertaining enrichment lectures The staff especially at Compass Rose was very good The entertainment was good Read Less

I was ready to write a review of my cruise on February 11, '13 from Singapore to Hong Kong when I read the very well written review by theshoo. It was exactly our cruise experience, with different destinations. We chose this cruise line over Oceania based on the included 4 day pre-cruise excursion to Angkor Wat. As I read theshoo's review to my husband, we were amazed by the similar experiences, albeit in different cities. Our tour was mismanaged and falsely presented. There were over 200 people, broken up into 9 tour buses, several hotels, different airline destinations. As with theshoo's tour, every bus had different tours and different problems. We literally flew half way around to world to see Angkor Wat, only to get there one hour before they closed. I could go on, but it's easier to just say "right on, theshoo". From the pre-cruise package, to the shore excursions, to the size of the spa, we are in agreement. Perhaps if they charged for the pre-cruise and all shore excursions it would have been better and the tours less crowded. We hadn't cruised on Regent for 10 years, when they were Radissen. We loved their ship the Diamond. When that ship went, we moved to Oceania. We have sailed 5 times with them, once with Seabourn and twice with Royal Caribbean. We really like the Oceania ships better, the spa is much bigger, and the staterooms newer and nicer. However, the cruise was good, the employees were superior, and the stateroom was very nice. I did enjoy the BRIDGE lessons, and we felt the entertainment was very good. However, it is a shame that all conversations throughout the cruise were on the bad pre-cruise excursion. We did complain to our travel agent, who forwarded our concerns on to Regent. They offered us $400 toward another cruise. It was a nice offer, but we are going back to Oceania for our future cruising. Read Less

Our first Regent cruise. Had sailed to Alaska on the Silversea Silver Shadow in 2011 and were very impressed with the incredible, seamless service there , but opted to try Regent this year for our anniversary Adriatic/Meditteranean cruise for 2 reasons: 1) the itinerary and length of the cruise matched our interests more than what Silversea offered, and 2) we liked the idea of an "elegant casual" dress code on all nights on Regent, instead of the greater formality of Silversea dress codes. We were not disappointed on the dress code, as passengers made efforts to look nice for dinner without having to fuss with tuxedos and gowns. Overall the cruise was good to very good, but not as flawless as our Silversea experience (as our cruising experience is limited, perhaps we had been lucky, and perhaps Silversea also has more problems in 2012 than they did in 2011). Food in the main restaurants was abundant and visually nicely presented, but overall was not gourmet (except in Prime 7) . Service in the main restaurants included intermittent episodes of lines, confused waiters, waiters who incessantly interrupted conversations, and/or snatched plates away when we were not finished, and not uncommonly there were communication problems. The sommeliers were outstanding and very helpful, a delight (we used our concierge level 25% discount on wine list wines several times as the daily free wines were not up to our standards much of the time; last year on Silversea, they were). When we were on Silversea each suite had its own butler, which at the time we thought was unnecessary and over the top for us (we are professionals in our 50's and are used to doing a lot of things ourselves). So this trip we had booked a butler-free E suite on Regent Voyager but with an upgrade to "concierge" level, thinking we did not really need our own butler but could enjoy early reservations for preferred tours. But in hindsight getting the concierge level was not worth it. Except for one tour (Corfu 4x4 -- see below) we would have gotten all the tours we wanted to do anyway without paying extra in advance. The "special gift" that came with concierge level was a joke plastic tote bag with a Regent logo, and the pre-departure "upgraded" hotel was the Hilton Molino Stuckey with a standard room without any view, looking out to the back of the building with nothing to see, it was just a basic clean place to sleep, not centrally located as you still had to water-taxi into the main part of Venice). It would have been better to either go all out and get a penthouse suite with a butler, or alternatively just get the cheapest suite available. We really noticed the difference between having a butler who knows our unique needs and just having a "steward" button to press for whatever random person would answer the phone. Also be aware that the in room "coffeemaker" is not a normal coffeemaker but a big clunky espresso machine with no instructions, though we eventually figured it out. If you want real coffee and not espresso in the morning right when you wake up and do not want to leave your room (or drink the awful coffee they will deliver to you with room service), you should bring along your own portable coffeemaker and supplies. Or, perhaps if you have a willing butler (or a husband :), you could talk him into going to the coffee corner for you right when you wake up to get you decent coffee, but there are typically long AM lines there for obvious reasons. We did have a couple unpleasant major incidents that soured our experience: 1) an encounter with a rude, arrogant ship's doctor (details omitted here and I have complained to Regent about her unprofessionalism), and 2) an episode in La Veranda half-way through the cruise where we got seated at a nice-looking aft table that for some reason then started shaking so badly (calm seas around) that we became nauseated (other tables were not shaking like that); the place was so busy and understaffed that it took well over 20 minutes to get anyone to pay attention to our hand waving and also articulated requests to change tables. The water girl had said she would all her "manager" but no one appeared; the wine guy ran off and did not bring anyone to help; the waiter did not seem to understand what the issue was and was busy doing other things; finally , by the time we got anyone to listen (by physically getting up and starting over as if we were new arrivals at the front of the restaurant), all other tables were taken. We landed up having our already ordered entrees sent to our suite, where subsequent service was non-existent and we were too tired to hastle to try and get additional service. Pre-departure arrangements by Regent went well, no complaints -- we used the airfare deviations to get business class routes we wanted, and we got our organized departure documents without problems. Regent had declined to provide us with any suggestions on pre-cruise touring of Venice, so in addition to walking around on our own (and getting lost), we found a pre-departure "Hidden Venice" inexpensive walking tour for a couple hours the morning of departure run by viator.com ( a delightful, educational guide named Maria). Transport from the airport in Venice to the hotel by water taxi was pleasant, we were met at he airport as we expected to be. Embarkation