I chose this cruise because I heard it had high ratings and was a short 3 day cruise. I really enjoyed everything and the fact that it had a structured schedule of entertainment and activities. We had a great experience at Lotus spa and got a couple's massage and hair style.Every personnel was so kind, knowledgable and helped us in every way. We were very satisfied with them. I was really happy that there was 24 hour cafes and room service along with daily live music that one could dance to. All the entertainers were so talented, I was impressed! We had so much fun and danced, ate and drank a lot. We had a chance to relax while at sea. It was absolutely wonderful and my boyfriend proposed to me on the last night we were there. It was truly a special adventure as it was a special occasion and our first cruise together with the exceptional service of the Star Princess Cruise. Read Less

This is our fifth cruise on this particular ship. Grand Princess is one of our favorite ships for the following reasons (in no particular order): WRAP AROUND PROMENADE - We walk around the promenade daily for exercise, and later, for digestion. COVERED POOL AND CONSERVATORY - The ping pong tables are actually usable, without wind tunnel. The shared puzzle area is out of the way. The covered pool is nice place when weather is too hot or cold for us in the open air pool. NICE GYM PLACEMENT - The gym machines look out from the 15th level. Noted many more cruisers utilizing gym than on previous cruises. Always full with very little trickling-off as cruise neared end. Nice view. Going to be sorry to see this ship move. Add to that: SAN FRANCISCO HOME PORT - Convenient home port with round trip cruises. BEST EMBARK/DEBARK EXPERIENCE - New Pier 27 is one of the best with always friendly, efficient staff. Many things to like in food service as well. This was one of the best cruise experiences we have had: Food and service in Davinci MDR was wonderful. I heeded our waiters' (Norman) recommendations for the most part and we were never disappointed by the food flavor. Norman was attentive and entertaining. My fall-back is the always good, daily available salmon, if the nights menu items are unappealing. I found the food in MDR better than the Crown Grill experience we had one time on this cruise. We were fortunate to have wonderful dinner-mates at our table-for-eight. We visited the buffet for breakfast and lunch. I ordered omelets daily and they were done well each time with a generous amount of ingredients. We have, on past cruises, found MDR breakfast better than the Buffet. This time we ate breakfast in the buffet, exclusively. The bacon was mostly crispy...a plus. We ate lunch at venues throughout the ship. The soups were a favorite. The ship is getting old, no doubt. However, everything worked for us. Even the hinges in our cabin were silent. I get up earlier than my spouse, generally getting out for exercise and fresh air between 5 and 6. I never woke my spouse on these early exits from the cabin. Also, noted the upholstery in places was new...particularly in the Vista Lounge. New plastic, green chairs in the open air pool area are more comfortable than the wicker ones in the covered pool area. One glitch happened with the propulsion system encountered a problem that delayed out approach to Ensenada. The 30 minute delay was unnoticeable. The ship stayed an additional hour in port to accommodate those going ashore. We use internet sparingly. Internet service seemed better this trip. Of course, can't be compared to home wifi. Service dropped once in 10 uses. Took one Princess tour from Hilo. Nice experience there. We generally do our own thing, having used near port, car rental services in the past. Stayed on the ship in Ensenada. Overall...very pleasant cruise. Read Less

We selected this cruise, to see Alaska and Glacier Bay. Grand Princess offered convenient departure from our city San Francisco. The onboard experience was great. Princess crew and staff were professional, friendly and service minded, and operations went smoothly. Food was more than plenty. Any time dining was delightful, with a varied menu and great execution by kitchen and service staff. Naturalist Tess Julianna was second to none. She engaged the audience with colorful and insightful lectures, on Alaska, Glacier Bay and wildlife. Evening shows were varied and offered great music and dance. Very professional. Passengers were mostly older crowd, lively, but not rowdy. Made several new friends onboard. Ports of call were Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan and Victoria, Canada. The highlight of the cruise was the day in Glacier Bay. The views and scenery were breathtaking. The visit to Victoria should have been longer, in order to see more of this beautiful city. Overall, this cruise with Princess was amazing. The crew and staff made every effort to create a welcoming and fun experience onboard and at ports of call. Read Less

We decided we needed a break and chose to go on a three-day cruise to simply relax. The price was quite reasonable and affordable for almost any budget. We chose the three-day cruise on the Coral Princess departing Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon and docking in Vancouver BC on Wednesday morning. Both ports provided incredibly easy arrival and departure options. The Coral Princess is one of the best ships in the Princess fleet. And it is now our favorite of all the ships we've sailed. It was comfortable, welcoming and warm. The wait and cabin staff were among the best we have ever encountered. The decor was rich and inviting. The Balcony Cabin on the Caribe was comfy. Those Princess beds are the best. You can just snuggle right in. We chose Anytime Dining in the Bordeaux where the menu selections were many. One of the best appetizers on the menu is any of the chilled soups. The Horizon Court food was always fresh with lots of choices. And finally the entertainment in the Princess Theater was high quality, with some of the best singers, dancers and musicians we've ever encountered on any cruise. Read Less

