The Pacific Coast cruise took us to Astoria, OR (quaint town), San Francisco, Monterey (gorgeous) and Victoria (cozy and beautiful). Embarkation went very smoothly. We hired a car to take us to the port, so that made it especially easy. Our cabins were very soundproof - never heard our neighbors OR each other (bathroom was very-well insulated). The staff were attentive and kind and the dining services were REALLY good. Loved the sit-down dinners and I'm glad we chose "Anytime Dining," which really means you can choose which of the two (or three?) main dining rooms you'd like to visit anytime between 7 and 9. You're also given the choice to share a big table (which we loved, even though we are introverts) or to wait a little longer for a private table. We also tried one of the surcharge restaurants (the Crown Grill) and loved the window seating, private table and extra attention (plus amazing steak). I can see why the older crowd would really enjoy a cruise, but I'm not sure I need to do that again. TIPS: * buy heavy-duty hook magnets (the walls have nice wallpaper, but they are covering metal so your magnets will stick almost anywhere). I used those for our coats, my purse, my shower bag, scarf, key card lanyard, jackets, clothes, etc... * buy clip magnets: I used these to keep track of the daily deluge of paperwork (tickets to excursions, the itinerary, the daily calendar of events, etc..). * Don't overpack! You can wear everything at least twice. NOBODY will notice. * Bring good walking shoes for shore excursion days. Bring comfy slip-ons for walking around the cruise ship * BRING YOUR OWN Lanyard to hold your key card. You need your key card every time you get a drink, a mocktail, an espresso, etc... and it's a pain to fish it out of a wallet. Just have it around your neck and be done! * If you have never cruised before, get the BALCONY. I am so glad we did. * Since you can bring one bottle of wine per person, you might consider Skipping the alcohol/all-inclusive packages. They are so expensive and unless you drink like a fish, I can't imagine they are worth it. We got the premium drink package (no alcohol) but half of us only got water anyway, and all of us drank only 1-2 coffees per day. It would have been cheaper to just pay a la carte, or to get that espresso drink punch card. The alcoholic drinks are between $9-12 each and so just get one when you feel like it (or not)! * WIFI is ridiculously expensive, so we skipped it. 1) we checked email in port and the rest of the time we stayed on airplane mode and 2) the ship has an internal wifi that doesn't give you internet, but it does give you the ability to message your co-travelers and also to look over the list of the daily events (and favorite the things you are considering). The daily paper events page shows exactly the same thing in case you don't want to bother with the app. * BRING A WATER BOTTLE and don't use the plastic bottles. You can easily fill your bottle(s) with ice and water up on the 14th floor (where they do buffet anytime dining). We brought two water bottles and then, because we had signed up for an "anything but alcohol" drink package, they also gave us two tumbler-type water containers that really came in handy. * the elevators in the aft (back of ship) don't go down far enough to reach all parts of the ship. I only used them to go UP to the buffet. If I wanted to go down (from our 11th-floor Baja deck), I'd walk to the front elevators, which went to every floor. * The closets on the Star Princess are HUGE. Lots of hangers. My partner and I are in our mid-40s and we were almost the youngest on the entire ship. That's not a problem, of course, just something to know. Some of our older shipmates were dancing and participating in events much more than we were, but overall I did get the sense I was in a retirement community. EVERYONE was friendly and fun and we loved getting to know our table-mates at dinner or those that did the same excursions. The entertainment had good variety, and there was music going on at all times (ochestral trio, latin lounge singers, recorded ballroom dancing, piano player, etc..). We enjoyed the two comedians the most. Overall: A - be prepared to not have internet (and enjoy it!) B - you'll never watch all those movies you downloaded, so don't bother bringing laptop C - ask your server what drinks they recommend. Our mocktail mojitos were amazing! D - people dress up for dinner and they REALLY dress up for the "at sea" days (usually 2 per week, I hear). We wore a dress/suite, but not everyone bothers. You'll be fine no matter what, but you'll feel like you fit in more if you dress up a bit. E - high heels are nice, but not if the ocean waves are rocking the boat! Be prepared to wear flats on those days! Read Less