at the port of Venice was smooth and uncrowded, no hastles. PORTS AND EXCURSIONS -- 1) the area and ports on the cruise are almost all interesting and beautiful (which is what we came for), but the quality of the local guides was variable (e.g., one told off-color sexist jokes and could not have cared less about whether or not guests needed a toilet; others told interesting and inciteful stories and were sensitive to customer needs, such as directing toilet location) 2) Some of the excursions had so many people on them that we not uncommonly felt like herded cattle on Holland America in the 1980's (e.g., trying to get 38 people through a small winery tour, e.g., on the Lucca wine tasting our, was not conducive to asking questions or feeling special and unhurried). The difference between a ship with 380 passengers on Silversea vs almost twice as many passengers on the Voyager was apparent. Likely the "free" excursions also led to increased attendance of excursions and crowding by casual guests who would not have gone if they had had to pay extra -- ANCONA -- the first port, and a loser port. We drove quite a way to a church we were not allowed to tour once we got there due to unexpected services, and the only toilets were dirty "squat" toilets. Glad I was not wearing sandals. Instead of walking down the scenic hill into the village as described in the excursion brochure, we were simply re- bussed. The second stop was a village with one view spot of water belowand not much else, one open cafe that had some basic packaged snacks and a welcome though hidden toilet. In hindsight we should have slept in, skipped this port, and gotten more settled in on the ship to get over our jet lag. --DIVINE DALMATION COASTLINE AND WINE TASTING -- pretty views, cute though hoaky olive oil production tour (the old horse driving the mill was just for the tourists), then an ok but not great lunch of raw oysters and so-so risotto and a tour of a winery that had a big build-up but not very good wine. We then walked Dubrovnik on our own, wished we had allocated more time. Do not miss walking the town and its fortress! -- TOWN OF KOTOR AND BAY OF KOTOR HERITAGE, including a tour of an island church and the town of Perast with time for a break. Learned some Montenegran history and about the bombardment of Dubrovnik by Serbs and Montonegrans. Had an excellent young lady guide (forgot her name). We also walked Kotor afterwards, ship was parked right in town. A very satisfying excursion. -- EXPLORE CORFU BY 4X4 -- much tamer than it sounded, no off-roading, just driving up twisty roads with beautiful views following the guide, lead driver. No really dangerous turns or bumpy roads but must drive manual transmission and be comfortable having another potentially rowdy guest party in the car doing half the driving. Tasty snack in the village of Sokraki (bad wine, good meze). Excellent guide who had lived in Whales and spoke English with a Whales accent, gave us insights on Greek politics. Pleasant stop with clean toilets at the top at the friendly cafe "The Golden Fox" in Lakones --HIDDEN SICILIY -- IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE GODFATHER. Should have remained hidden, unless you are a big Godfather fan and must see the church where the wedding was filmed. Not enough time to get something to eat for lunch in the pizzeria the guide sent us to after the walking tour, which was what appeared to be the only open cafe (only 25 minutes to order, eat and pay, and the cafe was overwhelmed by the crush of too many people in the group all coming in at the same time). By the time people got their food they had to wolf it down in just a couple minutes. There's an osteria around the corner that turned out also to be open and seemed to have a quick-cafe option , but we were not told about it, found it too late. --POSITANO AND LUNCH AT RISTORANTE QUATTRO PASSI. Positano is a colorful scenic crowded tourist town which has beautiful drives to get to it. Had a couple amazingly flavorful creamy desserts and pastry in an outdoor garden sitting area at La Zagara on the main drag (better than any dessert on the ship the whole cruise). Then it was off to a Michelin 2-star restaurant which has a beautiful view and cool, comfortable dining room with stunning architecture and even clean toilets. We were first given a hurried five-minute tour of the wine cellar and tackily shown a $20,000 bottle of wine for people to pose next to and take pictures of (!!) and then the group was ushered into the beautiful dining room and served mediocre food with mediocre bread in several small courses . There was only one wine accompanying all of the bland but ceremoniously presented Stouffers-like food courses (it was a 7 Euro retail bottle of white wine that tasted like jug wine). We were not given an opportunity to upgrade or order anything better, as the time required for that would not have fit into the hurried and pre-organized feeding of the crowd. I doubt the restaurant got its 2-start Michelin rating by serving the food and wine we were given for the tour (for our $169 supplementary fee) and was very disappointed in the meal, though people near us from the south and midwest who live in areas where they are not surrounded by gourmet restaurants and wonderful wineries oohed and aahed at the food a lot and seemed impressed, so we were definitely in the minority (seemed like an "emperor has no clothes" phenomenon to us). At the end of the meal the waiter showed us a cookbook from the restaurant that he was trying to sell. SCENIC RAVELLO -- delightful, uncrowded, relaxing, great guide, toured Villa Rufolo (until the free time at the end, toilet access and time issues were as usual, unfortunately) LIVORNO/HILLS OF LUCCA AND WINE TASTING -- Livorno is a big, busy industrial port, the ship docked right in the middle of a view of cranes, containers, and real work being done, which we actually enjoyed watching. The excursion was a long drive on a bus without a toilet (none of the excursion buses had toilets) to a pleasant winery in the Montecarlo region (Buonamico) with decent affordable wines (we ordered a couple cases shipped to us in California). Only problem is there were 38 people on this excursion (which was free), not counting the guide on the bus and at the winery, so it was a challenge to get everyone together to hear the winery tour guide speak while on the cellars tour with its narrow corridors. It also resulted in a big crowd bunching up like hungry dogs at the luncheon buffet, where excellent prosciutto and cheese and olive oil was served with the good wine. PORTOFINO AND SANTA MARGHERITA -- last but not least, gorgeous. We also had enough free time at the end in Santa Margherita (returned to tenders on your own) to eat an unhurried full lunch in port , at Ristorante Da Michele, look for the pink tablecloths set up in an outside cafe down the main drag away from the sea (Largo Amendola 17), with exquisitely prepared regional cuisine, service-oriented waiters (there are reviews on tripadvisor). I wished I could take their chef with us onto the ship. Earlier in the day a problem was that between congregation in the constellation lounge, tendering, and hiking up the hill to the church and lighthouse, there was no toilet