The highlight of this cruise was to visit Jamestown, however after only two hours at anchor at St. Helena, the captain set sail for 6 days at sea saying we could not tender in. The ocean was calm but you could see waves crashing against the wharf. I queried why we could have not waited until afternoon to see if the waves would have subsided and his response was that there wasn’t enough time in ...
I’ve read numerous reviews about Regent claiming they have slipped and are no longer a true luxury line.
Don’t believe it for a minute!
We sailed on the Seven Seas Voyager from Cape Town to Rio and LOVED our crossing. We booked a Penthouse Suite, one of the smaller suites with a Butler, and were totally impressed with the cabin, the service, the food, and yes, even the aging ship which is ...
Beautiful ship, fabulous staff, wonderful cuisine, elegant suite. The Butler and Stewards were very attentive. We were fortunate on this leg, as with the previous one, in having thoroughly delightful weather.
Our stop in Montevideo was especially memorable. What a gorgeous city! The tour was well conducted by a very articulate guide, and the stops along the way were timed well to give ...
The Grandeur was our first experience sailing on a Regent ship. When deciding upon the cruise line for our long-awaited transit of the Panama Canal, we selected Regent because had heard good things and we thought it would be fun to try a brand new ship. We were disappointed. The ship itself is a marvel, better than other luxury lines we have sailed. The public spaces are large and inviting. The ...
We have long wanted to transit the Panama Canal and the start of Regent's latest grand dame's career was the ideal opportunity. We left a wet and cold UK to find much the same in LA. We were on Splendour in July so the beauty of the ship was not a huge surprise. But Regent have managed to raise the bar again & not just with the beautiful Faberge egg on display.
Disappointments - Acapulco hadn't ...
Our flights, pre/post cruise hotels and transfers were all arranged by Regent. On arrival we were informed that we would be notified about embarkation details - but we weren't. On the morning of embarkation, several hundred guests along with several hundred suitcases were all seen milling around awaiting 5 coaches to take us to Seven Seas Voyager. Two of our party of 4 had mobility problems and ...
Cruise fell so far below expectations, frequent cruisers, sailed with Regent several times and normally fabulous but Ship is tired, rooms far from luxurious. Problems from start, transfers from hotel and embarkation absolutely chaotic. We both became unwell by end of first week this was before ship officially announced that they had a serious problem, they said only a few people sick but levels ...
Just off Navigator last week. We are moderately experienced cruisers (~24 total), though this is our first Regent since the old Radisson Diamond in 1997.
We enjoyed the cruise, especially the excellent service and staff, both in the cabins and in the dining venues. There are always some glitchy times in dining, and this was no exception, as Christmas Day simply overwhelmed the ship's ability to ...
We chose Regent for my husband's 70th birthday celebration. We spent a lot of money on this, but having sailed with Regent years ago (pre-NCL) we believed that we would get the ultra-luxurious experience we were paying for. We did not. There is little point in repeating everything related by previous reviewers - we completely agree that the ship is too old, noisy and cramped to be described as ...
We chose this cruise for several reasons. The Panama Canal crossing was of interest as was the embarkation city of Miami. Embarkation was seamless and disembarkation was also complaint free. By the time the cruise started we lost 4 ports and ended up with an extra night in Los Angeles and a trip to Puerto Vallarta. Not happy with the last minute changes that were attributed to "green energy" ...