Quick 3 day repositioning cruise heading north to Vancouver. Flight in to LAX was perfect since Princess has staff at the baggage pickup area. My flight came in at 9:20 am. Bought transfer to ship at baggage claim from Princess personal and waited for bus. Our luggage stayed with staff and we were taken directly to ship. On the Coral Princess ship by 11:30 am. Luggage made it onto ship without any problem & was so nice not to deal with it on bus or pier. Beautiful day in LA. Blue sky and able to sit on padded lounge chairs by the indoor pool and watch the seals swimming near the ship. Nice lunch at Horizon buffet which is at the front of the ship. Went to one production show at the Princess Theater/ front of the ship. Enjoyed the special guest singers, Princess singers and band that preformed. Went to a comedy show at the back of the ship, really like that lounge and comedy was nice with little or no profanity. Relaxing Trip. Still like to watch the Yes, No game. Anytime dining was good. For Vancouver I was in walkoff group 2 taking own luggage off. Although we were slightly late to the dock/pier, I was walking off the ship by 7:45 am. Made prior reservation with Quick Shuttle and able to catch the 9 am bus to Seattle without any problem for my flight. This reposition sailing only offered transfers to Vancouver airport. I really liked the size of the Coral Princess and thought it was a pretty ship and like it, would sail on it again. Someone mentioned no seating by the Atrium on this ship, I didn’t really go there much. Didn’t notice any smoke smell from casino which was really nice. Loved that their was always lounge chairs available to use. Read Less

We love the Royal Princess Cruise ship. We had sailed on it on a 21 day Mediterranean Cruise in 2016. Enjoy the layout of the ship, which includes the Princess Live. We were eager to try out the new Medallion Class and were were celebrating our 35th. Wedding Anniversary. One of the reasons we chose this cruise is because it finished in Vancouver. We live in nearby Point Roberts , Washington State. We were Happy to celebrate our Anniversary in San Diego, California on Cinco De Mayo. Lots of celebrations going on in Old Town, San Diego. This was the first time that the Royal Princess has been on the West Coast! Matt O’Brien was our awesome cruise director. We selected an interior cabin this time. It was super cozy. Comfortable, and clean. We had plenty of room for our clothes. We preordered waters and beers for our room. Totally convenient! Love the new Medallion Class! Ease of embarking and disembarking! Fast! Great way to order drinks! Delivered directly to you. You use your Medallion for all purchases, everywhere on board. Including the laundry room, and the slot machines! Can’t say enough! It was awesome! Entertainment was good. The comedian, AJ Jamal, was a standout! He was the entertainment for two nights! He was awesome! The food was good. The pizza was available in two locations Alfredo’s Pizzeria , where they make individual pizzas to order. They also have other Italian food available. There is NO upcharge. The pizza is outstanding. Pizza can also be found up by the pool. You can get it by the slice. Delicious pizza! We went to the movies under the stars. Popcorn is available during the movies. Omelettes are made to order for breakfast at the buffet. Freshly sliced smoked salmon and bagels daily. Steak and all kinds of eggs, cereals, pastry. Something for everyone to eat at the breakfast buffet. There were two formal nights. The second formal night had mini lobster tails and risotto. I previously lived in Maine, so I am a tad picky with my lobster. This lobster tail was extremely tiny. We ate in the Steakhouse and it was delicious, as always. It never disappoints! My husband had the rib eye steak and I had the lamb chops. Cooked to perfection. Had salad. My husband had the baked potato with toppings and I had grilled fresh asparagus and the creamed spinach. Delicious. We also had dessert. There is a $29.00 upcharge each to eat at the Crowngrill Steakhouse. I highly recommend this for an extra special evening. Pub lunch! What can I say? We look forward to pub lunch on Princess Cruises. There is NO upcharge. Always a lineup! Usually held in the Wheelhouse Pub or the Crowngrill Steakhouse. They have fish and chips with mushy peas, steak and kidney pie, bangers and mash, English Plowman’s lunch. They also have British Beers available for purchase. It is just the right amount for lunch. We thoroughly enjoy the Pub Lunch! Read Less

Timing as we needed to get away for a short break without flying anywhere. Have travelled with Princess a number of times before but not recently. Found the overall experience better than expected. Space in cabin very good. Food and beverages very good as was service in most ket areas. Production numbers in theatre outstanding as good as Broadway/ London productions. On a negative point had my only steak in dinning room on last night of trip, NY Strip. It was very, very tough full of grizzle but other nights made up with quality dishes. Service in dinning room pretty good for the most part and the dialogue with the more experienced officers in dinning room very good. Their experience showed through and they a efeective representatives for Princess. While not a direct responsibility of the cruise line it would be worth your time to complain to Vancouver Port Authorities about the appalling conditions of the taxi service after the cruise. They give a very bad impression on Vancouver but the travellers from overseas seemed to be impressed with Vancouver on all other aspects. Read Less