time (no toilets at the church or lighthouse after the big hike uphill, and the luxury bar half-way up was not yet open to go buy a 10 Euro cup of coffee in and use the facilities). After the cruise, we had a rental car previously lined up on the internet with Eurocar instead of going with the big groups to the hotels in Rome. It was quite the challenge to get to the Eurocar office in Civitavecchia and the ship's reception area was not at all helpful in properly directing us on how to get there ( we would have called and paid for a taxi, but as we were told taxis are not allowed to come right up to the ship and they are officially in "short supply", and no one at the front of the port terminal from Regent seemed to know or care what we should do, we asked a local standing around and found out we had to take the port shuttle . The shuttle was not equipped to properly hold luggage and the driver did not help with your luggage from the ship to the end of the port, not his job. Then we had to figure out how to get the additional 300-500 meter distance to the rental office with our awkward luggage on a bumpy surface. Had to be off the ship at 9 and Eurocar was only scheduled to be opened for a half hour starting 10:30 on a Sunday . So we waited around in this seedy part of town for someone to show up. After filling out paperwork for our care, the personnel locked up and disappeared before we had all our equipment in the car set up, such as a the prebooked "navigation system" which was just a TomTom in a box set up for Italian which we then had to figure out). Turned out there were 3 other parties from the ship trying to do the same thing, e.g.,go to Eurocar, surely there could have been a way of having Regent to assist with coordinating the parties in a van or taxi! One man said Eurocar had assured him of a 9AM pickup, but no one appeared at the office until 10AM, so beware if you disembark on a Sunday. Another party convinced the port shuttle driver to take them the extra 300 meters with their luggage. After we got off the port shuttle we were sweaty from hauling luggage on and off and uncertain how to procede so we paid a likely illegal moonlighter in an unmarked car the 20 Euro he asked to take us the "3 km" (it was less) to Eurocar. IN SUM, we had a good but not perfect cruise. Service on the ship was good but not perfect, it was very clean, and personnel were generally eventually responsive to our needs, but each day seemed to have one issue or another that was disconcerting, some more so than others.We are unsure if we will sail with Regent again (at this time we would be inclined to go back to Silversea, so as to avoid the crowds and the subtle and not so subtle service issues described above -- though perhaps they have also changed in the last year!). We sent our comments to Regent and are posting them here to share with others so Regent can consider improving where possible, and so others can enjoy and plan accordingly. We wish you all pleasant future journeys, and regardless of our relatively minor complains, we feel privileged to have been able to enjoy this beautiful part of the world in luxury. We were cruise virgins & went on this cruise with some ambivalence. We went with several other couples, all of whom were new to cruising. I was concerned because of a couple of negative reviews that were posted here after we had signed on to the cruise. Bottom line: we loved it, as did all our friends!! The level of service was impeccable. The staff on board practically stood on their heads to make us all comfortable & happy. Every person with whom we dealt was pleasant & accommodating. The wine was surprisingly good, the food excellent, the service delightful. Cleanliness was maintained fastidiously. Even the fresh flowers in the room & in the public spaces were a delight. The excursions were fabulous and, without exception, our guides were great fun. We hiked, kayaked, rafted, took float planes, saw bears, seals, whales, eagles, & calving glaciers. It was a fabulous trip. That was the unanimous opinion, and, by the way, this is a group that included oenophiles & gourmet cooks. To the complainers who posted previously, I cannot imagine how hard it is to please you in life & I wish you good luck. To the rest of you, I heartily recommend this cruise. It was worth every penny. Following is our review of our recent (July 11-18) Baltic cruise on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager: Perspective and Context. First, we are not seasoned cruisers. This was our fourth cruse and our first cruise with Regent. That being said, we have traveled extensively in Europe and always go first class so our evaluation of food, service and accommodations is from that perspective. Second, we are booked on the World Cruise so this was, among other things, a "test flight" for that cruise. Third, as some commenter's have already noted, it was brutally hot (and we are from Houston) and unfortunately, though no fault of Regent, the heat may be our lasting impression. The Voyager. Very simply, we loved the Voyager; almost everything about it. Our suite (Category C) was very thoughtfully designed, down to the smallest details. It seemed very spacious, more than the 306 sq. ft. would suggest, due in part to this attention to detail. The Voyager sailed completely full; we were told there were 733 guests in all including third persons in some suites. But, you wouldn't know it. It didn't seem full. They don't herd cattle on the Voyager. We never had to wait long for an elevator and, as often as not, we were the only ones in the cab. We never waited for a table in the Compass Rose or the Veranda for longer than two minutes. We were immediately seated in Prime 7 and Signatures even though we arrived early. Embarkation, disembarkation and group tours were a breeze. Regent has definitely "figured it out" in this respect and everything went off without a hitch. Embarkation took maybe ten minutes and disembarkation less. As for the Constellation Theater, We typically arrived five minutes before the nightly show and we never had a problem being seated in a good location. The Restaurants. We thought the restaurants were uniformly very good to excellent. We dined at Prime Seven and Signatures once each, the Veranda twice and the remainder of our meals were taken in the Compass Rose. We did not try room service. While we enjoyed both Prime 7 and Signatures, we enjoyed the Compass Rose more. The service in all of the restaurants was excellent; the menus were more varied in the Compass Rose and the food just as good. We did not experience any delays or stressed-out service issues that have been occasionally mentioned in the comments. Service. The service level was, in our opinion, uniformly outstanding. I have never seen so many smiles. You could literally not sit down without someone putting a drink and canapEs in front of you. We were so impressed with the Butler service that we upgraded our World cruise to a Butler cabin. Our observations regarding "Issues" in the Comments: Service Levels. Obviously we cannot compare previous service levels to the service we experienced. I can only say that the service level we experienced, without exception, exceeded our expectations and was much higher than many of the five-star