Wanted something close to home without having to fly and this was the perfect cruise. Just prepping for our cruise on the Crown in January! The weather could not have been better for this time of year. Embarkation was painless and we were on board in less than 15 minutes. Never waited for anything. We met some amazing people, mostly from Seattle! Others we met were great! Thank you for letting my husband tease you on the elevator at 7:30 am on his way to get me coffee. Thank you to the crew for streaming the SEAHAWK game! That was a treat Thursday night. The bus trip in Astoria was just okay. We were very limited on time because the bus was late getting to the terminal. (not the fault of Princess) Whale watching in Monterey was well worth the money. When the crew recommends the little pill packet for $1 BUY IT! Half of the guests were feeding the fish from the back of the boat on a perfectly beautiful day! Only a buck people! Read Less

We wanted to try out cruising, and being school teachers, needed a cruise that left or arrived in our home town during school holidays. This 4 night cruise from Auckland to Sydney was perfect. Embarkation was a breeze at the port of Auckland. There was no problem with being dropped off with luggage right by the terminal. We were happy with the cabin, it was exactly as we expected after researching. It was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. Our steward was amazing at looking after us. That was actually the theme of the cruise - the most incredibly staff are on Princess. Our daughter has coeliac disease, and safe eating is the hardest thing when travelling with her. Not on Princess though - we ate in the formal dining room for pretty much every meal after the first day as the food was incredible, and they were able to cater for my daughter's gluten free needs, as well as her wants. I was blown away by how great the food was. The other options on board were perfectly good (we had breakfast once at the buffet, and tried out the terrace grill for lunch as well once, both good meals), but the anytime dining at Traviata was super special. Bar service was equally great. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. There are amazing cocktails on Princess! Our daughter had great fun at the youth club, and she also loved the pools. We became addicted to the trivia sessions, and found that there was always something to do if we wanted to do something. The show Encore was amazing, extraordinary talent. Lots of live music from classical to rock band, at all different times, and loads of opportunities to take part in activities - not bad for a 4 night cruise! The crossing was a wee bit rocky - as it often is when crossing the Tasman, which also meant they couldn't disembark at Bay of Islands, but they really tried to make it happen. We weren't planning on getting off there, so that didn't impact us. We were having too much fun exploring the boat. We would absolutely sail with Princess again, the trip exceeded expectations in so many ways. Read Less

Our short trip from LA to Cabo on the Royal Princess was very relaxing and refreshing. Just what the doctor ordered. We arrived a little before our scheduled embarkation time, but we just got in line and wound our way through. I had already received our Medallions, so we didn't have to show anything other than that! It really couldn't have been easier. Once on board, my husband, who was a first time cruiser, was amazed at the grandeur and beauty of the Piazza. Even though I had shown him pictures, seeing it in person is amazing. We dropped our luggage off at our room and then hit the buffet. Again, my husband was amazed at the selection and quantity! Our room was M535, a balcony room, just below Horizon Court. I was worried there would be noise from there, but it was insignificant compared to my husbands snoring. I brought earplugs for the later and apparently it blocked out the former :) Our cabin steward had our room looking great and kept it that way the whole trip. He really did a great job and was always friendly when we passed in the hallway. The wait staff in the traditional dining room, Allegro, was delightful. My husband enjoyed chatting with our waiter, Victor, so much, that he didn't want to miss a meal. We had a gift meal at Sabatini's (which was very nice) so we did miss one meal there, much to my husband's chagrin. I loved the food. I'm not hard to please, I will admit. If someone else makes it and cleans up, I'm fairly certain that I will be happy with any food that is not too adventurous. The very first night I had the prime rib. It was so good I wanted to cry happy tears! The next night was filet mignon, and another night was chicken and another night was salmon. I wish I could eat there every single night of my life! Again, I am not a foodie, far from it. But my husband and I both enjoyed the food. Horizon Court was great for lunch and breakfast. My husband loved the cookies! We watched the movies in the afternoon and napped. I got caught up on several movies that I didn't see during the summer. That was a bonus! The bed was comfy. I was very pleasantly surprised at how awesome the dancers and singers were for the big show performances. We saw "Soul" and "Encore" on this cruise. Both were wonderful and had my husband standing up and cheering at the end. I was cheering too, but that isn't remarkable :) Jeff the Juggler was super funny and very entertaining. Getting off the ship to go into Cabo was the only glitch, but it wasn't anyone's fault but the weather. We eventually got into Cabo and stayed about 30 minutes. It is true what people say about bartering. Decide what you are willing to pay for something, and you will probably get your price. We also had the free tea every day at 3:00pm. I loved that so much I want to continue it at home! Their scones are so delicious. The tea itself was only meh, but I like regular Lipton tea, so bear that in mind. Disembarkation was a little tedious (be prepared to wait for elevators), but since we were walking off with our luggage, we just left when we were ready. Typical lines to wait in, but honestly, when you are off-loading about 3,000 people, what do you expect? Overall, it was a wonderful time to relax and getaway from the daily grind. I honestly didn't want to come home and have to think about what to fix for dinner the next day! Read Less