We selected this trip to the British Isles because the itinerary looked great and the price was a good deal. We were accompanied by another couple we've cruised with many times. The embarkation went smoothly when we arrived at the port. A porter was there4 immediately to take care of our luggage so we were all set to go check in. There was no waiting line. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. We were onboard in less than 20 minutes and able to go directly to our cabin! From the time we arrived at the port to sitting down for some lunch took 30 minutes! Impressive!! The ship is showing a bit of age, with some dings and dents along corridors, but overall is still a nice ship. The itinerary for this cruise was very port intensive and although we enjoyed all the ports and excursions we did, it was not a relaxing trip, so just be prepared for a busy trip if you intend to partake of all the many places to be seen on this trip. Many of the city centers are located a distance from the port, necessitating some type of transportation to get from the ship port to town to see or do anything. Princess did not advise us prior to the cruise that they provide a bus from the pier to city in Dublin, as well as 2 other ports. Once aboard for a couple of days, we received a flyer in our cabin, with prices of $8 each way, $16 round trip from city center and back to port. They will also provide a free bus to the port gate in Dublin, just because it is a working commercial port and the authorities do not allow guests to walk around in the port area for safety reasons. However, the free ride to the port gate then requires you to get some type of transportation to the city, so might as well sign up for an excursion or taxi to get you into town. It's quite a walk to get into the city center to see most things that guests go to Dublin to see. The ports were all wonderful and each held it's own excitement of different things to experience. Had the BEST fish and chips at a bar/restaurant across the street from Christ Church in Dublin. There was another famous...very recommended fish and chips place but it was carryout only and after walking for miles that day, we had to have a place to sit down and the bar across the street from Christ Church was perfect! I tried fish and chips in 3 other places during the trip and none compared to this place. My receipt doesn't have the name of the bar, just address 19 Fishamble Street, Christchurch, Dublin. The portion was large enough that we split just 1 order and it was plenty!! We had purchased the London Pass since our flight arrived at 5 Am and we planned on taking all that day and the next morning to see London before heading to Southampton to spend the night before boarding the ship on May 1. There are many things included in the London Pass, but I'm not sure we got our money's worth because did not use the Hop on Hop off bus to get around because they were too slow to come back around. Taxied to several places but still were just not able to see many places we had in our Passbook. We did enjoy the Churchill War rooms, which were included in the London Pass....very interesting and insightful visit. Took a 90-minute coach tour around the island of Guernsey...only 10 pounds each and was a great way to see the island without walking and still had a bit of time to see some of the port area after we returned. The residents there were so lovely and friendly! Did the typical tourist things in Dublin...Christ Church, Dublin Castle, Trinity College (the books of Kell and library close right at 5 so unable to get in to see them) Guinness Storehouse. Unless you are a fan of beer/ale, I found the $25 Euro to tour Guinness very steep to tour a distillery. They do provide you with 3 nice sized samples at the end of the tour, but since neither my husband or I drink beer, it was a bit pricey for us.....went because our other couple wanted to tour it. Went to a great dinner and celtic dancing and music at Belvedere hotel 44 Euros per person. Excellent show and we enjoyed it immensely, but heard from others on the cruise that there are many pubs that have free music and dancing, pub crawls with music and dancing, so that could be a different option for those that enjoy beer. Our final tour was from LeHavre to Normandy D Day beaches and sites. Excellent tour with 8 guests and a driver. He was very informative and animated during the tour....owner and operator of Spearhead tours. Disembarkation was bit slower than embarkation as they had passengers winding around various areas and took quite some time. Once off the ship though, claiming luggage was fairly easy....self service carts for no charge. There were porters, but they did not seem interested in helping passengers get luggage...unlike in the US! Had a private taxi back to Heathrow, 1.5 hours of relaxation. I believe the transfer for Princess is $69 per person for the bus. We paid 119 pounds for all 4 of us. It was a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend the ship and the itinerary. Read Less

My husband has always wanted to do the Panama Canal adventure so upon his retirement, we chose the Panama Canal Cruise. We were told by friends, Princess Cruise Line does this cruise. So, we visited our travel club and booked the 15 day cruise aboard the Pacific Princess. Little did we know what lay ahead!! Everyday was a neat adventure; never a dull moment even on sea days. So much entertainment it’s hard to choose which one to attend. Our favorite port stop was Huatulco! Mexico! Such a quaint secret on the coast line. This town is what it’s all about. Just big enough to taste the real flavor of Mexican life. The people were so nice even when you didn’t purchase their wares. The food was excellent and the setting at the restaurant we ate at was just breathtaking!! We truly think we will revisit Huatulco!! The cruise even had a choir that practiced on sea days and we performed the last day aboard. Such a fun experience. The food choices were excellent and “ If you couldn’t find enough there, something is wrong with you.” Anything you wanted. All our on shore tours were first class. We are already talking and planning our next cruise!! So until next time; “Happy Sailing”. Read Less