hotels we have stayed in. Children on Board. Yes, there were children of all ages on board, not many but more than a few. In our opinion this is a non-issue. Without exception, they were well mannered and behaved and Curmudgeon that I am, cannot image that they adversely affected anyone's cruise experience. Captain Dag. Okay, I admit that this was a seven day cruise, that there was no opportunity to bond with the crew and that we may have a different opinion after the world cruise. That being said, I find it hard to understand the attention this issue has received, how it somehow makes a huge statement with regard to "the state of Regent "or why it would have any impact on anyone's cruise decision. Who may be the captain of the Voyager during the world cruise does not even register on our radar. The "Vibration". Well, there is a vibration in the aft and it is noticeable. After the first night, I heard some guests were requesting a room change but of course the ship was full. We both adjusted to the vibration very easily and after the first night we were pretty much lulled into the rhythm of the ship and had no trouble sleeping. Since we are booked in virtually the identical cabin on the WC, we made the decision that it was not a problem for us but I can also see why it may be a problem for some. The Food. This is so subjective it is really hard to comment on and again we are not privileged to have cruised on Regent in "the good old days". If you are expecting asparagus ice cream or other cutting edge culinary creations, you are probably going to be disappointed. If you enjoy a wide range of fairly traditional well prepared menu items, you will probably be pleased. Park West. Regent is aggressively promoting Park West to the point that they were interviewing its art experts on the Regent TV channel. This may be a contractual obligation. Laundry/dry cleaning service. We used this service multiple times because we brought the wrong clothes (due to the heat). The service was prompt and the quality was excellent. There were no delays whatsoever. Entertainment. We were a bit disappointed that there was no "name" entertainers scheduled but the performances by the Regent singers and dancers was excellent. We particularly enjoyed their original production of "Sailing through Broadway". And, the review put on by Regent crew members was energetic and lots of fun. We were surprised that the attendance level of the shows was so low, only once exceeding 50% of capacity. This could be due to this cruise being somewhat of a 'forced march" through six ports in seven days. With the heat, jet lag and full-day tours, it was hard to stay awake for the 9:45 show starting time. Relative Cost. I am not going to enter the cost-benefit debate of Regent as compared to other cruise lines. Other commenter's have done so exhaustively. I will only say what a pleasure it is to have a relaxing vacation and never open your wallet; to never sign a chit for a tour or for anything else save the shops and casino of course; to never have to pay for a drink or to pay a surcharge to dine at a premium restaurant. And, it was nice to not worry about who to tip and how much. We did make a contribution to the crew welfare fund in lieu of a tip, but this is strictly voluntary (and, unfortunately in our opinion, this option is not even mentioned by Regent). How much value one places on these intangibles is a personal and financial decision, but to us it was worth quite a lot. Tours. I won't comment on individual tours except to say that if you are planning a trip to St. Petersburg and can afford the cost, taking a private tour is well worth it. Critique. Internet Connectivity. Internet connectivity was slow and unreliable. This was not a particular concern on a seven day cruise but is very concerning to us on a WC length cruise where communications, investment management and bill-paying is critical. TV; Channel Selection. This was a real disappointment both in selection and quality. We only had access to Fox news, CNN international and Euro sports (that, on our cruise, was obsessed with reporting about grown men riding bicycles). My question is: if they can receive the Fox News and CNN International broadcasts, why not ESPN, CNN Domestic or the myriad of other available satellite channels. Again, not a problem on a seven day cruise but on the WC with many sea days, it is an issue to us. As for as quality, there is no HDTV and the picture is fuzzy at best. Note to Regent: you can get flat screen TV's with high definition broadcasts at Holiday Inns. Read Less

We are long time users of the Regent line, and many times a cruiser, this Regent cruise will be the last. Apart from the racial prejudice of Regent between American and British guests, which we will come to later, there is something lacking from the old Raddison line way of doing things. Regent have just not got it. Whether or Regent are still a 6star line, as Regent boast, we have our doubts, the cabins are looking tired, they need a spruce up, and updating. The food seems to be cheaper, poorer quality, we have had exactly the same type of food, and service, as 4star lines we have been on. You are expected to pay 2.5 times the cost of a 4star line and we do not think that Regent warrants the extra cost. But the real gripe is the bias that Regent have between their American guests and their British ones. We flew into Miami at the start of the cruise, Regent forgot passengers, and some were left for 5 hours at Miami airport waiting for transportation to the overnight hotels, some passengers made their own way, at their own cost. Regent did provide $200 on board credit for these passengers, which we felt was totally inadequate. Come to the end of the cruise and for disembarkation at Iceland to go to the airport. We had delivered to our cabin on the Wednesday, a form which stated that Air /Cruise passengers would receive complimentary transport with a panoramic tour ending at the airport in time to get our flights. As Regent had booked our flights and our cruise we expected to be the Air/Cruise clients that the form referred to, not a bit of it. The Air/Cruise clients only applied to Americans. As British Air/Cruise clients we had to pay $139 each. This was only told to us on the Sunday, after a meeting with the General Manager who said he would try to get it sorted out, he said on the Monday that we had to pay, just two days before we disembarked. We do not think he did anything, as the charge to our account was shown as the Sunday. When I spoke with the tours supervisor, Katja Bross, she said that it only applied to American clients, I pointed out that we were Regent Air/Cruise clients also, and why did it not apply to us, the Brits. She agreed that it was racially discriminatory, and the General Manager, after a meeting with him, also agreed that it was racially discriminatory, but when asked why the Brits are discriminated against, he could not answer. So Regent WHY do you discriminate against the Brits? I have been fortunate to travel on four cruises this year and when the travel agent recommended the Seven Seas Mariner, I was excited and yet questioned the reason for the cost of such a luxurious cruise to Alaska. Our travel agent explained the reason for choosing this