We chose this cruise due to multiple reccomendations. A wonderful experience and our first cruise! We will return! The dining room experience was awesome We used the buffet for breakfast and lunch. There were many healthy choices. We exercised each day and were pleased with the work out choices. The highlight of our cruise experience was the Balcony Dinner and th excursions in Cabo. We did the snorkeling and swim with the dolphins. The experience in Cabo felt save and relaxing We were glad we were able to stay 2 days. Getting on and off the ship in Cabo was easy and effortless. The return back to the U.S. port in San Pedro was just the right amount of time being on the ship Leaving the port, we took the airport transfer provided by Princess, the bus was reasonable and air conditioned All in all no negative incidences. I chose a Princess cruise because of how highly recommended Princess was by many friends. I knew I did not want to add the time or price of flights to or from another port, so I chose a round trip from my local Los Angeles port. The destination was really not much of a factor in my selection. I was so impressed with the service all over the ship. I've never experienced service like this anywhere else. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, attentive and welcoming. It was amazing! The ship itself is beautiful and the room was much larger than I expected. The food was really good too. I couldn't believe the speed of the service in the restaurants on a sold out cruise. It blows my mind how they can serve so many people so fast. Everything about the cruise was top notch. The bartenders in the Good Spirits at Sea bar were truly memorable. Agus, Don and Patricio were just amazing. Their service was the best and their sense of humor had us in stitches the whole cruise. Matt "O", our cruise director really made the whole cruise enjoyable. He was so nice, friendly, knowledgeable and full of energy day and night. I can't wait to cruise with him again! It promised a short getaway and definitely lived up to it ! We were able to relax in the Spa’s Enclave. The pool there is so therapeutic, the steam and sauna rooms are a must. Then top it off by lying on the warm stone bed. I also benefited from the seaweed detox treatment and massage. For anyone who needs to rejuvenate this is the place to be. Fasted embarkation and disembarkation ever!! It was very organized and everyone along the way was helpful and so friendly. The food was delicious and always fresh. We had two great dinners in the Symphony Dining room and the rest of the time we frequented the Horizon Buffet and enjoyed the convenience and variety there. And don’t forget the delicious pizza on Deck 16! We took advantage of room service in the morning and it was always on time and exactly what we had ordered. Read Less

This was the second time we sailed on Princess , some issues with ship on Alaska cruise but this one was great.. First time leaving from Brooklyn was very pleased with ease of getting to terminal, parking and leaving. Boarding and departing was fast and efficient. The option of embarking from New York is especially good for those of us in the northeast. We like Princess. There is a new feature called Medallion Class. Not all ships are equipped with it yet. This new system replaces the old credit card room key. If you are already booked on a Medallion Class ship and fill out the necessary paperwork your medallion will be sent to your in advance and on embarkation day you don't even have to check in, just walk through. When you approach your room the door automatically unlocks and your picture appears on a screen outside your door. A medallion class cruise also has very strong and fast WIFI. Once you reach platinum status with Princess it is free. Our room was in the forward area on the Lido deck. That puts you a short walk from the Horizon Food Court. Plus there is always an available elevator to take you down to the theater and the main shopping and reception desks. The ship was sparkling clean and the crew friendly. Read Less