high end ship in Alaska and when my husband and I finished the cruise we added up the costs and found we had only payed a few hundred dollars more for a 6 star ship and that isn't even comparing apples to apples, because we didn't include comparing it to a suite on a 4.5 or 5 star ship or the tips that go along with those cruises. To start Alaska is the most fabulous place you could ever visit!!!! The beauty is incomparable along with the expanse of the territory that goes on seemingly forever. To see Glaciers up close and wild life that is out in the wilderness is all spectacular. This cruise was excellent not only because of the experience and astounding beauty, but also because the ship was wonderful. There is no tipping and you would never know it - everyone is pleasant and goes out of their way to make your life easier without being in your face. Waiters in the dining room wait on you eagerly and bring wine and cocktails freely. The ship's standard wines are above average and are excellent. You can upgrade your wine of course, but it isn't necessary. The cabin stewards are excellent and provide service quickly and efficiently so as not to bother you if you are catching a quick nap. The food in all the restaurants was excellent and prepared to order. Only one night did our party of 10 register a complaint about a steak overly cooked and it was quickly replaced. Room service was excellent and our children used it frequently for midnight meals and frequently requested items without difficulty that weren't even on the 24 hour room service menu. My husband and I used room service for excellent breakfasts that were completely set up with silver and place settings by the server, Fresh fruit was set in the room daily as well as the restocking of our mini bar refrigerator. Daily afternoon tea was enjoyed by a few people in our party and cappucino machines and tea service was available throughout the ship.The excursions make this cruise a winner. They are fabulous, but also make this ship an excellent value as they are included in the cost (for the most part, at least). Excursions and tours involving sea planes, helicopters, and dog sledding, and some fishing/ boating experiences require you to pay a fee that is on average anywhere from $39.00 to $149.00. They are subsidized by the cruise line and herein lies the savings. Usually a helicopter/ dog sledding on a glacier tour costs $650 - $800.00 per person so you can see how this is a wonderful deal and if you were on a line where you only paid a $500.00 per person  for the cruise you probably wouldn't even schedule such trips since they cost more than the cruise and you certainly would lose out. You can not see the true beauty and expanse of Alaska from just visiting the typical ports of call - Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, Sitka, Seward,and Anchorage. You must travel a bit inland to get the full UNFORGETABLE experience. The ports of call were also not to be missed and shopping in the towns for Alaskan trinkets, furs if your pocketbook allows and jewelry is not to be missed. The excursions were  fabulous with great service and truley fantastic people from the bus drivers to the helicopter pilots, everyone was akin to the Regent Seven Seas excellence of service. Excursions not to be missed include: Misty Fyjords sea planes, Tracey Arm Cruising, Helicopter ride to Mendenhal Glacier with visit to a mushing camp and dog sledding. Fishing for king salmon or halibut,ziplining, and ocean rafting. There are other experiences available, so don't delay and sign up for your excursions early. There are many more that we did as well in our family of four. Everything was well organized and getting off the ship at any time was easy without a long wait. With only 700 passengers on average everything is much easier including embarkation and disembarkation. Don't miss the train trip from Seward to Anchorage (before or after depending on your embarkation)  where you travel in domed cars for a 31/2 hour to 4 hour trip. The train is an excellent way to see more of the Alaskan wilderness and wildlife such as bears. moose and eagles are frequently seen. Last week the train stopped for the birthing of a moose calf right next to the tracks.Also, don't miss some type of boating excursion where you get to see the glorious mountain ranges and tributaries connecting seemingly unending waterways. You can see them a bit differently from a smaller vessel and you will enjoy seeing whales and their calves on a guaranteed whale watching tour.Make sure you don't forget lots of long underwear to layer and water proof jackets or you will be heading to town to find anything warm.  A scarf, hat, sunglasses, binoculars (not absolutely necessary), gloves are essential to your warmth at certain times of the day or when touring a glacier. A poncho is nice to have for some experiences too. We participated in so many excursions that we didn't go to any of the shows, so I cannot comment on that. The casino was small but held a fair number of regulars and was enjoyed by all. Bingo was well attended and the prizes were always nice, considering the number of players the payout was much more than the larger ships that have hundreds in attendance and pay out less than a $100 on a given win. The laundry rooms were usually busy and sometimes a machine was out of order, but quickly got repaired and for that I was surprised. Don't take a chance to be disappointed, go on this ship for a fabulous experience.I highly recommend this cruise ship and itenerary, you won't be disappointed if you book now. Read Less

After 14 days onboard the SEVEN SEAS MARINER, I am having a hard time adjusting to life back on land. No, it was actually not the ship that made it special - I just love cruising on any ship, anywhere in the world. Radisson Seven Seas Cruises trots the globe with a small fleet of luxury ships. Radisson claims to be the company that offers the finest ships afloat. However, after cruises on other lines, namely Crystal Cruises, I have to disagree. The 3-year old, all-suite, all-balcony SEVEN SEAS MARINER is undoubtedly a luxurious, beautiful floating resort. And while there were many positives to rave about, I found just as many negatives to grouse about and those, unfortunately, slanted my view of the cruise overall. Our cruise was 2 weeks in Asia, sailing from Tokyo to Osaka & Hiroshima in Japan, and then on to Dalian, Tianjin/Beijing & Shanghai in China before ending in Hong Kong  (Note: I had to list Yokohama as Embarkation Port in the above field as Tokyo was not given as an option). The ports made the cruise, as each city was beautiful and fascinating. Asia was never high on my list of places to see, but having returned now I cannot wait to go back. Overnight calls in Osaka, Tianjin/Beijing, Shanghai & Hong Kong were spectacular as we were allowed more time to learn about these cities and experience the nightlife. Onboard ship, the first thing that struck me as being a bit odd was the indifference we experienced from the crew. For every smile we got from a staff member, there were two more in line who acted annoyed and bothered to be there working. The staff at Reception were stone-faced and many wait staff seemed to be distracted and inattentive. We spent many meals in the Compass Rose (the main dining room)waiting for water, drinks and bread, while servers chatted among themselves or disappeared altogether. Radisson has an open-seating policy which I don't care for. You don't get the same servers and, therefore, your dining preferences are not learned and there is no relationship built between guest and server. We had to track down our favorite servers and try to be seated at their station. Many thanks go out to Jerome from Germany and Renata from Hungary who were superstars in the dining room - always had a smile, joke and menu recommendation. We tipped them handsomely despite the line's no tipping policy. The ship itself is a stunning example of contemporary European design, following in the footsteps of older sister SEVEN SEAS NAVIGATOR which I sailed on in 2000. Despite catering to a well-heeled, reserved, 60-year old + crowd, this ship is shockingly modern. The decor is bright and airy and the suites are roomy and gorgeous. Every room is a suite, and every suite has a balcony. And truly, there is just nothing like cruising with a private veranda! This is not a ship to sail on for excitement. In fact, this was the most uneventful environment I had ever seen. Once dinner is over, the ship quiets down for the night. Once 10:30 hits, you can hear a pin drop. I entertained myself at Club.com by checking out the Internet. I am in my 20's, and while I am well-traveled and sail with only the best cruise lines, I found myself trying to stay awake onboard due to lack of activity. Stars, the disco on Deck 6, would blast hot dance tracks all night - only problem is that the only people in there were the lonely bartenders who stood at the bar chatting all night. A younger crowd drunkenly used the room sporadically toward the end of the 2 weeks for Karaoke, but even that was tame by typical standards. The food was a disappointment, I have to admit. While it was perfectly presented, the portions were tiny and tasteless. I usually ordered a BLT or a hamburger for most meals as those were the only substantial items. An amazing appetizer or main course would appear every now and then, but then we were stuck with the appallingly bad desserts and pastries. There are 2 alternative restaurants which were stunning and offered exotic cuisine, but these highlights were not enough to make up for the overall poor culinary quality. One of the two alternative restaurants were turned into a "Roadside Diner" for the last week of the cruise with the worst food I had ever eaten. Europeans really should not try to mimic classic American diner food. It was a cute idea, but poorly done. Entertainment was run-of-the-mill with a big Broadway-style show every few nights, mixed with cheesy variety acts the other nights. The production shows("Thoroughly Modern Broadway", "Beyond Imagination" and a Beatles show) were well-done and high quality. However, the Beatles show was cancelled on our cruise due to production difficulties; i.e. an unprepared dance team. Overall, I enjoyed my time onboard SEVEN SEAS MARINER. It is a gorgeous ship with amazing suites and phenomenal decor. And while there was good service here and there, and good food here and there, the quality level was spotty from day one and atypical of a line of this caliber. Radisson tries to be Crystal, but misses the mark. Asia was the highlight and I will definitely visit there on a cruise again. And despite my complaints, I WILL sail with Radisson again. With a tweak here and there, they have the potential to be as solid as they claim to be. Read Less

I took my first luxury cruise on Radisson's new Seven Seas Voyager as a special way to celebrate my 50th birthday. With its large cabins, the Voyager is perhaps the most comfortable ship afloat. We picked an 11-night Baltic Sea cruise that departed August 19, 2003. Having taken 20 other cruises on mass market lines, mostly Princess and Celebrity, I was afraid that once I stepped into the luxury market I'd be so spoiled that I'd never want to sail on anything else. I could taste the caviar, lobster and champagne as I envisioned days of being pampered. Luxury cruises are expensive. Our cruises on Princess and Celebrity usually were in balcony cabins at about $300 per couple per day. The cruise on the Voyager cost $1000 per cabin per day, more than three times as expensive as our other cruises. Was it worth $1000 a day? Pour yourself a little champagne and read on to find out. At these prices you have to judge Radisson with a more critical eye. A deficiency that easily could be overlooked on a $300 a day cruise should not occur when you're paying $1000 a day. The one word that best describes the Radisson experience for me is inconsistent. The cabins and personal attention were wonderful. It was great not to have to wait in line for anything and have servers bring you any food or drink you wanted. But the food was disappointing and the service not quite what it should be at these prices. Embarkation: Even though they say boarding begins at 3PM, you can board as early as 11:30AM. You're met by one of the cruise staff, given a glass of champagne and escorted to a lounge to check in and have a security photo taken. Then you can have lunch at the pool grill or sandwiches in some of the lounges. There's no hot lunch available except for what's cooked on the grill, hamburgers, chicken, and steak sandwiches. The rooms are not usually ready until about 2:40PM but you can tour the ship while you wait. The Ship: The Voyager is one of the best ships afloat in terms of passenger comfort, 49,000 tons and only 700 passengers. Other ships that size could carry up to twice the passenger load. To fully appreciate the Voyager you have to venture inside. From the outside, the ship looks like so many of the newer floating hotels. Not much on the outside appears special. It's painted all white. There is not even much of a promenade deck. With no chairs, it's really just a place to duck outside for some fresh air if you happen to be on deck 5. The centerpiece of the ship is an atrium that goes form deck 3 all the way to the top on deck 11. The Voyager is furnished in an elegant but simple fashion. There's not much to wow you until you enter your suite. The Suites: This is where the Voyager clearly leaves other ships in its wake. The minimum suite is a 300-sq. ft. cabin with an additional 50-sq. ft. balcony. There is more than enough room for two people. The sitting area has a full size sofa with two additional chairs and a small table. There's also a desk and bar in the sitting area, and a small vanity by the bed. The bathrooms are fabulous -- full-size and marble, there is a separate shower, bathtub, and large sink with plenty of storage space. There's also a walk-in closet with enough hangers and room for everyone's clothes. And there are cushions for your two lounge chairs on the balcony. And remember this is all in the minimum cabin. The Food: When I did a little on-line research before the cruise, passengers had said the food on Radisson was on par with Celebrity. This surprised me since, at these prices, I felt the food should be a lot better than on Celebrity. It was not. The overall quality of the food was my big disappointment on the cruise, the only area that did not meet