They provided exceptional service from our stateroom attendant, (MARIO!!) to room service, the Horizon Buffet waiters, and every other staff member aboard the ship. There were great sights on and off board. The views were exceptional! The excursions were great, but please note, the Princess excursion options are much better than private shore ones! Just got back from a three night cruise with a group of friends to celebrate one of our friends significant birthdays. Had never been on a cruise ship before and thought the overall experience was fantastic. The ship is still very new, having been built in 2017. Our cabin was excellent and we spent so much time sitting on the balcony watching the sea pass by. The modern cruise ships are so stable, with very little impact from the waves of the ocean. The service and assistance from the staff was fantastic. We were made to feel so welcome when we got on board and this level of hospitality did not cease for the duration of our trip. Nothing ever seemed to be a bother for any of the staff. Overall, I would rate the ship, the staff, the service and facilities as excellent and would recommend this cruise ship highly. Read Less

We left the harbour at around 6.30pm and it look spectacular. Everyone was on deck to watch Sydney Harbour in all its glory. This ship provided everything to keep us interested from movies to shows to auctions to karaoke or just do nothing. The choice was ours and let me say the food choices were amazing with many different types of dining from ala carte to casual dining and everything in between. Outdoor movies and bars around swimming pools, it even had an adults only area so that parents can get away from the kids for a short time if they want. Now we are looking forward to our next cruise sometime next year. Maybe we will see you there. Read Less

My husband and I needed a worry-free escape from stressful jobs, one that, once we left the house, was completely taken care of. On this 4 night cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles, we were able to afford a Club Class Mini Suite with Princess transfers at the Vancouver Airport and an overnight at the Four Seasons Hotel. The transfers and hotel stay were well worth the price for us. As soon as we left Customs, a Princess Rep whisked us to a cab and handed a voucher to the driver. At the lovely Four Seasons we were upgraded to a magnificent one bedroom suite with a breathtaking city view. Our luggage was picked up from our suite at 8am the next morning and we didn't have to think about it again until it was safely delivered to our cabin in the very early afternoon. As others have mentioned, embarkation in Vancouver was a mess. There were 3 ships in Port disembarking when we arrived at about 9:45am, and we were herded here, there, and everywhere while the port employees tried to figure out what to do with us and where we were supposed to go. Once we cleared Customs and Princess had more control over the situation, things were much more organized. We were safely on board and in our cabin before 11:30am. Our cabin was very clean, spacious, and in good order. The tub/shower combination in the bathroom was worth the price of the suite. Our cabin steward Jeffrey was perfect in every way and greatly enhanced our experience. Our luggage was delivered very promptly. We couldn't have been happier with Club Class Dining. The separate area of the Bordeaux Dining Room was very peaceful and the service most attentive. The food was good and the extra dish often noteworthy. We never had to wait for a table, and our beverages of choice were instantly at hand. My husband enjoyed the variety of the buffet, but the quality of the food and lack of substantial vegetarian items made it a no go for me. We had Room Service a couple of times. The menu was small as were the portions, but the service was very friendly and you could order as much of any item as you wanted. I had pizza from the Lido Deck on the last day and wondered why I had waited so long. It was really good. The Coral Princess is very clean and well maintained. The crew is pleasant and seemed to work well together as a team. We enjoyed the less frantic atmosphere of a smaller ship, and found plenty of areas to enjoy the solitude of the sea away from others. I thoroughly enjoyed the Thermal Suite in the Lotus Spa. The heated beds were so relaxing, and I'm glad I invested in a pass. It was well worth it to me. It was too cold for us to brave Movies Under the Stars, but the movies also played on the televisions in our cabin and in the Princess Theater. We indulged in Premiere Coffee Cards and are glad we did. Although there could be long lines at the International Cafe, especially in the mornings, my husband greatly enjoyed the specialty frozen beverages available. I enjoyed an after dinner latte in Club Class more than once, along with an occasional Mocktail. Disembarkation in San Pedro was a breeze. We enjoyed a final Club Class breakfast with the same attentive service we had received during the rest of the cruise. We were not rushed or hurried in any way. After a leisurely meal we made our way to the quiet Platinum Lounge until our group was called. Once off the ship, our luggage was easily located and a Lyft quickly obtained for our short trip home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the lovely Coral Princess and hope to be cruising again before too long. Read Less

Being a Travel Advisor, I wanted to experience the Medallion Concept. It was wonderful. So easy to get into your stateroom, by just walking up to it. Also great to keep in contact with family members. The wi-fi was wonderful. Better than any cruise we have taken before I also had this cruise on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. My favoite ports were Boston,Charlotte Town, and Quebec. It is a must to get to the Princess Theater show room in advance or else you will not get a seat. The staff was very friendly and food choices were very good. In the buffet area, they have the greatest system for egg dishes. They give you a buzzer that signals when your eggs are ready to pick up. They were always hot and cooked to perfection. Great service with choices for my friend with a gluten free diet. Our very first cruise and it was amazing! We were with seven other people that had all previously cruised. This was helpful for us as we didn't attend the first time cruisers meeting. I would recommend going to it if you haven't cruised before. There is a lot to know that I'm sure would have been covered at the meeting. I was quite impressed with embarkation and disembarkation at all stops. With the mass of people involved, things moved very quick and efficiently. Our accommodation was a Mini-Suite, very roomy, kept clean and restocked with daily service. The bed was so comfortable. We didn't spend much time in our cabin so are considering a Balcony Stateroom the next time we cruise. The Horizon Court Buffet was very acceptable, with an array of choices, the food being better than average. We chose anytime dining and had dinner in the dining room each evening with our group. The choices were slightly limited but varied enough to satisfy most any one. On three occasions we had the same waiters. They provided us with a dining experience full of wonderful memories.Their service was impeccable, personable and full of fun. The entertainment and activities were plentiful and fun, on the most part very good. We were never without something to do, so many choices. I'm unable to comment on shore excursions because we decided to go it on our own. Our favorite stop was Monterey. We rented a car and ventured off to the Monterey Aquarium. If this sort of thing interests you, I would highly recommend it. Spent a little time on Cannery Row and off we went for a drive down the coast. They have a 17- Mile Drive with an admission fee of about $10. Worth every cent! It takes you along the beautiful coast line from Monterey to Carmel. The scenery was spectacular! It was our favorite time of the entire cruise. We were very disappointed this stop was so short, could have easily spent the whole day or two. It was our 25th anniversary and we could not cruise the East coast due to hurricanes so we went West where we had never been. It was great, the staff was wonderful, excursions were good and so relaxing. The ship was nicely taken care of, the activities were well planned. We were fortunate enough to be on the Entertainer of the year cruise and that was great. Gary the cruise director was very good and had many things planned and was very visible. His morning show was very helpful information. Now his partner Chad was not half as friendly as Gary and could use some work in that area. The captain was great and his "bye bye" was iconic and will be something you always remember. The only thing I would state needing better direction were the excursions and their meeting places. Monterey was probably the most confusing just because you got off water taxi and did not know what signs to follow and where to be. Then disembark was a bit confusing filling out the paperwork because it did not have all options. For example we needed to go by taxi and that was not listed and then we did not receive colored luggage tags so I was afraid we weren't getting picked up. I asked my steward and they helped me out. The meals were great and the main show each evening kept you well entertained. We found time to relax, read books from the library, and made new friends each day. We took advantage of excursions at each port and found them very informative and interesting. The off-road excursion was one that stood out as we traveled the back roads in Mexico and saw how corn was ground and cooked to make tortillas. This was a back to back cruise at the end of the Alaska season for the Golden Princess. We left Vancouver for Ketchikan, back to Vancouver, then sailed on to Victoria and San Francisco in a second 3 day cruise. End of season cruises are the best! After spending months on the Alaska run, the crew was heading to Hawaii and then on to Australia and they were in high spirits. The entertainment crew was able to shed their Alaska lumberjack costumes for Hawaiian shirts. Because these were short cruises (4 day and then 3 day) the schedule was packed with activities. It was a delightful experience on this lovely ship. The Golden is an older ship with a passenger capacity under 3000. It has been refurbished and was in really excellent condition even after months on the family-packed Alaska itinerary. It has a lovely atrium around which there are numerous restaurants and bars. The lower floor Vines is a favorite and this one did not disappoint with an excellent selection of wines and superior service. Don't miss the wine and chocolate pairing. This level also has the International Cafe that offers a selection of included sandwiches, soup, salads and desserts in addition to a full bar and coffees. Upstairs is Crooners bar that was always busy and featured a good piano player. From Crooners, one wanders toward the back of the ship to the Explorers Lounge with a stage and frequent entertainment then the Wheelhouse bar for quieter enjoyment and finally on to the Vista Lounge. Centrally located are the Italian Restaurant and Steak House that are available for a small additional charge. Not being red meat fans, we chose the Italian restaurant and found the food and service to be excellent, well worth the extra charge. This ship had a really excellent wine list and we were able to enjoy a favorite bottle of Central California red wine with our dinner at a very reasonable price. For daily dining, we always choose seated dining at a large table. The crew has a talent for seating a together a group of compatible people and this trip was no exception. The food and service were excellent and so was the company. I can't say enough for the entertainment and activities. The entertainment staff went above and beyond. There was daily Zumba and tai chi plus trivia and an ever changing schedule of challenges ranging from Passenger Feud to Moose Racing to an egg drop that challenged passengers to create a device that would prevent a raw egg from breaking when dropped from two stories up to the atrium floor. I came home with a nice Princess water bottle and wine bottle stopper for participating and I had a great time doing it. On both legs the captain sponsored a champagne waterfall in the atrium with ample champagne for the passengers. The pool deck is inviting and was not crowded. This ship has an open pool area and also a covered pool that was more used in the cool and wet Alaska weather we encountered. There was simply too much fun to be had below decks for us to make much use of it. Service was excellent across the board. It always amazes that crew can remember you and your preferences with ever changing passengers. This ship was especially good. Our dining room waiter worked in the anytime dining room for breakfast and lunch and always came over to say hello. The bartenders in Vines and Skywalkers remembered us and our drink preferences and were always ready with beverages and conversation. Our cabin attendants were excellent. Even though we did not select these cruises for the ports and shore excursions, Vancouver proved to be better than we could possibly have expected. We did a Fraser Valley Wine Tour that was really excellent. Who knew? These Canadian wines are not readily available in the US and they are excellent. We also very much enjoyed Granville Island where we did a brief pre-cruise stay. Overall, this was an absolutely terrific week and we look forward to doing it again next year! Read Less