expectations. The food was inconsistent. A few of the meals were the best I've ever had on a cruise ship. Others were major failures. There are four restaurants on the Voyager. The Compass Rose is the main dining room, with open seating. Show up anytime and eat with whomever you wish to dine. I never saw anyone waiting for a table. And there are plenty of tables for two for those who don't want to eat with others. While the food at Compass Rose is certainly good, the menus and preparation of the food left a lot to be desired. We felt much of the food was overcooked or not seasoned properly. The meals our first two nights in the Compass Rose were so unmemorable that we didn't eat there again until the final two nights of our 11-night cruise. On the second night, which was formal, they served Beef Wellington and lobster tails. Both were disappointing. The beef was overcooked and the lobster tails were very small baby lobster tails that lacked texture and flavor. I've had much better Beef Wellington on Princess and better lobster tails on every other cruise I've taken. They didn't even stock regular lobster tails, only the baby ones. This was very surprising for a luxury cruise. On the last formal night the waiter forgot to serve the sherbet course to our entire table. To their credit, they did accommodate special requests for cherries jubilee and baked Alaska. There are two specialty restaurants that require reservations. Signatures is a gourmet restaurant, part of Le Cordon Blue. Its philosophy is the exact opposite of Burger King. At Signatures you have to have it their way. No substitutions, no special orders. But there's plenty on the menu to satisfy almost all tastes. For the most part, the food is very good to excellent and presented so artfully that I took pictures of some of the dishes. By the way, the dress code for Signatures is always at least semi-formal, even on causal nights. The other specialty restaurant is Latitudes. Here, they serve different dishes from different restaurants around the United States. Everyone eats at the same time, 7:30PM. Your only menu choice is between two main course items, usually a meat and fish. At Latitudes we noticed the greatest inconsistency. This is where I had both the best and worst dishes ever on a cruise ship. Some of the food is truly excellent. A shellfish soup and a fillet mignon in a wonderful sauce were the highlights of the food part of the cruise. But on our second visit and with a different recipe, the same excellent cut of fillet mignon was not properly seasoned and served on top of a puddle of bland beef consume. The unanimous opinion of the six people at our table was that the beef turned out bland and tasteless. It was as if the chef had not even bothered to taste it. Deserts also were inconsistent. A pecan pie was overcooked and tough. Some tips for making reservations at Signatures and Latitudes. If you want your choice of times and days, make your reservations as soon as they start taking them at 3PM on the day of sailing. They'll only let you make one reservation for each restaurant. But you can book a larger table and invite someone you meet later. After a couple of days when everyone has had a chance to make their first reservation, they will let you make a second one. If they do fill up you can always try for a cancellation. We ate in Latitudes two nights when there were at least 10 empty places for people who had made reservations but didn't show up and neglected to call. If you have a hearty appetite, beware of any dishes where the meat comes sliced. The polite term would be to say the portions are "delicate." In other words, they're small. We had three different meals of sliced veal, sliced duck breast and sliced Chateaubriand that amounted to no more than 2-3 ounces of meat in a serving. You should have seen the expression on my face on the last formal night when I ordered Chateaubriand and I got a plate with two small 1/8-inch thick slices of meat. The entire table asked for more meat which the waiter brought after a wait that seemed too long. The fourth restaurant is La Veranda, always casual and with an outdoor seating area. We only ate there twice, although some people felt this was the best food on the ship. Its theme is a Mediterranean Bistro. Humus and chunks of Parmagiano cheese await you with bread on the table. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Much quieter than Compass Rose. Here the appetizers are served buffet style, and the waiter brings your entrEe and some deserts. Other deserts are available from the buffet. On the whole, I thought the food in La Veranda was very good. They had an excellent lamb shank, and I don't even like lamb. But others at our table were not as impressed by the food here. To be fair about the quality of the food, I spoke to many people on the cruise that were delighted with it. They loved every bite. It's interesting how two people can experience the same meal and come away with two completely different impressions. But I was not alone in my feeling that the food was inconsistent. Everyone in our core group of eight passengers felt the same way. And while the quality of the food wasn't always excellent, the presentation was beautiful. The Drinks: All drinks at meals are complimentary. However, except for wine with dinner, they don't tell you the drinks are free. They never offered a pre-dinner cocktail or an after dinner drink. But they are free if you ask for them at the dinner table and the waiters will bring them. This applies in all restaurants. Non-alcoholic drinks are always free anywhere on the ship. Upon arrival you select an in-room bar set up of two bottles of liquor or wine. You also get two cans of beer and mixers, soft drinks and bottled water. The non-alcoholic beverages are replaced as needed. To our surprise, we found that, other than water, we really didn't drink anything in our suite. There are so many opportunities to drink elsewhere on the ship that we didn't have much of a desire to drink in the room. I ended up lugging the two unopened bottles of liquor back home. Radisson does not seem to make much of a profit on drinks. The most expensive glass of red wine we ordered was $5.50 and most cocktails were no more than $4.75. I know people have suggested that Radisson just go to an open bar policy. But they would have to raise cruise fares to do it and those who don't drink would end up further subsidizing those who do drink. I would suggest a compromise that would give passengers a choice of the in-room liquor or a shipboard credit. A $50 bar credit would have been more use to us than two bottles of liquor we never had time to drink in the room. The Service: It was always prompt, professional and attentive. With a ratio of 1.5 passengers to 1 crew, the ship excels at service. Even tables in the buffet restaurant are set with table clothes and silverware. Same for tables in the Horizon Lounge at teatime. As soon as you sit down at a table anywhere, someone is usually quick to come to take a drink order. But as good as the service was, there is still room for improvement. Only about a quarter of the time did the serves make an attempt to address me by name. Almost every time I was drinking soda, I had to ask for a refill, instead of the server coming to me to ask if I wanted another one. And in only one case did the server bring a refill without asking or being asked. The room stewardess and her assistant were very professional in doing their jobs. I never had to ask for anything for the room. But again, they never made an effort to address me by name in the 11 days of our cruise. They only would say "good morning" or "have a nice day" when we passed in the halls. I've taken cruises on Princess and Celebrity where the room steward was calling me by name on the second day. These are small points but they are important if you want to be the very best. The Lounges: They are all comfortable, pleasant and simple. Not much leather or glitz. Most of the chairs are cloth. The Constellation Theater is the main show lounge. There always were seats available. The Horizon Lounge featured afternoon tea and evening dancing. The Observation Lounge was my favorite, on deck 11, glassed in and overlooking the water. A quiet place to have a drink or tea and watch the ship sail. There is also the Voyager Lounge outside the entrance to the Compass Rose. Great for a drink before dinner, it turns into the disco later. The Staff and Crew: Cruise director Barry Hopkins was excellent. He and his staff made an effort to chat with and get to know everyone. I felt the ship's management was accessible if anyone had a problem. The Captain also seemed accessible and was on the bridge to answer passenger questions during the two sea days when the bridge was open for visits. Entertainment: The 10 singers and dancers who did the three production shows were excellent. The rest of the shows in the main showroom were a bit spotty. I felt some of the entertainer's acts were not good enough to sustain an entire show. But you really can't expect to have all top acts on a smaller ship. There was also an on board enrichment lecturer who many people thought was great, even though I didn't get to hear her. And the cruise director Barry Hopkins did a couple of lectures himself, on digital photography and the Royal family, which were popular and entertaining. Internet Access: Available in the top suites and in the Internet cafe. The price for surfing the net is very reasonable. You're charged only for actual downloading time. It's less expensive to use a web-based mail account like Hotmail than to use the ship's email address. With the ship sailing full, there was sometimes a wait for a computer terminal. Laundry: Free self-service laundry, including detergent, is available on all decks. With only two machines per deck there sometimes was a wait. Dress Codes: On the Voyager there are three: casual, semi-formal and formal. I've concluded that ship dress codes really apply only to men. Women can wear anything but jeans. A black pantsuit can double for casual and semi-formal nights. Add a string of pearls and you can wear it for formal night too. So for the men, formal means tux or dark suit and tie. About half the men wore tuxes. Semi-formal is a jacket, tie optional. Most men wore ties. Casual means no jacket. About half the men wore them anyway. Tipping: This is a topic that seems to get people riled up. The policy on Radisson is that all tips are included in your cruise fare and no tips are expected on board. They even tell you on board that tips are not expected. Some people felt the need to tip anyway, sometimes up front, and believed they received better service. I didn't tip extra and my service was fine. However, as much as people don't like the hassle of tipping, I believe that you will never get service as good as you would get when the employee's income depends on a personal tip from you. Conclusions: Radisson is an excellent cruise line and I would sail it again. Some people have said it's like a floating Four Seasons resort. But I didn't feel that it was quite up to that level. The Voyager excels in its cabins, passenger comfort and service. In my opinion the food needs improvement. At these prices the food should be much better than the mass-market lines, not on par with them. What you're paying for on Radisson - and you're paying a lot for it - is a larger cabin, much more attentive service, not having to wait in line, and a more exclusive group of passengers. Whether you think it's worth three times the cost of a mass-market cruise is a personal choice. I wasn't won over completely. But I would like to sail a luxury line again. The Seven Seas Navigator is a lovely 490-passenger, all-outside suites ship with impeccable service, wonderful cuisine and great entertainment. We recently sailed on her from Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica, through the Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale, with stops in the Panama Canal Zone, Cartagena, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Calica. Embarkation took all of five minutes with champagne in hand. The standard suites are very spacious (300 sq. feet plus balcony) and are beautifully decorated. There is a living room area with sofa, chair, bookshelves with TV/VCR and fridge (which is stocked with complimentary soft drinks throughout the cruise), there is an initial complementary stocking of two large size liquor bottles as well. There is an actual walk-in closet with lots of storage space, and includes a safe. The marble bathroom is spacious as well, and includes a separate full-size tub and shower. The cuisine was excellent and includes choices in the regular dining room, or alternative Italian restaurant. A choice of complimentary wines was available with dinner and flowed freely. What was a standout if one could be picked, was the incomparable service. Service levels were uniformly excellent throughout the ship and always included a smile and attention to detail. It was not unusual to have three wait staff at our dining room table for six. The only negative thing I could say is that I wish the cruise had been longer. I visited the Navigator as a guest in Seattle, as was very impressed by the ships physical qualities as well as the wonderful canapes offered to guests. The ship itself bears a definite likeness to the Silversea ships, as might be expected, as she was built in the same Mariotti yards in Genoa. The ship is obviously a bit larger than the Silversea ships, and a little more dramatic in certain areas, especially the main centrum area with the glass elevators. Especially pleasant are the wide corridors which create a feeling of openness and light. The pool area is very nice and almost a larger carbon copy of the Silversea ships. A very nice touch are the teak table and chairs, which are absent on Silversea, and always lend a feeling of class and luxury. The alternate dining area, the Portofino Grill, is very nicely done, as is the main dining room. The dining room unfortunately is not 2 decks high as on the Diamond and the Gauguin, but one can't have everything. The decoration throughout the ship was very subdued and tasteful, although I found the Stars Lounge a bit severe. The showroom is beautiful, all seats seem good, and it is unique in the respect that it has no central aisle, entry is from the sides. All in all, a very pretty ship and a welcome addition, I think, to the ranks of luxury ships. I just have to wait until November to sail on her. Read Less