We wanted to experience the suite life on a cruise. Golden is among the ships with the cheapest suites (the window suites) and a short cruise (4 days) is among the cheapest types of cruises. YES I'm frugal but still enjoy cruising. Everything on board was fabulous (this was our 6th cruise). Staff and the ship were great. We had the champagne welcome, the afternoon tea, in room canapes and fruit bowl. We had the free bar set up and I managed to swap it out for the stuff I prefer. The menu and staff in the Club Class dining room were great. We entered when we wanted and NO WAIT. We had a choice of tables. A couple of dinners we shared tables with other couples. Nice people and great conversation. A couple of meals we had just the two of us. We also had the mimosa breakfast in the Crown Grill. Different menu but all good food and staff. I especially enjoyed the Bircher muesli with mixed berries. Of course I have a few grumbles. Starting with US Customs. A 3 hour wait. They know they had 3 ships leaving, they could have put on more staff. At least the Cruise Terminal staff were efficient and had seating arranged so I was only standing for two 20 minute sessions with seating in between. When we finally got to customs, we ran our passports through a scanner, got our tickets, handed them to the agent and walked through. Three hour wait for an automated scan. And you can't do anything about the rain in Ketchikan. We were smart and brought rain coats. In the gift shops people were scrambling for cheap disposable rain coats. We docked at pier 4. As far from the tourist part of town as you can get. I wanted to visit Creek Street. There was a free shuttle with a line up but I couldn't be bother to wait in the rain and then walk about. We hit a couple of gift shops and went back on board for lunch. Read Less

This was technically a 22 day cruise, but we only did the 11 day portion of Barcelona to Rome. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary plus the price and the perks were good. There were 7 of us and overall, it was a great experience. The staff was excellent and the passengers were very friendly. We all made new friends. It is a beautiful ship. The piazza midship is stunning. We all agreed the cabins could do with a freshening up in decor; it was a little bit dated. However, the rooms were spotless. The mini-suites are large and roomy with a full size bathroom and lots of storage. My parents and sister had electrical and plumbing problems with their room, but Dennis, their steward, handled the situations promptly and efficiently. The food experience onboard got mixed reviews amongst our group. My parents and sister did not enjoy their main dining dinner experience the first night onboard and never went back. The group went to Steamers one night and those that had the mussels enjoyed the experience, but those that had the fried platter were disappointed. We all enjoyed: Share, Crown Grill, World Market Buffet, The Salty Dog Grill on the lido deck, Slices, The International Cafe, Room Service & Coffees and Cones. We only saw a couple of the shows in the Princess Theatre and they were fun. Karaoke in Club Fusion was good. The Maitre D wine tasting experience was excellent as was the Love Boat disco party. Embarkation was poorly done, but disembarkation was a breeze. For our group, the shore excursions booked through the cruise ship were the biggest disappointment, specifically those that took ship tours to Marseilles, Florence and Capri. It's a lot of money to put out and not have a wonderful time. All in all it was a great time and we would definitely consider another Princess cruise in the future. Read Less

We chose a Princess cruise to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We have cruised with Princess before and we were happy with our experience and that is why we chose Princess for this memorable occasion. Food and dining service were excellent and despite the number of guests on board, the Emerald Princess never seemed overcrowded due to its size and layout. Both the quality and variety of food on the ship were very good. We were pleased with our stateroom and the cabin service was excellent. We enjoyed the views from our balcony. We took advantage of our Cruise Personalizer to book on shore excursions for most of the ports and found the descriptions and information of each accurate. Getting off the ship for excursions was very well organized considering the number of people and we would recommend the Princess excursions. In a couple of ports we explored the area on our own without any problems. We would recommend Princess cruises and look forward to cruising with them again. Read Less

We had a truly delightful experience aboard the Emerald Princess. We highly recommend going on a cruise with Princess Crusies, and we would also highly recommend spending a little more money for a balcony room. I had been on a cruise years before, so my expectations were fairly open. We stayed in a balcony room and absolutley enjoyed the time spent coming into port and leaving port and viewing these moments from our balcony. The food experience we had was top notch, and I loved the flexibilty Princess provided us. Also our stateroom and the service provided was excelent. Great job Princess! There's no comparison regarding going on a cruise to see places verses driving or flying in to the various destinations and having to find lodging and going to expensive restaurants. The cruiseline provided everything and more. It's so worth having the convenience of having everything that you need on the ship and not having to pack up and move at every destination. Read Less

My second cruise on the Coral, this time in a balcony A610. A great location with covered balcony allowing us to step out even in the rain and not get our feet wet! This cabin was on the port side, a fantastic location to view the glaciers. Embankment was smooth and efficient. Sailaway was under sunny skies for a 7 day Alaska cruise-last of the season. We had the beverage package, gratuity and OBC as perks for this sailing. Very convenient for all drinks including specialty coffees and bottled water. Was very wet and stormy in Juneau, Skagway was phenomenal as was Glacier Bay. We were unable to dock in Ketchikan which was very disappointing. Activities on board were great but many overlapping so had to choose. Could have had more variety in entertainment comedian twice ventriloquist twice and on show was the Piano bar Don Juan show. Great show. Read Less
